Yes I think I might be!!

 

The mastodon is for a few months down the track though, need to get some backlog cleared first.

 

Had a nightmare with the airbrush just before coming away to the rig.

 

Do all airbrushes have issues with paint clogging to lower pressures, or do I need to thin the air paints down further to avoid the issue?

For each 1ml of gw air paint I add around 3-4 drops of thinner.

 

Or is it just that I am using an el cheapo airbrush... I have given it a full strip-down clan and rebuild, ut got no idea if I have set the needle correctly, Only seems to start spraying with the lever at around 70% pulled back :/

 

Think I need to take a course on airbrush maintenance.

Currently trying to salvage 20 or so Wolves and 5 Templars. The Templars came out a bit too grey, so maybe another wash of nuln oil will help. Alhough they do appear a good bit darker than in thepictures

 

Bladewolf, just so I get this right, cream helms with gold wreaths.

All armour black baring some green on the decoration

Cream shields with gold cross and metal trim.

An interesting way to make the grey darker would be to paint the rear segmented portions of Mk III in a bright color to darken it by comparison.

 

...It might not work though since I haven't really put this to the test.

I'll give it some thought,

 

I did drybrush them up to longbeard grey on the very edges, I'll try some washe in the recesses to make a deep shadow, maybe even switch from nuln to drakenhof.

I would try another wash of nuln oil to try and get them darker.  They are still looking really good @ u @ 

Yellow Helms  blue eyelenses  ( i will get you the exact blue when i get off of shift )

Green laurels on helms 

Shield is cream with gold for the cross and outline

Slips, I thought about your suggestion and in normal case, I would give it a try, for example use the yellow on the ra segments to show the Templars adding the "black to the 7th's colours.

 

However I am planning on sticking pretty much true to BladeWol's scheme, so in this instance I will forego your idea fr now... unless someone can give me a good reason to add more fists to my army :D

 

First thing I am going to try is putting some metallic black from vallejo in the recesses and maybe a little way down the segment to add a bit of depth (that and I have run out of black paint).

 

I have to say these are good practice for Corax.

 

Also I do not have Lothern blue, got enchanted teclis and ice blue, so will mix to see what I can come up with (and check colour charts

 

Tried retributor armour and so far I love it. Got some tidying up to do. Oh and so many fiddly bits like trim and rivets.... If I get a bit further along tonight I will post some pictures.

Thanks Grieux, yeah the head seems to work pretty well. Just got to make sure the banner flows in the same direction too :)

 

Talking of dynamic, folks really should take a look at Grieux's Wolves based on the Vikings series... That is seriously dynamic :)

 

Not tried darkening the plate yet, but faffed about with sme gold and silver., Man is there going to be a lot of rim to deal with.

 

And I need to tidy up all y splotches too.

 

Green for laurels and blue for eyes next,  but is this along the lines f how a Templar should start to look?

They do look badass. Are you planning to make Fafnir as a character since he's the right hand of Sigismund and his name sounds quite like he'd get along with your wolves?

I do have an idea for their backstory, but these guys are done as tribute to Bladewolf, so he might want to have a say in how hey came to join the Wolves...

 

As for Fafnir Rann, doesn't he become the First Chapter Master of the Executioners?

I am contemplating making another 20 man breacher unit, and I reckon a squad of Phalanx Warders would look great in amongst it.

And yes I would expect he would get on famously with the Wolves :)

But wha model to use as a base to convert him?? Dagnammit, now you have my head whirring with ideas, and that means my wie will get annoyed (because my ideas usually involve buying models which she hates!!)

 

I would like to get 2 Polux models though, so I can convert 1 to a Wolf (maybe Ogvai of Tra) and keep the other as Polux.

Twin axes?!? Fafnir is so Wolf and he doesn't even know it.

 

Will have to look into making him at some point

 

For now a small Templar update.

 

Heed to work on eyes, maybe sharpen legion symbol and work on some steel bits. Oh and highlight the yellow a bit.

Been working on the Wolves a little too.

With airbrush issues, opted for ye good olde drybrushing technique for the armour

 

They are still pretty rough just now, as I have only applied base colours and a little wash, still no highlights etc

 

Hoping that paint can do to te helmets what my GS could not :D

 

Also do I paint the lower helm grey, black or keep it red??

Some nugget snapped Geigors knife off completely and then lost the blade. I have fashioned a new blade and decided to reverse the grip. I reckon it flows a lot nicer  now.
