Primarch Movie Cast

Reckon Bale could do a decent Ferrus, and Oldman the big 'E'.

Now, if we want a true beast to do Angron then look no further than Ray 'The Daddy' Winstone. The guy simply is nails! tongue.png

Very true....but Ray is getting on a little bit now......and these Primarchs are meant to be immortal demi-gods....I doubt they'd have his wrinkles....

Ray "I am a cockney schlaaaag Winstone" Malcador. Can you imagine? Ray using his psychic powers instead of his hard nut?

if you want outdated.....James Cagney as Fulgrim

"MADE IT, MA! TOP OF THE WORLD!"

*turns into snake/butterfly daemon*

Ok, ok....I know the acting is terrible....but for pure aggression and strength my vote for Angron goes to...........

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson

And what about Vin Diesel for Vulkan?

I'd personally switch those. Vin's weird, menacing animalistic performances as Riddick put me in mind of Angron.

And The Rock isn't the worst actor ever. His ability to play charismatic and easygoing characters would make him a good Vulkan.

Curd Jurgens in his prime would have made a great Malcador, his preformance as Bismarck in Fall of Eagles is how I envisage Mal when I read of him.

Thinking about it - Bismarck and Sigismund have more than a few things in common - both incredibly strong willed men, soldiers first and leaders second, more inclined to listen to the young Corporal with the wild idea than the grumpy Reichsmarshal with bars of medals un-earned.

Malcador I think is more akin to Churchil or Clemencuae (sp?) in terms of his sheer personality, political power and prowess at public speaking.

How about Tom Hardy, Kit Harington, Hugh Jackman, or Jason Statham for a younger bunch?

Jackman with his archetypal role of the Wolverine is shouting Russ to me (then, Liev schreiber could go there too).

Mr Statham is an enigma for me.  Good martial artist / actor....but a primarch?  I just can't see him pulling it off.  Tom Hardy is a good choice of the new breed - his Bane was awesome!  But which primach.....I think he would make a great ***expunged from Imperial records***

I must slightly disagree Brother, my reading of Bismarck from AJP Taylor, Steinberg and even old Field marshal Moltke would put Politics above the army, his service in the reserves was pretty bog standard and was only an honorary member of certain regiments that he wore the uniforms of, an act that drew the ire of members of the service who dined and socialised with him. That is why I would place him with Mal, politicians first but with a wise intellect on military matters yet apart from Generals and Primarchs.

I can certainly agree to that - I guess his personification in Mein Kamph had an effect on me (admittedly it was biased by the author) - perhaps Sigismund would be more akin to Rommel in that respect?

In acting - at least for Statham I could see him as a first captain but not a primarch, he's much more of a strong right hand than a leader.

Perhaps as I'm sure someone mentioned previously Chow Yun Phat for The Khan (aside from his general appearance he is a fine martial artist and a great actor), he is able to portray the single minded ruthlessness required to herd warriors into battle, the charisma to ensure their fealty and the strength to prove his own worth.

Topical question. Where would the late Robin Williams have fitted in? I know there's not much room for comedy of any kind in the 31st Millennium, but it would feel... wrong not to include him in some way.

Perhaps one of the Remembrancers?

Vulkan: Djimon Honsou

Curze: Ben Foster

Lion el'Johnson: Matthias Schonaerts

Ferrus: Russell Crowe

Fulgrim: Alexander Skarsgard

Rogal Dorn: Daniel Craig

Leman Russ: Travis Fimmel

Gulliman: Eric Bana

Sanguinus: Ryan Gosling

Khan: Ken Watanbe

Angron: Dave Bautista

Mortarion: Tom Hardy

Perturbaro: Christopher Meloni

Horus:

Corax: Jason Clarke

Some of these choices may seem unconventional-but all these guys know how to act, and have an undeniable charisma. The only one I have trouble picturing is Horus..

Cary Grant - Sangunius

Rich Burton - Dorn

Peter O'Toole -Mortarion

Lee Marvin- Curze

Telly Savalas - Horus

James Cagney - Perturbaro

John Wayne - The Big E ( the voice alone sells it )

Steve McQueen - The Lion

Claude Raines - Angron

Clint Eastwood - Ferrus
