these will be done randomly, also i'm gonna prepare for the next assault.(which i will now name, as dragul incursions, for the crimson dragons and the vengeance lords. and i'll keep the black crusade name for the traitor legions that still follow chaos.) i in doing this, have created a 3 sided force of humanity. those that serve the imperium, those that follow chaos, and those that rejected both to follow the path of the dragon.

A NEW DAWN: THE 9TH AND 11TH REUNITE 

 

With their forces slowly restocking and the fact they have turned from the ruinous 4, the crimson dragons search for allies. They still have the titans and the few tech priests that stayed with them, but they know this will not be enough. The 5 upon returning to the planet of the sorcerers, debate amongst themselves on what needs to be done.

 

"perhaps we can trick the orks into fighting with us? just promise them a "good fight" and they may do it." said vulgrim

 

" you're a fool, the orks would just attack us too, if not just go for us. we need an ally that won't betray us, or attempt to control us." spoke dante, with his burning sword in hand.

 

" what about using human greed and desire to fuel our goals? convince them to rise in rebellion against the imperium." suggested a tired grim lock.

 

"thats all well and good, but we need stronger allies. brother kwylo you have been silent in this, what are your thoughts?" salazar said, as the talons turn to kwylo.

 

Kwylo looks at them all, watching their faces and gauging how they'd respond to his suggestion. He holds silent for a moment, then sighs.

 

"we may still have an ally, the sons of malice may help us." kwylo spoke to his brothers.

 

"true but they serve a "god" called malal, i'm not sure if they will." said grimlock. 

 

"they are our brothers, they have never betrayed us, and we have owe each-other many debts." said kwylo, ending the matter.

 

"but how will we find them? they haven't been seen since we sent them away to protect them." said vulgrim.

 

Kwylo looked at them with a raised eyebrow and spoke again.

 

kwylo: did it never occur to you why we chose this particular planet to call home?

 

The others look between themselves, not getting it.

 

kwylo: this planet is RIGHT! next to the system we sent them to.

 

The other talons look shocked, then they burst into shout, calling for them to go and meet their cousins. Kwylo silenced them again, and took a vanguard to bring solidus to the dragon emperor.

The dragons arrive in  ships still painted in their old legion colors, This was to avoid any of the ships being fired upon. They were greeted by the sons of malice in changed colors, and heraldry. Kwylo steps out first, and stares into the face of solidus. He had become a daemon primarch, though not of the known 4. It seems he had chosen the path of vengeance.

It was then that solidus the soldier of sorrow spoke.

 

solidus: so sons of morpheus, finally come to visit? where is you're father? i would have thought he'd meet me himself.

 

kwylo: he was struck down and is now cosigned to a throne, i was asked to bring you to him.

 

solidus looks down at kwylo, suspicion in his eyes, before speaking again.

 

solidus: oaths and brotherhood aren't as binding as they use to be. what does he want with me?

 

kwylo: he wishes to ask for an alliance, between the 2 legions. to unite against those that betrayed us both.

 

Solidus considers his words, watching each marine for even a hint of falsehood, before deciding.

 

Solidus: my punishers, shall go with me.

 

kwylo nods at the stipulation, and watches at 11 marines step forth. WIth that, the primarch and kwylo set off. Kwylo filled solidus in on what he missed since being in the warp, he was not surprised except for morpheus tearing off helios's wings.

 

"i never thought he would do something like that, but people change." he remarked before they landed on the planet.

 

Kwylo led them through the gates of the red tempest, and into the throne room. Morpheus looked up to see who entered, then a smile graced his face.

 

"solidus, it has been millenia, too many millenia since i saw you. it is good to see you again." morpheus said, his eyes shining.

 

"they did not exaggerate your wounds brother, now whats this i hear about you wanting to join forces?" said solidus getting to the point.

 

It was unknown what was said in that room, but solidus left and the dragons had gained the vengeance lords aide.

MYTHICAL FIGURES OF THE LEGIONS (under construction)

DANTE- CRIMSON DRAGONS

it was by his choice, that he stay with morpheus, guarding the throne. The only times he leaves that post to fight, are when the need is greatest, and the enemy is too close to discovering the location of the shrine-world. He is considered a myth by all the descending crimson dragons, only the original talons know the truth. Many call upon the power of the "burning beast" during times of need, using their anger to fuel their transformation. These would become known as the "belials" knowing only the call of battle, they are kept in cages till they are needed.



