So finally finished the barren wastes boards, that is until FW release they're next Strongpoint board.

So what's next, a couple of minor things like some tank traps and craters maybe some ammo boxes, then we start the next 2x2

Well my plan is to finish 1500 of ultras then start a harlequin force for the next board:

 

Matching the bases to the board just adds that extra omff

Let's just say my first game in over a year didn't go that well, I had 6 VP against 11 VP.

 

End of turn 6 my praetor and spartan were all I had left but I completely decimated him in turn 4 5 & 6.

 

Couldn't undo some stupid mistakes I made but I'm still learning.

Meh I have played one game in the past 4 years.  I promise you will get two games in this year, although one may be an interesting 40k to 30k crossover... Have a funny feeling I dont have the dosh to get both a 40k and 30k assembled in the next few months... At this rate I wont even get one of the two done, the joys of now being a sole bread winner for the family.

@brotherSP- I know that feeling brother I know it all to well, but I look forward to a game soon.

 

So in hobby related news I'm sort of stuck I bought a set of quake craters to paint up and attach to the board and some terrain bitz.

 

But I'm currently worried about my motivational state.

 

I've enjoyed painting smurfs but I've burnt myself out pretty quickly.

 

I've just purchased some gear for my iron warriors to start up.

 

But what do I do in regards to RoB????

 

I can continue to expand this board to a 2x3 and then a 3x3 or.......

 

I can start on a trench and fortifications board for the iron warriors, with this I could make it compatible colour wise with the barren wastes board but I'd need 4 plain expansion tiles and to start buying bastions walls of martyrs aegis defense lines and gun emplacements...

 

So help and thoughts

You could take a break and wait for the "Feeling" to hit and get back into it like a Black Templar in an Exit-less room filled with Heretics.

 

If you know you're burnt out, forcing yourself to do stuff wont make it any better :p

 

But, if you're dead set on working on it anyways: If your focus right now is the IW then building a Fortified Trench Area replete with their Iconography and telltale "Iron Warriors were Here" aesthetic, then start with that. You could tie it into the Crashed Thunderhawk as that board being out in front of the Gunline and the TH having been shot down before delivering its Cargo.
