Night Lords 2nd Veteran Terror Company - The Deimorii

Aight so this is my idea for my company of Night Lords. First things first; this army is not in any way meant to be actually gamed with. I am going strictly for looks and for a possible Apocalypse style diorama set up once complete so I'm hoping that this conversation will vary more towards fluff and speculation and less towards the actual rules. 

 

My idea is to make the entire company based on veteran terror squads with auxiliary units of Night Raptor squads, Terminator squads and Heavy Support/Destroyer squads that I will serve as terror squads as well. I got the idea from the First Company Atrementar being composed primarily of the elite Terminators of the entire Legion, this will be the same only with the terror squad being the theme of my company. Also the reason I decided to add auxiliary squads of terminators, night raptors and heavy support/destroyers into the overall company chain of command is so that those units can serve their normal purpose of combat specific support of the overall company and serve as terror squads as long as they regularly engaged in terror tactics. I got the idea of the additional company support because i saw that specialized squads made it into the make up of regular line companies such as the 8th, the 22nd and the 77th companies. I also realized that a company solely comprised of terror squads armed with only bolters, combat knives, bolt pistols and chainswords was impractical as a cohesive unit operating independently as a terror company would. It would require support from more specialized units in order to survive and attack more hardened enemies. Also, with the make up of the company being terror squads, the overall mentality of the company would be much more independent then that of a normal line company. A Terror Company would have to be much more self sufficient if it is going to move about sow terror separate of the main body of the Legion. My main goal was to make it so that the First Company isn't the only company comprised solely of specialized veterans and allow my Second Company hold the spirit of the VIII Legion while the First holds its pride.

 

Now rules wise this idea is a complete farce but i think that the idea fluff wise makes sense seeing as we have seen veteran companies with combat specific roles before among the legions; companies such as the Son's of Horus' Terminator Justaerin and close combat Catulan Reavers, The World Eaters' flag ship protector companies the Triarii and as I mentioned before the Atrementar of the Night Lords. 

 

This is my idea of the overall company chain of command:

- Captain Xuros Alexanderix “The Red Moon”

- 1 Command Squad

        * Chaplain

        * 2 Honor Guard

        * 2 Apothicaries

        * 1 Communications Officer

        * 4 Senior Veteran Executioners

- 6 Terror/ Tactical Squads

- 2 Night Raptor Squads

- 2 Heavy Assault Squad (Autocannons)

- 1 Destroyer Squad

- 2 Terminator Squads

- 3 Contemptor Dreadnought

 

I also have ideas on the company's tactics:

-The Heavy Assault Squads and two of the Contemptor Dreadnoughts providing overwatch heavy fire support on hard targets like tanks and heavy infantry while the Company Command, Terror Squads, Terminator Squads move onto the easier targets with the Destroyer Squad and Close Combat Contemptor Dreadnought provide danger close support on more threat worthy hard targets while the Night Raptor units move in with flanking and routing of retreating forces.

 

So, now that I have spilled my guts on all of my ideas I want to know your thoughts and ideas. Do you think it would work fluff wise? What kind of make up would the company have, combat roles and tactics?
