+It's 3 "wounds" at Armor 12 AND/OR 4 wounds at Toughness 4; read the rules sections "Shooting at Chariots" & "Fighting Against a Chariot" in The Rules.
+it's d6 Hammer of Wrath hits at Strength 6 AND 4 Strength 5 Rending attacks
+12 inch move
+6 inch move flat out
+Fearless

+Can reroll charge dice

-You cannot join a unit any longer so easier to pick out.

Maybe I'm dense, ok I am, but if you take Logan on his sled, he cannot disembark. Also, the chariot has 3hp. And the targeting player can target the chariot. Meaning, Logan effectively has one less wound if he pays 70 points for the chariot? Am I missing something or is this all accurate?

If accurate, is it worth the HoW attacks and distance for the trade off of losing a wound? On only AV 12?

In assault, yes, your opponent can allocate to Stormrider, although it is AV 12. You control where hits go when it's. Being shot at, though.

Ultimately, the issue for me is that outside of the new formation (maybe), Logan is just a big, dumb, combat monster, and he isn't that much better than a wolf lord on a Thunderwolf.

This post is a reminder for me to add Independent Character's joining Formations as an issue for discussion and resolution.  Really more fitting for the Errata/FAQ Team to address in a Rulebook document, though, since it applies across all Factions.

i cannot wait for you to elaborate on this.

Something some folks started discussing in this thread on the Void Claws Formation.

I wanted to bring a 'hook' to the issue over here in the primary FAQ thread as a reminder.

Hey All,

Does Ulric's 6" preferred enemy and/or the Wolf Banner bonus apply to friendlies if he or it are inside of transport vehicles e.g. Wolf guard unit + Banner + Ulric inside of a Razorback giving bonuses to units within 6" of the vehicle?

Would the distance measured be from the vehicle hull or centre?

Thanks

Anyone have anything on this? I played a game on saturday using ulric in a vehicle, with a 6" pref enemy bubble, and it was totally ace. Would like to know if its actually a viable tactic :D

May have one for all of you. Pardon me if I missed it somewhere but in the Wolves Unleashed Detachment, you get one unit from reserve a turn without a roll. But do you roll before you get that auto reserve or after? Again, sorry if I missed it.

Rift, I'm pretty sure you nominate the unit to automatically come on before you start rolling for others.  So, no seeing who would otherwise be coming in based on your rolls first, and then picking a 'loser' to come in too.

In the 'Space Wolves Wargear List' section, storm shields are listed under the 'Melee Weapons' heading, but in the 'Wargear of the Fang' section, they fall under 'Special Issue Wargear.'

I assume that storm shields should be taken as melee weapons, since the wargear list is referred to as the location from which wargear is chosen (and that's where the point values are), but this is inference reliant to some extent on common sense.  I'm not aware of any official ruling on which section of a rulebook should trump which other section.

This is definitely rule lawyering territory, but if someone were to make a case that storm shields are special issue wargear, and therefore can be taken by rune or wolf priests (or something of that nature), they would be able to cite a section in the codex to support their claim.  And citing the black-and-white text of one's codex, barring errata, is pretty much the standard of proof in this game.

This is a contradiction that should be resolved explicitly to avoid confusion.

Look closely. Rune Priests can take items from the, "Ranged Weapons, Special Issue Wargear and/or Relics of the Fang lists" (emphasis mine). Storm Shields are not in the Special Issue Wargear list on p.47 or the other two lists for that matter, so Rune Priests can't take them. The fact that they're in the Special Issue Wargear part of a later section of the book is irrelevant.

To put it another way, if Storm Shields are special issue wargear, how much do they costs? The book doesn't say, after all, so are they free for Rune Priests? 200 points a piece?

Yeah as squark says, when list building - the unit entry tells you which wargear lists that unit/character can take wargear off, and then you get the items/points for that list on p47.

The section later in the book which describes what various bits of wargear do has no bearing on this from a list building/points point of view, its just giving you the rules for those items - although yes..it would be nice if someone at gW checked to see that the headings in that section matched their lists.

....But then, the reason this may not be the case, is that some items fall on more than one list on p47 (ie is there a terminator and melee list with duplicate items on at different prices??...if so, there'd be no point repeating the rules in the section at the back).

Yes, terminators have different wargear prices owing to already paying for more expensive wargear in the upgrade to terminator armor.

Cyberwolves are T5 in the summary but T4 on all data slates. Needs an errata but I would assume fore now we should go by the dataslate?

At least in the eBook version. Can't confirm on the print version.

same on the printed version

rps

i don't know if anyone has posted this up yet, or if i read it in another post somewhere, Harald was a differant number of wounds in his summary to on his dataslate, on the summary he only has 3, which i assume is because they forgot to add the +1 for the TWM

With Cyberwolves I voted in the majority: it's listed as Toughness 4 in both the Fenresian Wolves listing and the Iron Priest listing, only 5 on the summary.

.... but there's only 2 stat listings for Harald so it's split. The fluff says he's has a Company, therefore he should be a Lord and 4 Wounds, so I'm counting that as 2 votes to 1 majority.

The data slates are the official unit entries for all forces, the summaries are just handy references, and for at least 20 years there have always been at least a few mistakes on them, invariably, for every single codex.  Why they continue to screw up those summaries is beyond my comprehension.  But there you have it; always go with the actual entries for rules, and pen and ink change your summaries where necessary, if you actually use them for reference.

I'm seeing the str 9 power fist on TWC / thunderlords debate in few other sites( 3++) might be worth clarifying

To me its clear but these sites can have a large influence

There was a discussion in the official rules section here that went down hill in a hurry. Don't think this will be settled without GW releasing a faq.

So, who among you is up for going through this thread and compiling a list of the questions/issues that still need to be addressed by the Errata/FAQ team (i.e. those that haven't been already resolved within this thread)?  I need a volunteer...

sure I can do that

Will list them then we can check the best way to ask the questions clearly

Compiled list of questions

1)When Thunderwolf cavalry and Characters on Thunderwolf mounts use powerfists do they strike at Str 9 or Str10?

2) What are the correct stats Cyberwolves are T5 in the summary but T4 on all data slates.

3)What is correct stats for Harald deathwolf he has 4 wounds on his dataslate but 3 in the summary

4) Is there a limit on the number of relics a character can take?

5)How are helfrost weapon wounds allocated? do they have their own pool?

6)Can Logan's chariot be given rhea Battle of Terra Legacy of Glory from Ia2? Would IWND then apply to Logan's profile too?

7)Is the target of Jaws of the World Wolf allowed a Look Out Sir! roll since it doesn't cause a Wound?

8) Can fenrisian wolves attached to character board a transport?

9)How does furious charge work with murderfang when his claws have a set strength value? Does he add the furious charge bonus to his Claws str

10) Can a character join the void claws and gain the benefit of their special deployment?

11)How does the 'Wolf Guard Thunderstrike' formation work in relation to the 'Drop Pod Assault' rule. If the formation's drop pod is selected as part of the first wave of drop pods, do the terminators arrive at the same time, or does the presence of the terminators prevent the drop pod from arriving in turn one?

Thats the ones I considered unanswered. I think I would like to tidy up the questions so they are asked in the most clear way and dont result in unclear answers. Any suggestions are welcome

If you feel i have left out your question please tell me
