val kilmer would make a brilliant Fulgrim,   russ = can't think of his name (wolverine in xmen movies)

Val Kilmer from... 20 years ago? He's not quite Primarch material these days.

This may just be because I'm far too into Rammstein, but I'd like to see Till as Ferrus. Hell, the guy's already :cussing huge. He's also got the right amount of gruff-ugly-manface.

He's like 50 there... It could work. I can see it.

I actually think that Robin Williams would have made a good Ferrus. The square face and the fact that he could do some very fine, serious acting. Good Will Hunting and The Dead Poet Society spring to mind when thinking of examples.

The irony, (not intentional), of this is that I first had this Thought the day before Williams died.

@Raktra- That guy looks like Ron Pelrman's and Vin Diesel's love child. Speaking of which, Ron Perlman would be a great addition to this film, love that guy biggrin.png Considering he usually portrays a man who is misunderstood due to his appearance, I'd say slap a beard on him and call him Leman Russ.

Anyways here's FW's interpretation of Ferrus-

And here's Michael Shannon as Zod in Man of Steel-

med_gallery_55261_5223_126657.jpg

Not only is the resemblance pretty close but he does an excellent job of portraying a biologically engineered "man" who is entirely devoted to his purpose in the movie. I absolutely love his final speech http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyEQqm91Q-8

I'm going to assume voice acting, because I really can't see any other way to go about this...

Horus - Mark Strong (watch this with your eyes closed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOB26XGLWb8)

Lorgar - Joachim Pheonix (based on Gladiator he does poisonous little :cuss very well)

Vulcan - Djimon Honsu

Guilliman - Danial Craig

Kurze - Mark Hamill (No, I haven't lost it; this is the same guy who has been voice actor for the Joker in practically every Batman cartoon in the last decade. No-one does insane better)

Fulgrim - Benedict Cumberbach (oscillates between sociopathic monster and fop far too well)

Perturabo - Micheal Shannon

Dorn - Russel Crowe.

The Khan - Ken Watanabe.

Malcador the Sigilite - John Hurt (who is One Of Us, apparently)

Whereupon I run out of ideas...

Trying not to destroy the budget of this film series with too many A-Listers but guys who still have enough gravitas to play Primarchs...

Lion - Mark Pellegrino

Fulgrim - Mark Gatiss if he was ten years younger. IMHO Harry Lloyd would be better as Lucius.

Pert - Karl Urban. Right kind of brooding and a decent actor to boot

Khan - Tadanobu Asano (played Genghis Khan in Mongol, and did a good job!)

Russ - Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lannister from GoT). Give him hair and a beard and let him be the clever savage

Dorn - Iain Glen

Curze - Cillian Murphy would do the mania of Curze really well, I think.

Sanguinius - Tom Hiddleston (interchangeable with Cillian Murphy, really)

Ferrus - Michael Shannon would be perfect as Ferrus. Brilliant suggestion BassWave.

Angron - Ray Stevenson as mentioned above by Schnabel.

Roboute - Paddy Considine

Mortarion - Sean Pertwee

Magnus - Tempted to say Arnold Vosloo purely for the Mummy connection... Or Eddie Marsan

Horus - Mark Strong. All day, every day. Can go from glorious hero to absolute villain. Looks good bald too!

Lorgar - James Callis (Gaius Baltar from the BSG remake). The right kind of self-righteousness.

Vulkan - Controversial, but... Vin Diesel. He's got the geek chops and I reckon he'd do Vulkan well.

Corax - Jai Courtney if he was ten years older.

Alpharius - Andrew Scott (Moriarty from BBC's Sherlock)

And unless I've missed it...

Can't believe no-one's suggested Sir Ben Kingsley as Kor Phaeron. Creepy, strong-willed dynamism. Also, Udo Kier as Erebus.

Prince Phillip should be Kor Phaeron.

Look into his eyes, and your hearts, and know what I say is true.

Am I the only one to have watched Guardians of the Galaxy and gotten a "Grax the Destroyer is less-crazy Angron" vibe? Also, why not have Larry David play Kor Phaeron? biggrin.png "C'mon join the heresy. Be the master of your domain!"

Larry David... I'm going to have to curb my enthusiasm on this one as I'm just seeing him merging Kor Phaeron with elements from Clear History where Kor Phaeron sold his 10% share in the start up Eccelesiarchy just before the Heresy along with plenty of Chicago jokes and maybe some part about saying how Malcador really captures the homeless wizard look quite well.

As for Micheal Shannon he does wide eyed crazy a little too well; case in point if he had reigned that in just a bit, especially before the Kryptonian army's defeat, he would have done far better. He might be better suited to a role like Angron where they can just let him loose in selling crazy.

Now as far as the Emperor is concerned there has only ever been one actor that captured the look perfectly, but he's sadly dead now and would be far too old even if he were alive. Who you ask? Ricardo Montalban. I always thought he would have been perfect both in appearance and in acting ability.
