Hey all, So i'm struggling to name my new Chaos Knights army. Lore-wise they are servants of the dark mechanicum forge world Ghalmek, and as such, they are oathed to serve the Word Bearers legion. I am painting them in Word Bearers colors as well (since i made a chaos knight a few years back and painted it in word bearers red). I was thinking of naming the knight lance something like Ghalmek Templaris or something, but i dont like the templaris bit. Any suggestions or ideas? My two painted Knights thus far...

Its been a long time since I have painted anything due to a serious incident that happened to my wife but now she is on the mend I am able to get back into the hobby. As it goes im starting from scratch I had no idea what faction, race or if i ever wanted to paint anything GW again, but a walk into my local store and a nose around I was stuck by the the new Chaos models ( in the early 90's I had a Iron Warrior army that was almost at 6000 points ) i've tinkered painting Space Marine, Ork and Eldar but the Chaos Gods have always had a soft spot in my heart. I picked up the new start collecting Chaos Marine set and I was amazed at how far they have come on so my mind was set on it ( I also picked up the Chaos Lord and the new Sorcerer ) Next was what legion do i go with, so after sitting down with the box and looking at the sprues I decided on the Sons of Lorgar. The reason for that is I love the idea of fielding any of the 4 dark gods in one army ( and Deamons!!! ) So as i had a Sunday afternoon to myself I decided to start building and try out my colour scheme Thanks for looking CR

Anyone interested in a written batrep? Why is Hedonism-bot (Contemptor) laughing maniacally at Valoris while he fights a devious Word Bearer's Sorc? Link: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/345184-prots-quickie-batreps-custodes-vs-chaos-pics-2k/?p=5030198

"Bring fire and bring shell and heap all upon the pyre. With flame and gun we shall make an end to the withered husk that is human life. And in the blazing furnace of battle we shall forge anew the iron will of yet a stronger race. As wriggling maggots upon a rotted corpse they glut themselves upon the rank flesh that is the Earth. Such is mankind, blind and bound to a dying world, nought but the writhing worm that mires itself in the corruption of its own progenitors. They who feast today do so in ignorance of their mortality. For tomorrow they must die or change, and, if changing, then forever open their eyes to the dark hunger of eternal life." Hey everyone, I've played Word Bearers in some variant or another for the past fourteen years or so, always fiddling with and changing my army, burning it to the ground every once in a while before resurrecting it from the bit-strewn ashes. With the crusty Age of Adulthood upon me, tho, I figure it's finally time to set these bastards down into a form that'll stick. I'm starting out by entering into this year's Librarium Painiting Challenge, but hope to keep going with this WIP blog as a way to keep motivation up. Let's see how it goes. This army was originally inspired by John Blanche's CSM from the 2nd Edition Chaos Codex: There's a mix of devotional imagery, baroque machinery and base savagery in that army that speaks of something filled with black, vile intent, and I hope to tease out some of that same surreal madness. Of course, lately, I've had other inspiration, as keen eyes will be able to tell. Anyhow, less talk, more models: My first squad, ten mean, rowdy boys from the wrong side of the galactic core. This is the subject of my LPC vow for the year. They're not quite done (you may notice the one chap on the far right with no arms...), but are nearing completion. Next up will be some gap filling and basing - any thoughts on that last one will be appreciated. This guy's my favorite so far, though his armless friend may challenge that status soon enough. So, comments, ideas, criticism and the like? All welcome!

DarkApostle7's Word Bearers and other meddlings
DarkApostle7 posted a topic in + WORKS IN PROGRESS +
I am back! (again) After my last thread was rightfully purged by the inquisition for a lack of uploads and due to the increasing motivation isolation affords I feel its about time to have another crack at uploading the never-ending WIP of my Word Bearers force and sticking to it most things ill upload will probably never be 'finished' but are close enough, only requiring a few tweaks Alot of the brighter red armour eventually needs to be redone in the darker newer style but I dont yet have the heart to destroy my old efforts First up is the Dark Apostle of the Chapter of the Broken Diadem, now the 6th host Daroqus His 30k version prior to his fall to chaos Both Versions compared Old converted version of Argel-Tal, contemplating the adding of his Custodes spear Melee Contemptor Dread, needs a chaos star adding on the left shoulder when I get superglue for the resin Captain Neskar of the 3rd company Moritat Ahz-Tal Terminator Command squad WIP may need a few tweaks to make it more Chaosy Converted Leviathan Dread, also WIP Bloodthirster with a dead Ultra on its base Daemon Knight 1, missile launcher and axe needs finishing as well as the base Currently I'm finishing up a Primaris into chosen squad conversion and a small Dark Mechanicum element- 13 replies
