Boomcha!

It's been almost six months since an update, a new personal record. I'd say that I'd try and be a bit more frequent but both you and I know that isn't going to happen, so best just to enjoy the moment or something.

Life has plodded on but the Seraphim squad is finally done. I'm planning to add hand flamers and whatnot later on but I can't face painting another jump pack for a while, they're a proper swine.

The next job is painting up the Canoness, I spent ages searching for a back pack for her until I just decided to try making one of my own. Job's a good'un.

Work has also started on the next squad of sisters. Her sword snapped off just after the photo, part of it pinging off to who knows where; Narnia for all intents and purposes so I'll have to order another one.

And so, as I lurch back into the shadows for another eleventy months, here endeth another update,

That's nice to read!  I'm a habitual lurker but I'm trying a different tack with the next lot, I'm going to model and paint a couple at a time so it doesn't build up into a daunting mountain of unpainted nightmares.

I'm just going to chuck this here as it's technically a work in progress, it's a techpriest I've been working on in the evenings. I've found myself doing more 40k pictures in my off time, I'd forgotten how much I enjoy drawing this stuff.

superb work, these are absolutely stunning, and would be a real pleasure to see in person, even more so to play against.

sculpting is very very well done and you've captured the feel of the sisters whilst making them both more dynamic and more up to date. The slightly steampunk feel some of them give off is pretty cool too.

Then the paint work is very nicely executed too.

Big fan.

Mate, this is... Woah. I'm at a complete and utter lack for words.

You need to get casts for these. Or... I need a really detailed tutorial and bitz breakdown. In one way or another, I have to have a couple of these haha.

Incredibly sweet work, can't believe I've missed this until now.

Keep it up,
BTB

Just read through this plog again and have to say the stuff you've put out is brilliant. You've done the Sisters proud. Keep up the good work. I'm digging the tech priest image, as it's really stylistic and makes me want to see more of your illustration work.

Cheers for the good words! I always knew this was going to be a long haul of a project, a lot of it has been figuring out how to get the sculpting and painting back up to scratch but it's getting there. I just wish I had a better camera that wasn't my battered phone, I'll blag one off of my house mate when he's next taking pictures of his train set (Euphemism or not a euphemism?).

@hushrong Thanks!

@Blindhamster They'll be in a game one day, a man can dream.

@BeatTheBeat I've started the next sister in the squad already but I'll document each step of the one after so you can get an idea of the horror you'll be getting yourself into. pirate.gif

@Dosjetka This thread was always here, skulking in the darkness scaring children!

@Soric Thanks! I've got a deviantart page which is under the same username. I've got a facebook page as well but quite frankly my updating skills are woeful.

The hand flamers are in the wash, I'll get round to them one day!

Haven't done any painting tonight, but I have finished the Tech-priest so that's something at least.

That would make an awesome T-shirt.

"Have you tried performing the rites of slumber and re-awakening?"

I want to like this a dozen times at least, but the B&C won't let me. I almost laughed myself off my chair. Brilliant! :)

Ahem...

@ bazzatron: Both the Sisters and the AdMech illustration are amazing. The sisters have a very original look while also clearly reading as members of the Adepta Sororitas. The Tech-Priest has a wonderfully gaunt and forlorn look. Spectacular work all around! Do you have any more illustrations to share...?

In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war, and I.T departments.

@KrautScientist - Thanks for the kind words! I've only recently started drawing 40k stuff again so I've only got a couple. They're all Imperium related so far, I haven't tried any filthy xenos yet but I feel an Ork on the horizon (take that as you will).

An Inquisitor who was going to be a character in a comedy strip called Ineptus Imperialis that I haven't gotten around to doing yet.

This grumpy Imperial Fist.

And I've just started on this she's at the very rough stage and needs some work

I've been working long hours the last week or so and tonight I'm finally going to get to sit down and do some painting, in the interim though I've finished the Sororitas picture. She's going by the name of Sister Sledge, because crappy reference but excellent name!
