13th Mechanicum Expedition Fleet - WIP

Hello J I’m in this hobby for a time but few months back, I became interested in Horus Heresy novels and game. I decided to start this new miniature and rules adventure and I chose Mechanicus as my new army. What is great that I’ll use it to play both HH and Wh40k because my game friends accept this (I’m a chill n’ beer player) and can always allay them with my large Grey Knights force, Ordo Malleus or Imperial Knights J Two armies in one

For a start, I got/did :

- Izdural von Maar - Magos form WFB VC Writgh

- 3x Thallax Cohort – hard modified Multi-melta looks nasty

- Tech Priest-Auxilla - 1x Adept with grav-gun, 4x Servo-automata (2x Heavy Bolter, 2x Rotor Cannon)

All besides Thallax and Magos main body are kit-bashed and created from raw bits, some GS and guitar strings (low cost in $) . All models are highly modified, because in fuff of mine army, Magos likes this kind of stuff I plan to add 5x Castelax Battle-Automatas and 3x Myrmidon Destructors.

I’m satisfied about them, with fact that Tech-priest Auxilla and Magos (besides Wright old) are made of free, old bits.

For someone, certain minis can look Chaos-like but I guarantee they all are true servants of the Machine-God and The Emperor of Mankind

All models are WIP so all of them will get some fixes and smoothing.

Hmm, but if this is Heresy era, how come there are Grey Knights?

It's cross-game army. Can play it in 40k in alliance and in Horus Heresy alone

EDIT:

I'm going to extend my forces for new models soon, and I'm thinking about some options.

I was thinking about the core must-have models:

- 5x Castellax Battle-Automatas (with some converted weapons)

- 3 more Thallax

- Myrmindon Destructors

The central point of this forces will be one or two, really super-heavy nasty models, because this is what 's mechanicum about :) The choose will be made probably between Cerastus Acheron Knight (sick flamer) and Cerastus Castigator (sick sword).

What do you think about planned reinforcements for my Mechanicum army? Which Knight will be better for my forces?

Or you got some proposals for "super heavy slot" ?

I've gone for the Styrix myself because of the clear mechanicum decoration.
Which knight you go for may depend on what sort of opponents you expect to face, though i tend to just grab what i like the look of and idea of most and then try and figure out how to make that work on the table :)