SOMBRA - UNHOLY SIRENS(FORMERLY SONS OF SHADIUS)

He took hold of the legion after shadius ascended, and couldn't be bothered with his "imperfect" sons. He reorganized the legion, and changed their name. He kept the colors, so as to mock their gene-sire. He ascended to daemonhood, but did not abandon his brothers, but lead them truly into the worship of slaanesh. Through his actions, the sons of shadius, became known as the unholy sirens. Their bodies and minds changed by being filled with the dark power of the prince of excess. And so they moved forward, seeking vengeance upon the crimson dragons for nearly destroying them. Sombra still knows the long war, and so gathers his brothers, for the time when the legions would again smash their way to terra.


KRATOS - DIRE WOLVES

The " wolf of khorne" as he came to be known, was a merciless beast on the battlefield, killing friend and foe alike. He carved the highest mark of khorne onto his own heart, and charged many institutions of psykers. He is followed by the most violent and insane of the followers of khorne. His warband "fangs of blood" contains the most savage of the dire wolf legion.

The 11th and greatest of the punishers, he leads the 11th company, carrying the tome of cold justice. He deals with the highest of punishments, often ending in executions.

2ND BLACK CRUSADE 

 

ACT 1: A NEW LEADER

 

After the brutal revenge of the crimson dragon and the curse of morpheus, the traitor legions have splintered into warbands. Many of these warbands stayed true to an aspect of what their former legion was like, while others took on new ideals. The princes of the legions either ascended to daemon-hood, died, or were missing. This left a power vacuum in the warp, where thousands of warbands were fighting each-other for control. Among them, the " lords of excess" warband was gaining strength. It was a warband descendant from the unholy sirens legion. The leader of this warband was william "the blessed", he was the captain of the 6th company. He now serves as the leader of the lords of excess, and has led them on many raids. His renown and acts, have gained him the alliances of three hundred other warbands. His dark gaze now turns toward imperial space, and the prize beyond it. 

 

 

William looked across his army, built on the blood of those he had slain, his beautiful voice, masks the horror he has become."how are the preparations going slave?" william looked down at a mortal slave he had taken from a raid, a few years back. The man looked up at william with fear on his face," we're nearly ready my lord, some late coming warbands are arriving. we'll be ready in mere moments." the slave said, not wanting to arouse his lord's anger. The "warmaster" of this black crusade willaim, sneered at the slave."work faster, or i'll use your flesh to feed those cursed hounds of khorne." the slave fled as willaim spoke, hurrying to do his master's work.

 

"soon i'll do what morpheus, and the primarchs could not, i'll conquer the imperium!" william laughed  to himself.

 

"don't forget what you promised us william, we want the fire lord." a hoarse hollow voice said.

 

"you'll get him anumas, just follow my orders!" willaim snapped.

 

"as you..wish..willaim" anumas said, before leaving.

 

The forces of the black crusade have been started, now he needs to gather a few more followers. THIS ENDS ACT 1

2ND BLACK CRUSADE 

 

ACT 2: GATHER A LARGE FORCE

 

 

William had gained a large following early in his campaign, but he knows more warriors will be required to bring the imperium down. He sent envoys to other warbands he knew, like the "fangs of khorne" and the "hand of nurgle". The splitting of the traitor legions, has caused enough forces to not stay true to their gene-sire. This means they will be easier to sway to william's side, along with some of the formerly loyalist warriors who have joined chaos. He also bargained with some of the powers of the warp, he planned to offer them the flesh and souls of the slaves they'll take on their assault into the imperium. 

 

 

"the 2nd black crusade, how do we know this one won't flop like the last one?" a chosen of khorne demanded.

 

"tzeentch has blocked my ability to see the outcome of this crusade." a lunar fang said.

 

"i believe the gods are with us in this, as such i will put aside our feud and join." a dark apostle spoke.

 

"i'm so glad to hear that, cause i'll be requiring each of your expertise in this crusade." wililam said upon entering the room.

 

"wait, one of the sirens is the leader of this? i never signed up for that!" yelled a direwolf. He was quickly calmed by the dark apostle.

