I really like how you posed the heavy chainsword World Eater, very hard to get any sort of meaningful movement with the way the weapon is sculpted.

 

I also like your little cream sheet, if you don't you should totally use it as a battle mat, it fits really well with your wolves.

Not just the helmets, but the whole models are Word Bearers Ashen Circle with all the various runes/glyphs/scribble filled in. They are very cool.

 

Great conversion all around, the Deathsworn are particularly cool. Kromlech legs?

Thanks guys. I am pretty happy with how they turned out. I definitely learned was alot so my next 5 should be a bit better. After these i plan on doing a 10 man incineration squad and wrapping up all my current stuff then tapping the breaks on the wolves until actual units get released.

Ok so having a hobby crisis I feel like I'm all over the place. I love flesh tearers but my hobby is drivin by the narrative, legions character and connection. Just not feeling it with the tearers right now. And seeing there is a lot of 40k in my area I wanted an army I can use for both. So I went back to my first move world eaters. My wolves are still my number one just on hold until we get some kits.

 

So for now I am doing primaries size mid to late heresy world eaters I can use in 40k as well.

 

They will be red or red and white the blue is gone.

 

Here is be start, still need to tidy up the modeling aspect and need a lot of bits to come in. Let me know!

Good size and poses on the World Eaters, the use of AoS kits works well on them.

Thanks Man I certainly appreciate it. I am REALLY struggling hobby wise guys. Im having a hard time staying motivated for a purely 30k army. There is little to no 30k around me. The shift to 8th has killed majority of my playing options. On top of that, everything movig to bigger scale, the mess that was inferno and the lack of SW stuff really has me struggling. Half tempted to sell my Wolves (which will kill me). If i were to do that i would focus on my half 30k half 40k WE army as well as make my custode an actual force. 

 

Any advice or opinions or anyone else going through similar difficulties?

Put your wolf stuff in a box, set it to one side and fcus on something else.

 

When the time comes and you feel the bite of Morkai's fangs, break them back out with renewed enthusiasm :)

 

Use slayers as wolf guard and deathsworn as wulfen and you will be all set for 40K with the Wolves

Yeah, I feel you man! Hobby burnout is a real thing. Your work is super impressive, and you are also incredibly industrious, so if you can find some fluff to inspire you then you're going to knock it out of the park! :)

 

I'm a big fan of the Black Library and Forge World publications, so I reread the Badab War stuff, and it got me excited about 40k Marines again! I have decided to start a 40k Minotaurs SM army. 8th is very different, so it should be a nice change.

 

Maybe have a look at some other BL or FW things to inspire you? "The Beast Arises" is great so far (I'm up to book 3). ADB's "Black Legion" novels have been awesome too.

 

And definitely don't sell the Wolves!

Yes, absolutely. When 8th hit I broke out my orks again, and then ended up getting a little burned out painting a few dozen ork boyz.  Then I switched over to Moonclan for Age of Sigmar, and then got a little tired of that... Currently I'm working on my Alpha Legion again, even though I'm in the same sort of situation as you are - very little 30K around here currently due to 8th edition.  That said, I see that we're both in the Atlanta area, so if you're ever in the mood to help me fumble through 7th edition rules, I'd be up for some Horus Heresy at some point(would probably have to be on a weekend though).

@Dantay: Definitely keeping the wolves, thanks for stopping me from making a terrible mistake haha.   i think it's time i finally got a display case, i will stick em in there for now.

 

My issue isn't so much of a hobby burn out or lack of passion. It's more i am not sure where to go due to 8th and more importantly due to scale creep.

 

I just feel weird about putting a bunch more money into current size marines that wont be the norm in a year or so.

 

@caillum: I am already on the second ADP black legion book, absolutely love it really has me motivated and i am re re re listeing to betrayer for the 4784743637 time.  Going to continue my late heresy/40k eaters. Bout to start a late heresy Delvarus.

 

@Greyedout:  Id love to meet up for some HH,to be honest i have only every played two games and both were in 7th but could still be fun!

I understand that, maybe my Wolves will be extra aggressive due to "little man syndrome" :D

 

Using models like Ashen circle though for destroyers etc.... The reasoning behind that would be that they have bulked out due to being proto wulfen or the radiation effects of the weapons that they use 

 

For the rest, use taller bases, so they look in-scale to bigger models. An extra mm or 2 might make all the difference & a shim on the underside of those lovely resin bases might do the job.

 

It will be iteresting to see the scale of the new Space wolf models when they get released.

 

Fortunately most models from the HH will be cross compatible with 8th so gaming with them shouldn't be too difficult
