Okay so I need a pack marking idea.. I was also going to do Brands symbol on a knee plate, do I just do it in blac, like it wa engraved in, or do the knee pad white then the symbol in black... Just worried mor colour will make the models a bit too busy.

Good to hear it went well!

 

I’d say go for it on the knee! If the color ends up too much you can always mute it with a wash.

Grieux, cheers, the colours are  pretty much inspired by your past Wolves work, just not so well executed.

 

Okay question time. 

 

Tried to put transfers on my wolves last night, but curved plate is a pain in the bum and I have pits sticking out. Can I still use microsol on it to soften it down or is it too late now that the decal has dried?? ( I have not yet put a top coat of gloss varnish on it)

Nope the horn is from the humble gw dwarf set. I just cut it down to be a banner top. AoS meant age of Sigmar.

Will have to take a peek at the avatars of war slayer kits. The beards and axes may prove useful

Anyways, as the uys in the SW forum advised I work on my resin pie rather than te plastics that I was gonna paint then ebay,

 

I have decided to ebay the small mountain of plastic now, in the hope I can sell it and add some more resin to a later vow.

Man, that's a hell of a lot of plastic to be shifting. I'm a hoarder and could never do it, especially the real old school metals. Hope you get a fair price for them.

Yes it is a lot to be getting rid of, and that did not include the 25 bikes my friend bought off of me :D

 

I am a bit gutted to see some go, because as I look at them, I think, damn that is pretty cool, or I can really appreciate some of the conversion work.

 

However I know there is little to no chance they will ever get painted ad I game very very rarely, so there is not much reason beyond sentimentality, to keep them.

 

To be fair though, the meal models do not seem to sell as fast as the plastics and I will not be too upset if some of the models remain :)

Back offshore so ETL painting has ground to a halt.

Everything built, primed and some of the layers have been put down but not much.

While offshore I plan to do odds and sods, like the weapon for the dreads and the armour plate details for the knights.

 

Anyhoo.

 

I dumped all my plastic on ebay so offloaded a lot of my 40K Wolves. This has basically cut my infantry by half. As I retained all the resin.

The only items left are 1 pack of Long, 1 pack of Blood claws, 1 pack of grey hunters and 1 old school Space Wolves captain. (I also have 10 of the metal SW terminators which I forgot to ebay)

 

These models may go under the scalpel, or remain as-is but get brand new paint jobs, I haven't decided yet

 

So this is what I have kept

 

Not in the pics are the 40K thunderwolves (18 including metal thunder squirrel) the ebay stuff which never sold (thankfully these were the squads I was going to regret parting with most) All my 40K HQ models. My 4 Knights and 5 BoP tartaros terminators, 30 Indomitus terminators and 5 old school wulfen

Up to now I've "printed" out 5 dreads (ready for magnets and a ton of arms/weapons), 3 razors and 1 "wheeled" Rhino.

Red or green. Have done a wash of Lamenters yellow to give the gem a warm look

If there’s another green details on the dread - go green. Otherwise I’d suggest red for consistency.

I want to remodel the front doors as I made a total hash of putting them on. Going to re-skin them to look like the doors of Valhalla :) Still need to come up with a good design  for them though. Any thoughts on that?

Well I got the metallics done on the plates for my knights and the weapon arms more or less done for the leviathans

 

I was going t do the base colour on the plates, but that didnt work out, as you can see I am a messy painter.

 

New plan is to varnish and mask the metallics, then do the armour plates again with the airbrush.

 

Hoping as the main bodies are all metal construction, they will get done pretty fast.

 

What symbol should I put in the cog on the Atropos' chest plate?

So I screwed up my ETL vow.

Got to a point that I can barely pick up the models now.

 

So a new batch is into soak.

 

5 indomitus

5 varagyr cataphractii

5 regular cataphractiior

5 deathward Deathstroke tartaros terminators.

 

The plan here is to marry some FW space wolves Terminator torsos to the Deathstroke and make a suitable tartaros SW kit. The dual purpose is to act as Hvarls command squad in 30k and work as termites in 40k

 

The varagyr will see some chopping and slicing while the regular cataphractiior might also get some SW torso love.

 

The indomitus may end up with cataphractiior or left over deathguard tartaros torsos.

 

I am hoping this will create 4 distinct SW squads

 

What do you think?

 

Also considering combi weapon and chsinfist load out on tartaros.

 

What is best load out in 40k for cataphractii? For varagyr in 30k it is claw and chainfist but not sure if this is viable in 40k, so advice is greatly appreciated