 

"hear me out, i believe we can do what our gene-sires could never do. we can bring down the imperium!" william declared.

 

The other leaders of the their warbands grumbled about this, and talked amongst themselves. One of the newer chaos marines spoke up.

 

"what of the crimson dragons? surely they hate the imperium, more then they hate us." he said. the apostle laughed, and replied" they value only three things above all. respect, loyalty, and brotherhood. our gene-sires abandoned them and we paid the price for it." at the end of that, the other marines agreed. Wiliam stood tall, and once his army was gathered he signaled the attack on imperial space.

2ND BLACK CRUSADE 

 

ACT 3: ASSAULT THE IMPERIUM

 

The planet of alpha centuri was a hive-world of great renown. It was a place for entertainment, and joy. The planet sat in the alpha segmentium, and rarely was attacked by xenos, and never by chaos until today.

 

 

The planetary Governor Henry the 3rd, was a fair but greedy man. He would honor the rights of the people, but he would also bleed them dry if given the chance. People hated but respected him, and he put down any rebellions with quick efficiency. The planetary defense forces, were strict and strong. They served to deliver justice where they had to, putting many to the sword from various high crimes. Henry made sure his troops would be able to handle anything from rebels, to xenos. He never in his life, dreamed that chaos would put them to the test.

Dark arcane energy flowed around an altar with the eight pointed star of chaos, around that were a hundred cultists chanting. The cult was dedicated to chaos undivided, and was preparing a ritual to be granted the power to take this world and many others. They spoke in the blasphemous language of daemons, and sacrificed many souls to please the gods. It would be six day before they gathered enough to open the portal, on the 6th day the gate they made, burst open and william's chaos marines charged forth from the planet. The sky turned purple with warp energy, and the chaos warships descended from the heavens. The attack was so sudden, that the planet was unable to fight back efficiently, and were defeated. The cultist that survived, marched henry to the large altar of chaos and sacrificed him. The chaos forces continued after that, plundering world after world, drawing the attention of 4 chapters descended from the archangel and fire angel legions.

2ND BLACK CRUSADE

 

ACT 4 : END THE LINE OF ANGELS (under construction)

 

Gabriel of the silver hands chapter met with Briar of the "scarlet wings" chapter, to aide the other two loyalist chapters that have already gone into battle with the chaos forces. The "white knights"  and "chained fist" chapters were fighting the chaos forces, on the world. They were burning the world with exstermanatus, reasoning that all those monsters devoured the innocent. The other two chapters hurried to the loyalist side, and got ready for any retaliation. 

 

"that was reckless of you gerald! you might have killed the innocent!" screamed gabriel in his vox coms, and keeping a loaded bolter aimed at the center of the blast.

 

Gerald stared gabriel down, and with conviction spoke" i am aware, but better they die quickly then suffer the horrors those chaos marines would have inflicted."

 

They would have argued more, were it not for the bolter round through a white knight marine's skull. The chaos marines taken advantage of their arguing, to open fire on their positions. The loyalists quickly fell back to cover, and returned fire. The area became locked in war as traitor marines and cultists attack the loyalist marines.

 

"KILL THE LOYALISTS!" screamed a chaos raptor of the lunar fangs, as he led his brothers to assault the chained fist marines. These words were echoed by the other forces of chaos. 

 

The chaos forces charged, the khornate warriors shouting cries for blood and death. The chapters of the 2 angel primarchs stand ready to face them, hoping to buy time for reinforcements to arrive.

 

"FOR THE EMPEROR! KILL THE HERETIC!" yelled a white knight marine, as he charges the enemy line blasting his storm bolter. The others followed suit, forming a line of loyalist marines and charging into the enemy. Swords were swung and bolters fired, the chaos marine waves crashed upon the loyalist line. The four chapters stood their ground against the onslaught, their faith unyielding. They fired as one after the other, giving time for their battle brothers to reload. They would not falter here in their minds, the memory of their primarchs demands they hold the line.

 

Meanwhile william and a select few sorcerers were gathering on a hill overlooking the battle." rain death upon them, and keep the sacrifice going, i want them depleted when i make my final move. The sorcerers bow to him and begin their attack. The loyalist were holding the line when the spells hit, they were unprepared and many of their brothers fell to it. They barely had time to retaliate when they faced attack on both sides, bolters and daemons on side and chaos magic on the other. This trap caused them to fall back to the ruins of an old church, where they hid behind the walls and rafters.

