Eisenhorn31388
This is a continuation of my other thread in the army list section about the campaign I am taking place in. I figure this will get more exposure here as it is not necessarily an army list, but something to seek advice. After two battles, I now control a spaceport in a campaign my local GW is hosting. This means I can launch an attack on any other planet on the map. Both myself and another player, playing Orks, have decided to launch an attack on the world housing an artifact that will buff our warlords. In order for us to fight each other for the tile, we must ally against the "NPC" players in the campaign. These are the guys running it and they didn't participate so they could do NPC battles. I am not sure what army we are fighting, but I have good reason to believe it will be Eldar/Dark Eldar with Serpent spam. If the Ork player brings a formation with 100 boyz and a warlord and I bring tank gunline is that something that is viable? I am planning on 6 Leman Russ tanks (4 BTs, 1 Executioner and one vanquisher), two primaris psykers in chimeras and a squad of 5 scions in a valk. My plan is to sit back and shoot while the Orks run up the field to wreck the paper thin armor. My only problem is what happens when I scatter onto my ally? I'm not sure if its worth it... Any help would be appreciated... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/299314-campaign-continuation/ Share on other sites
scatmandoo
Serpents are hard to take down unless in rear arc or combat. Scions/flanking sentinels? WarriorFish
It could work, but watch out for their nasty guns that can do a lot of damage especially with their mobility. However with a horde of greenskins to escort them you could be well protected with such great numbers. The perfidious xenos will be unlikely to muster the fire power to deal with both orks and tanks well. I'd not take so many battle tanks though, the risk of friendly fire is too great especially as the nimble Eldars could make life difficult so probably better to stick with direct fire. Exterminators might be good to blast away hull points, as well as Pask - perhaps in a Punisher? Outflanking cheap Sentinels would also be good to upset their plans as mentioned.
