Very nice Atia, Im wanting a pre-heresey paint scheme myself. I wish I could paint that good

Glad you like them :blush.:. I wish I could paint as good and fast as some others here too  !

Lookin good as always!

Thanks buddy :teehee:

Got some leaked fotos on facebook from the new WD. Death Guard will be ready for pre-order on 9.9. and be released on 16.9. Mortarion will cost 110€ and there will be three webshop exclusive Plague Marines.

So save your money, boys!

Personally I'll be going HARD IN DA PAINT with the new release. I sold most of my Ad Mech stuff so that I can buy:

Mortarion

2x boxes of Termis

1x Tallyman (rumour is that he is a build option in the termi box)

1-2x boxes of Plague Marines

1x Chaos Lord

1x Typhus

2x Plagueburst Crawler

2x Bloat Drones

1x Land Raider

Codex (Limited Edition)

Datacards

This will easily be 300€+ but it'll give me a complete DG army that lacks nothing. I've also ordered a DG Contemptor and a Storm Eagle.

My first unit of plague marines from the starter box, they are such lovely models. Made a few minor tweaks, made 2 with blight launchers, a cleaver on one, and the flail on another.

Here is what's in line, made some Death Guard warp talons from the jump pack dudes.

Good looking plague marines- you added the new weapons seamlessly!

Cool idea. Any plans on making them look more ragged or defacing the Imperial symbols?

The text for the Datacards namedrops a couple more stratagems: Grandfather's Blessings (I'm pretty sure this is in the CSM codex already), A Cloud of Flies, Blight Bombardment, Putrid Detonation...

My guesses for what these do:

  • Grandfather's Blessing: Rez a dude with one wound or heal d3 wounds on a model. Same as CSM.
  • A Cloud of Flies: -1 to hit for a turn or +1 to cover bonuses (so they count as being in cover even when out of cover)
  • Blight Bombardment: I'm betting this is something to do with the Blightcrawler thing that's been teased. Probably a "combined attack" in the style of the Linebreaker Bombardment that Vindicators can do.
  • Putrid Detonation: This one sounds interesting. My guess is that you can use it when a DEATH GUARD Character/Vehicle/Unit gets wiped out for a chance to do some mortal wounds to everyone around it (with Nurgle Units being exempt hopefully).

I think these all sound fluffy and cool, but not really as universally useful as something like generic CSM's stratagems. Hopefully they get access to stuff like VotLW e.c.t.

Yeah we will really have to wait and see what that Tank does, it really can be anything. I do like the Stratagem, it's niche but excellent if you do have 3+ units near that character, which is difficult to do but at times can happen. Looking forward to more but I do think that Death Guard will come out most certainly good. The prime reason for that is their great Wargear selection to begin with. How I believe that many wish their regular Troops would have such a selection of amazing weaponry, regardless of their amazing defensive stats.

Looks more like an anti-infantry artillery tho.

Agreed. Mortars are designed to blast apart infantry in cover/trenches. The Plagueburst Crawler also has - very, very likely - Plague Spewers/Belchers as sponson weapons, hence his name crawler, as he will likely move up the field. Maybe the sponsons will have 12" range (Crawler sounds like he won't be very fast).

For anti-tank we have Helbrutes, Land Raiders, almost all FW stuff and Predators. Morti will also destroy anything he comes into contact with and the Termis/Grave Wardens will be able to deepstrike and unload onto any tanks.

I am really hyped for the Codex! I think Death Guard will be very strong indeed. PM are reasonably priced at 19p a pop, have great weapon options and good synergy with the rest of our army. The Bloatdrones, Plaguewind, Plague Flamers etc. make us already very good against hordes. Add to that our survivability (my Plague Marines and Poxwalkers absorb a TON of firepower against elite armies like Primaris Marines) and hopefully some strong new anti-tank options and we have the tools to take on anything and come out on top.

I think they are Plague Spitters, the same variant the Drone uses. They certainly look identical in the group shot.

It does seem to have an alternate frontal weapon, as seen in this other picture, so we may get options for the sponsons too.

Oh it has sponsons options too  :smile.:

I deem it very likely we're seeing Blightlauncher and Spewer options on it. With the tripple Blightlauncher as it's special tank weapon design option (like the Predator Autocannon etc).

I also wouldn't be suprised if it will end up being called a Typhon Siege Tank. It looks like a Thypon, roughly has the size of it, would match the 'typhus' name designs Death Guard like etc.

Cheers,

Alright guys.. The new Terminators did it.. I think I'll be picking up some DG to play this edition. I know somethings will change with the Codex but do you think DG units are disgustingly resilient enough to have a mostly footslogging force?