 

"this may be the end but if we die, we do it in service to the emperor and our primarchs." gabriel said as he loaded his bolter with his last mag. The others agreed with him, and prepared for one last charge. One marine speaks up during this "sir, a fleet of the "blades of terra" chapter is enroute. they've brought 20 gaurdsment regiments." the others nod in understanding, and prepare to buy them some time.

"great prince of excess, i your loyal servant offer the souls and flesh of theses beings to your glory. i ask to be remade holy in your image, to show these worms the glory of slaanesh!" chanted william as he sacrifices the souls of all those beings on this world, using a piece of his father's sword as an anchor.

The traitor marines had dropped their empty guns and just straight up charge the building in a blood-crazed frenzy, waving their weapons around and howling like animals. The loyalists fire everything they have into the advancing mass, they eventually ran out of ammo and so drew their weapons and charged as well. Both sides unknowingly feeding the ascension of william.

2ND BLACK CRUSADE - ACT 5 (under construction)

 

ASCENSION

 

( outside the church)

 

Warriors loyalist and traitors alike, fought and died on the "holy" ground of the church. The call of war was too strong for the forces of khorne, and they eventually attacked the other chaos forces and even each-other. The loyalists hacked and slashed through the traitor forces but were still outnumbered, the librarians among them feeling the signs of a dark ritual in the church. They reported this to the chapter masters, who then ordered them to go and halt it.

 

 

(IN SPACE)

 

The "blades of terra" chapter fleet was leading 20 regiments of guardsmen, toward the planet. They received the message for aide from the marines on the planet, and came to answer. The fleet quickly fired upon the traitor forces still in space, while the chapter sent drop pods to planet-side.

 

(ON THE GROUND)

 

The four original loyalist chapters were surrounded on all sides by the traitor marines, then the drop pods slammed into the chaos forces. The blades of terra launched out of the pods and instantly opened fire on the followers of the dark gods, supported by the remnants of the other chapters. They fought with even more ferocity, some of the sons of helios came under the influence of "helios' scar" and brought bloody tallies on the enemy.

 

 

(UNDER CHURCH)

 

During the fighting above ground, the librarians of the 4 original chapters entered the catacombs of the church, following the taint of a chaos ritual. They followed the trail of warp energy to the center of the catacombs, unaware that they have an unknown stalker following them. They reached the center and upon seeing william chanting in the daemon tongue as the energy rose, they instantly opened fire. The bullets went flying into the skulls of some of the cultist chanting with william, hearing their deaths he turned to the loyalists and grinned." welcome cousins to my little party" around them chaos champions came out of the shadows. 

 

The master librarian of the angel's fist chapter stared william down and growled."YOU ARE A TRAITOR , AND WILL BURN!" at that the librarians burst into action, fighting the champions with sword and bolter. William smiled as the master librarian that spoke out against him, made his way toward william. There was murder in his eyes, as he gripped a relic chain-sword.

 

"might i know the name of the marine, who comes for my head?" wiliam smiles arrogantly, brandishing his powersword.

 

" i am lorkan, and my name and face will be the last thing you see traitor!" lorkan growled as he charged forth, his rage exploding as he swings his blade.

 

The two dueled, across the ritual circle as loyalist and traitor die around them, powering the spell to unknown ends. Lorkan slashed and sliced at william, who just blocked with a bored look on his face. Wiliam caught lorkan's next strike, then kneed him in the face. Lorkan dropped his blade and was thrown to the ground, wiliam standing over him, powersword raised.

 

"goodbye weakling, you have failed to entertain me" wiliam sighed as he brought the blade down, only for a bolter round to knock it out of his hands.

 

Wiliam turned to find the source of where the bullet came from, until he was shot in the arm. He howled in pain, as a figure walked into the light. The figure looked around and simply stated "by the decree of the crimson lord, you shall pay in blood." with that that figure attacked. The figure moved so quick, along with the fact of what he said, shocked wiliam enough that he barely noticed the figure chop off his arm.

