"The weak will always be led by the strong. Where the strong see purpose and act, the weak follow; where the strong cry out against fate, the weak bow their heads and succumb. There are many who are weak; and many are their temptations. Despise the weak for they shall flock to the call of the Daemon and the Renegade. Pity them not and scorn their cries of innocence - it is better that one hundred innocently fall before the wrath of the Emperor than one kneels before the Daemon."

- The First Book of Indoctrinations

"Your daily work brings you closer and closer to the warp, increases your understanding of orderless powers. Gradually, without noticing it, even the most puritanical and rod-stiff inquisitor becomes seduced... The first step is the knowledge. An inquisitor must understand the basic traits of Chaos in order to fight it. In a few years, he knows more about the warp than most untutored cultists. Then the second step: the moment he breaks the rules and allows some aspect of Chaos to survive or remain so that he can study it and learn from it... The third step... the third step is the line itself. When the inquisitor becomes a radical. When he chooses to use Chaos against Chaos. When he employs the agencies of the warp. When he asks the heretical for help... So... are you going to ask me to help you?"

- Pontius Glaw

Welcome, one and all to this very first Inquisition subforum hobby challenge! As the title nicely suggests, this challenge will be all about Henchmen, these courageous (or mad) underlings that carry out the missions given to them by their Inquisitor. While some Henchmen have never even met their master and, in some cases, do not even know that they work for the Holy Inquisition, they are nevertheless part of an Inquisitor's entourage, however far removed.

The aim of this challenge is for each participant to build and paint a model representing an Inquisitorial Henchman of their choosing, though you are also encouraged to create a bit of background fluff for your character.

Entries will be accepted from now until 31st October 12 PM GMT+1. The challenge will then truly start, running until 30th November 12 PM GMT+1. As soon as you post your vow, you may start on your challenge, so no need to wait for the 31st!

Once the challenge is over, a poll will be posted and members of the community will be able to vote for their favourite model.

Please keep in mind that despite the variety and depth of the artwork and fluff concerning Inquisitors and their Henchmen, all entries must abide by the B&C rules and so no Xenos will be allowed.

Finally, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to PM me or post them below!

Q&A:

Q: Is it limited to a single model or can we submit a group of Henchmen?

A: You are limited to a single Henchman model.

Q: Are in progress pictures needed?

A: No, they are not needed, but are definitely encouraged.

Q: What is being looked for: an out of the box guy and here is my henchman, a kitbash to make a henchman, or sculpting all or part or a model?

A: It is up to you to decide how you want to build your Henchman. I'd definitely encourage people to go all-out and create something truly unique, but that is all down to each participants' spare time and motivation.

Q: Is this going to be judged at all?

A: Yes, there will be a voting poll after the deadline has been reached.

Q: After the creating is done will there be a painting challenge for the henchmen?

A: Painting the Henchman is part of the challenge, as mentioned above.

Despite really needing to have an easy evening and get an early night - let none say my dedication to the cause is lacking! tongue.png Here's my henchman, minus some additional bits I'm still working with:

The GS is fresh and probably not that good but it's my first attempt at sculpting something that isn't simple or just a minor addition. It'll probably turn out ok, or maybe you won't notice once it gets some paint on?
