I really thought the grey was resin, and I really couldn't work out what you were on about with the burning words. Now I look, it looks like paint.

The red looks good to. I think a mix of both schemes would be good. The gal vorbak should be red I think.

argh the indecision is catching ,i am not sure what colour to do the army now, laugh.png

but i am sticking with this scheme for the gal vorbak

still some tidying up to do but you get the idealaugh.png

cheers DC

The definition in the claws is superb! You can actually understand what is going on: what is flesh, what is bone, what is tooth, what is armour and what is weapon! This is monumental work! Not to mention the fantastic use of blue as a spot colour!

And the flames on the armour? Smoothest flames I've ever seen!

I new this would be worth it!

wow cheers guys colour me happy ,as i started the gal vorbak i wasnt sure if the idea would pay off.

jawdrop.gifNo words, those are just amazing looking...The flames on that one...

thanx brother much appreciated

They are incredible. In terms of colours, were I doing WB, I'd do the standard goons in the grey, and the elite units in the red. I'd use red trim on the grey to tie it in, and then you get the best of both worlds smile.png

cheers mate this is looking the most likely idea ,unless i get another dose of the indecision buglaugh.png

They look really good. I thought the FW ones looked a little messy but you have nailed these guys.

cheers bud ,i was going to use the FW ones as a guide but couldnt make out much so in the words of frankie " i did it myyyyyy waaaaaaayyy"msn-wink.gif

Simply flawless brother... As mentioned above, if you don't want all red use it as an elites thing with shoulder trim to tie then together.

thanx mate ,yep this is looking like the way to go

Those Gal Vorbak... so good!!

You've done such a great job with the Gal Vorbak colour scheme that I'd encourage you to use it across the whole force.

Looking forward to some more

thanx brother ,mmmmm indecision senses tinglinglaugh.png

Amazing stuff mate! Love those Gal Vorbak among the best I've seen.

Word Bearers were my first love as well and you really seem to do them justice.

thanx to a kindred spirit

cheers cap much appreciated .i think forgeworld did an awesome job on the sculpts and they are a lot of work but a fun challenge as there is so much detail

That's it. I'm never doing Word Bearers. If I did do them, I'd need to have a unit of Gal Vorbak, and there's no way, ever, that mine would top these. So it's not going to happen.

Excellent work, brother.

cheers sgt. go for it spread the wordbiggrin.png

Very impressive, the Gal Vorbak; such fantastic models you have certainly done them justice mate. Really nailed them

Gal Vorbak for the win!

Impressive mate, what you got planned for the bases?

And just see where your mood takes you when painting each marine...some red some grey lol

Keep it up

cheers bud ...bases i think are going to be rubble and bits and maybe a dark earthy colour to slightly contrast the grey

and theres morebiggrin.png

the techmarines have been busy and got some heavy guns ready

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30/daemonclaw/DSCN0589_zps317b9386.jpg

and we have old freddy krugers big uncle built(head separate for painting) had to do a little repair work on the rear of his right shoulder pad but other than that its all good

but boy were those claws fiddly!!

and some more gal vorbak progress

thanx for your time guys

stunning as usual buddy! really brought out the detail in those big buggers!...buy some more

least this way im getting a sneaky peek at what the army I will be facing will include! mwuh haha..assuming of course I ever get round to having something resembling an "army"biggrin.png

ohhhh "Coooooooorrrrrr" phaeron...looks a beast! and looks like you didn't have any probs with the sicaran!

The skin tones are somethign else no? could we have a close up of the heads? I suspect there is a lot of work there but black does not help much - especially with so much going on in the rest of the model...

Yes fantastic work so far. Just got my Gal Vorbak, but haven't started on them yet because one of them was faulty. The model standing on one leg had a hollow leg - <1mm of resin and gaps at the foot/leg join. Very bendy (and it's the foot that attaches to the base) and some missing detail, so I've asked forge world for a replacement.

I was planning on using green flames after seeing the forge world paint job (complementary colour for red and all that plus all my other Word Bearers have green eyes), but after seeing your photos I am drawn back to blue.

Have you thought about changing any of them? I have 10 and don't really want any duplicates plus I want to model squad upgrades - power fist for the sergeant and a couple of tainted weapons for the squad. As great as the sculptures are, I'm not too sure how easy they will be to modify - very fixed postures and arms jointed at inconsistent places, making even basic arm swaps difficult.

Looking Good DC.thumbsup.gif

thanx dss7

cheers mortis ,more gal vorbak mmmmmm?

kor phaeron is a cool beast oh but those damn claws kept pinging off all over the place ,i nearly ended up with three fingers magee rather than edward scissorhandsbiggrin.png

yeah sicaran was a cool build ,only problem was the autocannons were a bit warped

Great work! I'm looking forward to see much more of your work.

cheers gizur there will be more but it may be a bit slow to start

cheers semper ,yeah there is so much detail in the face area even if it does seem to spread into the armour itselfmsn-wink.gif

will get some closeups soon

I like the small bits of blue in the models, gives them a real unearthly feel.

cheers demon2027 unearthly sounds good to medevil.gif

cheers chainmachete ..man thats bad luck on the model ,my sympathies ,cry.gif hopefully FW will quickly rectify it

i was going to do green flames to break up the red also but my blue colours were close to hand and i am glad they were

as for remodelling they are a pretty static build without much scope ,but never say never .i may get some more and attempt some alterationdevil.gif

DC out

Awesome demons! smile.png

cheers man i cant help thinking they would look so cool in your nightlords colours

Really nice work!

cheers man much appreciated

now a bit of an update,i think i have settled with the main troop colour as grey and will go red/orange runes to match in and leave the red for elites etc as has been suggested by you kind fellows.

here is how the main guys will look (just got to get word bearer shoulder pads)the third guy is effectively the finished scheme