 

The other traitor marines attacked the figure, but were met by heavybolter rounds and warp lightening. The few unholy siren marines picked up their fallen brother and dragged wiliam away into the warp. The figure turned and vanished as well, leaving the loyalists to deal with the errant spell and ritual. They eventually quelled it, and the 2nd black crusade was routed. So ends the 2nd black crusade.

(PRE-REBELLION) THE PUNISHMENT OF TEMPLAS 

 

During the great crusade the veil priests and their primarch were a very religious legion, every world they conquered held a church or temple to the emperor when they finished. They gain the highest level of imperial compliance on the conquered worlds, but have the lowest number in actually conquering them. This was a major issue for the emperor as he made them for war not missionaries, so he went to the world that the veil priests were just finished establishing religious reverence to  him. He sent charon and his grim-reapers to destroy the main city, to which charon did without compassion.

The people of the city looked up and cheered at the sight of their god's warriors, all the way till the guns opened fire. The reapers gave no quarter as they ravaged the city, bringing down churches, businesses, towers, and all. Templas heard the destruction outside during a sermon he was given on the emperor, he went out and saw the devastation being caused and that the reapers were the ones unleashing it. Templas commanded his sons that were with him, to protect the people while he goes to demand the cause for this purge. He takes his ship toward the imperial fleet and went aboard and met with charon and the emperor.

 

"WHY!? what have these people done to deserve such a fate?" asked templas to the emperor, noting that he hasn't stopped this, so it was sanctioned. The emperor looked at templas and stated "you went against the imperial truth, as have they. thus they pay the price." he turned to charon. "finish it." the emperor said with all the chill of winter. Charon nodded grimly with a short "for the emperor" and pulled his sons back, and used a localized extermenatus on the city. Templas was forced to watch it burn, his hands raised as if to catch and snuff the fire.

Once the city burned to naught but ash, templas looked up to the emperor and asked "why make them suffer for my faults?" the emperor looks at him and said "to prove my point" and then he was gone. Templas fled the ship and returned to his homeworld to grieve, which is where morpheus found him, and sowed the 1st seeds of betrayal.

OF KNIGHTS AND DEMONS PT 1: THE BEGINNING

 

 

( ISTAVANN 3 pre- rebellion era.)

 

The great crusade was in full swing now with the finding of the all the primarchs, though not all was well. After the reports helios, hades, and atlas gave the emperor on morpheus, he decided that something had to be done. He received reports of a rebellion of istavan 3, 9 large armies were surrounding the planet and holding back imperial forces. "thats just perfect for what i need" the emperor said before sending the order for morpheus and hades to punch a hole through the blockade, and kill the rebel leaders. Morpheus was furious when he was told, though he knew he couldn't go against a direct order. Hades was angry as well but held his duty to the emperor over it and set out. They went with their legions to the imperial fleet, both wanting to get this over with and not be near each-other again. When they arrive they are immediately sent to the emperor for briefing, and are in anger over what he told them.

 

 

"emperor you can't be serious! it's bad enough that psyker prejudiced oaf locks away his psykers, but you want me to work WITH him!?" morpheus shouted,angrily. Hades was not amused "if it weren't for the emperor' orders, i would purge you just like "them". Now quit you're whining, we have a planet to purge." he spoke, then moved out to cleanse the planet of rebels, morpheus still angry but followed with what he had to do. The two primarchs gathered to their legions and set out to break this rebellion.

The battles in space were brutal with high casualties on both sides, neither show any signs of stopping. The rebels going by the name "the Orion alliance" have held out against the imperial army, inflicting grievous wounds into the opposing forces. Rockets, debris, and dead ships surround the area, as the two legions of the emperor arrive to aide the imperial army. The imperial knights legion took the right, while the gilded demons attacked from the left. Together these two legions decimated a good chunk of the rebel fleet, and through that opening dived through, guns still firing and bringing down other rebel ships. When they got close to the planet, they bombed cities, to provide places for their forces to land. This would end their part in the space battles and begin the ground war.

