Glad someone did a more public BA one! If I could have figured out that github crap I'd have posted mine. Ah well.

At least now I know how to adjust my own repositories to suit my preferences. No more waiting on updates for this guy.

Nor for the rest of us on this community if you continue to post them here!

Thanks again for the great work - three cheers for NTaW!

P.S. I did as Brother Lemartes suggested on my iPhone this time and it worked fine. Similar to your steps but actually slightly quicker / easier:

- Tap Dropbox link

- Tap arrow button top right

- Tap Direct Download

- Tap 'Open in BattleScribe'

Done!

Now that I've done the work I'll keep it maintainted, but something to be sure and clear about is this comment:

Just make sure that if you want to preserve any local changes, you increment the version number of the codex - otherwise BS will download a new version when it gets updated.

I definitely incremented them when I saved (it was part of the saving process), will that help when/if people refresh their repository?

I love when things get easier. Glad to hear it!

I figure less steps than me is good, but if you're running into more steps than what I posted something's gone wrong and it might be worth resetting everything. Man I'm curious about what's been updated now...kinda want to see what's been done differently than me...but then I'd rather do just about anything else now that that broad strokes are done.

Pretty sure I still need to edit the Terminator Captain entry, but I may need to make a whole new entry since our current Captain can upgrade to Terminator armour and that's why there's two profiles in the roster to begin with. That 'Captain in Terminator Armour' is just as valid an option as 'Terminator Captain' unless you're looking at the Archangels Demi-Company which specifically asks for a Terminator Captain.

Par for the course on editing and general attention to detail from GW. Still gunna buy the book eventually if they don't release an amalgamated Codex in hard copy.

Think I've found a glitch. When making a Lost Brotherhood Detachment with Lucifer Armoured Task Force, I get an error:

Predator Squadron must have 1 more selections from Predator (minimum 1)

... even though there is a Predator in the squadron.

I noticed and fixed a lot more than just that, here's an updated file:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/gxkxz61hey502et/Blood_Angels_Codex_%282014%29%20Angel%27s%20Blade%20v.1.catz?dl=0

I think the last thing for me to nail down is if you have both the Angel's Blade and Lost Brotherhood Strike Forces in one Roster all the choices show up for everything despite the AB not having a DC Core choice and the LB not having an Archangel's Demi-Company (etc. etc.).

By all means, keep the feedback coming. Apparently it's what reminds me to upload current files to this thread.

I don't have all the files with me, but taking a glance you shouldn't have to conditionally show/hide the various formations - their 'category' should correspond to their appearance in the roster slots (ie. ABSF Core, DCSF Command etc), and they'll then show up correctly.

(this is why you see a lot of entries marked *, ', or (xxx), so the authors can keep track of what they're referencing, as a dropdown with 10 instances of 'core' isn't hugely helpful!)

^ yeah, I get that it's supposed to work that way....it doesn't though. I always check other repositories to see how it's done/what I can copy over to save time and be sure I have it right and there's a lot of weirdness in this category. Currently not caring about what shows up since it doesn't seem to be set up properly and it only happens if you have both the Angel's Blade and Lost Brotherhood Strike Forces in one roster.

Current file:

Fixes:

-Gilded Crozius rule added

-Stormravens as Dedicated Transports for all DC squads in a Strike Force or Lost Brotherhood as per the 'Final Flight' rule

...I feel like I did other stuff but I can't remember.

Out of curiosity, for those who have and haven't used this file, are you having any issues with 'checking for data'? I've been able to update mine no problem without changing which BA file I'm using.

Also, for those who aren't using this file (might be hard to comment because anyone reading I would imagine has switched over to this), has you BS kept up with the Angel's Blade changes? What version number does it have listed when you go to make a roster for your Blood Angels?

I've had no problems updating as of yet.

Perfect.

7th Ed v64, BA v47 here - is that right?

Yeah, those are my numbers. Curious as to whether these have somehow been pushed out for general access or not.

Let me see if I can ask the same question in a different way. If you're not using my file does the one 'the internet' provides have the Angel's Blade stuff and if it does what version is it currently at?

Just updated my BS files, and I'm getting the Angel's Blade loud and clear! Looks great!

V34 and yes it does include the angels blade etc...

Perfect. No reason for me to do anything else if someone's finally got the public file up to date.

So testing it out...im wondering if im not understanding the eviscerator option in assault squads but it seems that it a full 10 man assault squad we cant take an eviscerator...is that correct?

If you want a quick fix, delete your data and update it with the public BS file that has the AB stuff added (according to Silverson).

I won't be able to get to this again for a little while, so you're stuck adding what you need and ignoring the little red exclamation mark for now if you really want to use my file.

That's now on the list to fix though!

fixed:

-eviscerators (first time copying how other people did something didn't work and the way I thought it should work was correct)

-death company jump packs (ok, so they were broken because of the Stormraven DT addition...shhh)

Not that i can tell so far, but I might switch back to yours just because you did a great job and put a good bit of time into it.

Edit: I only switched to public because the jump pack issue and I had to make a DC list that day.

So Battlescribe v2 is now fully out - I'm not sure if this'll break any of the existing data (my lists open fine) but I've been playing with it in alpha for a few months now so we should be able to sort any fixes asap.

Also, NTaW - a key change is that the data and catalogue editors have been merged, so formations and detachments are contained within each codex's data. In practical terms, this means no more dependency on the 'master' 40k file - they're all now fully independent.

Also also, in a purely geeky sense, we've much greater control over conditionals up and down the force chain (eg. indirect ancestors) AND we can now change the name of the units - so renaming a Land Speeder to a Land Speeder Typhoon, or a Pred to Predator Annihilator, etc, depending on weapon choice. Not vital, but, er, fun?
