Lucifer how many 3++ saves did he make? seems like it was way above normal...

EDIT:

Are characters splitting their attacks between the weapons they own, like Poly's claw and fist? Or do they have to pick one per combat round, as per 40k rules? Also, is Instant Death in play?

Brother Gideon had served with the Dark Angels for over two hundred of years. In his first mission after being inducted into the scout company, he watched from a distance as Company Master Nuriel was struck down by an Eldar wraith construct. Since that time, he has been witness to the death of no less than 8 Company Master's under which he has served.
After the Deathwing assault on the Space Hulk 'Asheron's Scorn', and subsequent death of Master Sandalphon, he took up the name of Cassiel, in reference to his observance of some of the greatest events that have shaped the current brother's of the Dark Angels. Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to Master of the 9th company.

Grizzled Sergeant Gunther is a pragmatic warrior, preferring to sight his enemy down the barrel of a gun whenever possible, preventing his opponents from getting within striking range. His decades of experience among the Ravenwing have reinforced this approach; many foes have met their end after engaging Gunther, before momentarily losing track of their wily foe in the melee. The next - and last - thing they usually see is the flare of his trusty plasma pistol...

Khadmiel is a member of the Deathwing and a fanatic hunter of the fallen. The Inner Circle is considering him for elevation to the Chaplain status as his single mindedness in hunting the Fallen is matched with his ability to inspire his fellow warriors to unparalleled feats of courage and occasionally sacrifice... In recognition of his service, the Chapter has presented him with the Mace of Intolerance (Mace of Redemption for the purposes of the Arena), a weapon that can be consecrated to become his Crozius after his scheduled ascendance. For reasons that remain undisclosed from Chapter records he has a deep enmity to Dark Angels 8th Master, Master Caleb.

After the exciting and surprising last match, the assembled crowd were waiting for more displays of fine combat.

Scout Sgt Elam in one side, betting on his superior scout armour agility, Vet Sgt Tanhausen on the other side with combat experience and a will to suceed.

The two brothers saluted with a fist to the chest in the warrior's way.

Tanhausen took the iniative, moving closer to get a shot with his plasma pistol. One accurate shot and it would cripple the Scout Sgt enough to take him out of combat. Squeezing the trigger like so many times before, he saw the ball of plasma speed out but to his surprise, the Scout sgt was already gone from the supposed sopt of impact.

Tanhausen followed the shot with a charge of his own, theying to pin down the scout Sgt in place.

Elam on the other hand had other plans. He levelled his prized Foe-smiter pattern storm bolter and shot a hail of fire to the oncoming Tanhausen. In the middle of the rush, Tanhausen did not have time to dodge all the bolts, some impacting with his armour and a fatal one right on the vulnerable neck area, causing a gashing wound almost fatal.

Tanhausen had only time to grab his neck, trying to block the river of flowing blood before for enough time until an apothecary could reach him.

When he tryed to look at his opponent he saw only a ghostly figure hazing away.

With 1 wound characters the dangers are more substantial. It was very anti.climatic but I tried to write it up the best I could so it wouldn't be such a let down. Perhaps next Arena you consider a multi wound character? or a Sgt withbionics... ;)

To be honest, as much as I would have liked to win, the main goal was helping the Chaplain meet the 16 submission quota and participating of a DA event :)

 

I didn't give the profile much thought...just grabbed a decently painted model and threw him to the arena to face the lions...we'll have to name him Daniel :P

Sorry for no updates, but it has been a busy week. basically eat, sleep, work, repeat and not a lot of time to do anything else then shortly browse BnC.

I hope tomorrow or saturday to keep the ball rolling again.

No, this is completely unacceptable! you mean to tell us that this event you organized for those members who simply had to take a picture of a model and write up a single short blurb about it after which we just have to sit back and watch you do all the other work in your free time and for no personal compensation is delayed!? oh the humanity!

Sorry for the long break. RL caught up to me and after an unexpected and extenuating 11 hours shift at work I had to just chill out on the weekend.

Company Master Ramiro strode into the Arena seeing his oppoent was already there, waiting for him. A Librarian would prove a tough challenge...

Askiel turned to face his opponent, Ramiro a seasnoed warrior.. A company Master at at that.

Both Warriors saluted with clenched fists upon chest plate and prepared to fight.

As soon as they were cleared to fight, Ramiro took the initiative and charged his opponent, axe in one hand, mace in another. Unfazed, Askiel fired a couple of bolt shots but they only robbed Ramiro's charge of momentum, giving him time to prpare a psychic power. Askiel tried to immolate Ramiro with Spontaneous Combustion but failed to achieve his goal because Ramiro was already gone from the spot. Activating his Force SWord, Askiel charged Ramiro.

Faster than the librarian expected, Ramiro's mace was already swinging when Askiel tried his blow and caught a mace right on his midriff, breaking ceremite and a few ribs on the process. Stunned, Askiel had no choice but be on the defensive, parrying the lethal axe of Ramiro.

Still stunned, Askiel was forced back for a few second, managing to parry and dodge both axe and mace, unable to unleash an attack of his own.

Ramiro sought to win the upper hand and doubled his efforts, but Askiel recovered and was managing to both defend and attacking, pausing only briefly from time to time to activate the force sword.

Ramiro was managing to get some blows in as well as Askiel but both warriors were protected by arcane energy fields and not easy to disrupt.

In Ramiro's case he had the advantage of aritificier armour so any blow the Iron Halo didn't stop, the armour would.

That was until for a fraction of a second, Ramiro saw the figure of Askiel blurr and felt a sharp pain between his ribs, looking down and seeing the Librarian's sword embed in his armour.

Ramiro battered his opponent away with a kick and battered his oponent again and again with his mace, but no signs of the force field giving in... When the field finally disappeared it was like the Librarian's cloth robes absorbed the blow magically.

Suffer not the witch to live crossed Ramiro's mind while his axe made an arc and when it would seem the librarian would be able to parry the blow, the axe diverted it's predicted rtrajectory and with great finesse embed itself on other side of the Librarian's wounded torso, finishing the fight.

"You win, brother" said Askiel coughing blood. "You have an unusual resistance to psykers....."

"Thank you brother, you fought well but tricks can't surpass mastery over weapons", Ramiro replied...

This time two sucessor Chapters would go in a fight. On one side a Veteran Sgt, on the other a seasoned Commander. As seen previously, a vet sgt soemtimes is very resourcefull, so this match was going to be a good one.

Guntham steals the Iniative, gets close and fires his plasma pistol, A burning pauldron showing scarred flesh beneath as a result.

Despite the wound, Vengen greeted his teeth and advanced, firing his Foe-smiter storm bolter. A hail of fire fell into Guntham but his armour held fast.

Vengen dropped his storm bolter, drew his sword and charged Guntham. He was saluted by a plasma shot but this time he was ready and dodged it expertly.

His sword flew in an arc and Guntham was expecting to parry it, but a concealed pair of lasers on Vengen's gauntlet blinded Guntham momentarily and he missed his parry.

A chunk of armour and shoulder fell to the Arena's floor ending the short fight.

Still dazzled by the swift events Guntham grunted a salutation to which Vengen replied:

"Till we meet again, brother, next time on the same side taking death to our foes"