OF KNIGHTS AND DEMONS PT 2: TENSIONS  

 

The primarchs after clearing a space and landing, deployed their troops to deal with the ground forces. The imperial knights attacked at the front of the imperial retribution, while the gilded demons weave great storms of psykic power against the enemy from the back. The imperial knight "chapter" that led the charge was a special group of legionaries, coated in dark grey armor. They were the "iron crusaders " specializing in frontal combat, and considered the finest of hade's sons and exemplars of the legion, no psykers can be found in their forces. They lead the main assault on the rebel cities, purging them of those who would betray the emperor. They did this all the way to the final city which was more like a fortress, they charged the gates while the gilded demons  fired at the walls. The leading "cult" of gilded demons firing was the "cult of the tigre", it was dedicated to the white tiger and wore the colors that would later be adopted by the dragon priests of the crimson dragon legion.

 

THE IRON CRUSADERS

The rebels held for a few weeks more, before the legions broke through, and wreaked bloody vengeance upon them. The knights killed in orderly lines, presenting an impenetrable wall of blades. On the opposite, the cult of dragul were bathing the area in warp fire and laying waste to all that stood in their way. 

 

Morpheus led the way for his sons, shouting " flay their souls! and bring down fury!" as he burned the traitors alive. He only did this to reap revenge for the death of his sons, he no longer cared what the emperor decrees but plans to secede. Hades was also leading his sons, cutting across the battlefield. His mace crackling with the powers bestowed on it by morpheus(much to hade's chagrin) and is used to break the bodies and weapons of the rebels. These two forces along with the imperial army breaking through, caused the orion alliance to retreat. The imperial army heads after them, eager to finish the work the sons of the emperor started. This left the two legions and their primarchs, and it would be here that an "unremembered" event would come to pass.

Morpheus spoke to his sons and told them to prepare to head home, the demons were leaving but were halted by the imperial knights.

 

"what is the meaning of this hades?" morpheus snarled at the knight of the imperium, subconsciously gripping his halberd. Hades looked at morpheus with a grin,"the emperor has rescinded his ruling at venice, meaning that you are to stop using sorcery at once.or face judgement at my hands" he stated with a smile. Morpheus seethed with anger, and finally broke." NEVER!" he bellowed, the cry taken up by his sons, as they stare down the imperial knights. 

 

Hades laughed"thats what i hoped you'd say, now prepare to be "censored" " with that his sons charged, opening fire on the demons. This did not go unanswered, as the demons that were with morpheus at the time(cult of the white tigre) met in battle with the leading imperial knights(iron crusaders) and so began the battle of blood and ideals.

OF KNIGHTS AND DEMONS PT 3: KNIGHT & DEMON CROSS BLADES

The two legions engaged in bloody combat on the world of ISTAVANN 3, the 2nd time marine fought marine, though both unrecorded. The marine barreling down on each-other, blood spilling on the ground as marine killed marine. Morpheus and hades fought their way to each-other, determined to end this in one battle. The legionaries around them either making way or(in the case of being from the other legion) were slain. Morpheus unrestrained himself, letting his full psykic might show as he prepared to face hades. Hades likewise prepared for this, his war-hammer crackling with power. The two met in the center, their weapons clashing in a bright shower of sparks then moving faster then the human eye could see. They struck back and forth, back and forth, the legionaries fighting around them, trying to end their own battles to aide their gene-sires.

 

Morpheus swung great strokes across the land, trying to hit hades"you have made your GREATEST MISTAKE!" he yelled as he struck. Hades blocked the blow with all his strength and retorted "you are a violator of the law of the emperor and shall pay it's price." he slams the hammer into morpheus's side, causing him to take a knee. Hades swung again hitting morpheus in the face, this sent him to the ground. "your time is nigh" hades said as he raised his hammer for another strike, and thats when morpheus struck. He fired warp lightening into hade's chest and slammed him to the dirt, on his back. Hades looked up at morpheus and upon seeing the massive build of energy, looked at him defiantly. Morpheus roared to the skies as warp lightening smashed into the imperial knight marines, and sparing the gilded demons. It was upon reaching hades that things went awry, for a iron crusader was still alive from the attack and upon seeing his lord on the ground, leaped into the way of the attack. The lightening fried him and his armor, and worked it's way up his body. Hades quickly caught the warrior and cradled him as he died, morpheus and his sons left the planet with their dead. Hades still holding his son who sacrificed himself, raised his hammer to the heavens and screamed.

 

 

 

 

No records were kept of this event, but it was noted that the demons and the knights never deployed together again.
