After a lot of thought today I purchased a Blood angels gauntlet squad. It was the last box the shop had, and they sold it for 36 euros. They sold tactical squads for 29, so I guess I got a Rhino for 7 :tongue.:.

Anyone here like running Tartaros terminators? Unless you’re taking all twin lightning claws they seem a little schizophrenic with having mostly anti-horde ranged weapons (ignoring the reaper auto, and plasma blaster) with power/chainfists. That being said, they are really friggin cool! Edited by Paladin777

It's because the loudout is restricted to the box in 40k. It's not much different to normal Terminators really.

In 30k they have a lot more options.

Are Knights going to have their own ETL this uear, or are they still counting for faction specifics? *looks at 5 knights*

Doesn't look good for a seperate Imperial Knights counting considering we don't have a seperate Imperial Knights subforum.

Hmmm.. what was the stance on Imperial Knights last time around, or perhaps more pertinent, what will it be? I have vague memories that any board could pledge those

Imperial Knights eh? As long as you pledge for any Imperial forum, then no prob. :)

Depends on the codex maybe... Seeing as when Knights were included previously the game was in a MUCH different state!

med_gallery_95687_14212_1254043.jpeg all basecoated and ready for detail!

You might want to run that by Semper. The ETL start point (and hence the B&Z end point) has always been undercoat not basecoat.

I believe basecoats were allowed to compensate for those with appropriately coloured undercoat sprays (mephiston red undercoat being allowed, for example), but being at the "ready for detail" stage might invalidate them.

I wasn’t referring to using them for ETL, I have plenty of other things that I can enter for that. I’m just posting WIP pics for my army in general.

My apologies. Posting it when you did made it appear you were boarding the hype train with the rest of us!

Still, it's a useful point to make for those wishing to take part :)

Not sure if I should post this here, but I dont want to start a new thread about it. I have the body of a BA chaplain with wings, which I'm gonna use to build a captain smash.

This is just a presculpt, everything is glued with blue tac. I bought a couple of death company shoulderpads for this guy, but the right one doesnt fit quite right. Can anyone who has the actual model tell me if the shoulderpad that was in the original sprue fits in some special way? There is a couple on ebay, but they sell really high and I dont want to buy it unless im sure I wont be able to do my thing with what I have.

edit : this is what I mean doesnt fit

Personally I'd swap the pistol and hammer arms around - at the moment he's kind of got a bandito 'shooting into the air' thing going on.

You could try clipping the top part of the shoulder off to make the pad sit lower, or rotate the army forwards, so the top of the shoulder is more backwards, allowing the pad to sit better.

I've already rotated the pistol to be in a more natural position :P Doing what you suggested would require both a right hand inferno pistol and a left hand thunder hammer, of which I have none ^^. For the story of it, I bought this thing for the right hand inferno pistol to use for a Dante conversion. Using the body for a captain was just an afterthought, and it took my a lot of time to remove the crozius and the pistol without damaging the arms. He's got the death visions man, he has to look a little crazy!

Clip the top of the crozius off and stick a hammer head on?

I did the inverse for my GBBO Chaplain and stuck a crozius head on a thunderhammer arm+haft

Played a Tau list last week. Haven't played Tau in a LONG time.

He brought Stealthsuits, Pathfinders, Ghostkeels, 2x Devilfish packed with Breachers, and 3x Coldstar Commanders.  Stealthsuits are the hidden gem of that Codex. -1 To Hit in both Shooting and Fight phases, and are T4 2W 3+ before cover. PLUS they get drones to shunt wounds onto. Annoyingly resilient for sure, and they can deploy anywhere that is 12" away from one of your units in the Deployment phase.

Coldstars have to get nerfed. They are simply OP. I don't even say that in a whiny way, it's just a fact on paper. Even the hard limit of 0-1 per Detachment is no biggie (my opponent simply took 3 Detachments). Having a 20" base movement, plus four weapons that shoot on 2+ and character protection is almost game breaking. Not to mention when you run them with the CT-equivalent that lets you advance and shoot with no penalty. Now they are moving 40" and shooting 4 melta guns on a 2+, which can not be blocked because they are not Deep Striking. It is DIRTY. GW should downgrade them to two weapons and up their points cost and then they'll be back down into the stratosphere.

Anyways, I haven't played as much as I'd like, but I was harshly reminded about "having a plan and executing it flawlessly." I strung out my SG and the Sanguinor on one flank while castling up my Capt + LT + Ancient to buff my Devs. I spread myself too thin and didn't really do anything. Didn't help that Captain Blender (Capt, 2x LC, Jump Pack, DVoS) whiffed his re-rollable charge, thus letting my scout spam eat TAU overwatch. But at the end of the day, you need to stick to your guns (or swords, in our case) and not let distractions pull you away. Back to basics Winning 101.
