Kizzdougs, no promises :p. Nah I plan to finish the Night Lords to at least 1000 points before cracking on with the Word Bearers. The above was just a little distraction.

Daemonclaw, I think you are my dark apostle, your models being the sermon!

So, looking at the Skittari has made me think over my ad mech stuff, I have a lot of Thallaz, and a Castellax, plus a little inq28 Warband I was building. I will probally grab a box of the vanguard/Rangers and one of those walkers, don't really care how they all fit together. This is a good thing as I will be doing this instead of xenos and it all fits together.

On a side, was just thinking about the great scouring and the Ad Mech. Imagine all the fighting over forge worlds, the weapons unleashed, the Legions of Knights and Titans....

Uh oh....distractions lol

Word bearer is looking good mate...

Sure you can knock up some fantastic ad mech using the new kits!

Just keep having fun working on whatever takes your muse :-)

Look forward to seeing more mate!

Your letting me off because your about to change Legions aren't you :p

Haha haha...:-)

That made me chuckle mate!

What makes you think im gonna paint something else lol...heresy types..so fickle lol

Im gonna try and stick...so should you lol...but you might as well enjoy "having a break"

Cant wait to see what's next ;-)

Fickle? How dare you. Oh wait....

So, a while back I picked up the Imperial Fist command, it's a nice kit, and I really like the mace. Now, I have issues with yellow, which is kind of odd beacuse back in the day I had an Avaland Empire army (yellow and black being their colour scheme, very fond of them, Marius Leitdorf being one of the best Special Characters ever in both background rules and model), so I thought this could be a chance to crack the yellow.

When I think of the Imperial Fists I must admit I imagine the highest level of hero, stoic men who fight to the last, and this segment of the poem Horatius springs to mind.

Then out spake brave Horatius,

The Captain of the Gate:

"To every man upon this earth

Death cometh soon or late.

And how can man die better

Than facing fearful odds,

For the ashes of his fathers,

And the temples of his Gods

Inspired I have gone for the most heroic style I can. Stepping forward itnto combat, sword raised, clutching the companies banner and honour. I plan to get painting this bank holiday weekend, which I have off for the first times in years.

When it comes to my Legion of choice (the VII), I've been feeling largely uninspired for the past couple months, and just like that you've got me back in the game. It's a subtle conversion, yet well executed. Seriously awesome, man.

Could you explain how you lengthed him? Cuts at the waist and below the knees?

That Imperial Fist is both unexpected and awesome... Right out of nowhere, a fantastic conversion in a thread of brilliant work.

On the Legion choice thing, I think what's becoming abundantly clear through your WIPs is that you could do friggin' awesome job of pretty much whatever you put your hand to. Everything you've done so far is something I'd be proud to have in my display cabinet. So build what you wanna build and paint what you wanna paint and damn the naysayers!

Seconded. Unless you're wanting to build a cohesive force to game with, I see no issues with just building whatever strikes your fancy at the time. You've done a great job with everything you've touched so far, no reason to unneccesarily limit yourself if you don't need to for gaming purposes.

Well painting appears to be my downfall, I hardly ever finish a model, mainly because I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I don't meet my own standards. Of course painting more would help raise my standard of painting!

Tyrannicide, yep, cut the waiste just under the belt, and the legs just under the knees. I lost a bit of the detail on the left thigh unfortunatly. I cut away the tabard where I could but this proved difficult for the back one, so I just cut through and fixed with GS. I'm glad to remotivate you, your Imperial Fists are fantastic, I think I am following your method for painting them.

Daemonclaw and Mortis, this is really a one off, wanted to use the model as I had it, and to try a crack the yellow. I've started work on him, and while it's been quite fun so far, a whole army is not something I want to do. (Dark) Mechanicum is planned but I've decided to wait for a codex to hit with Skitarri.

Incoming is more Word Bearers, and something of an ally.

Haha he does look a bit happy. I've changed the head on the Bloodthirster as I didn't like the 'dog' look. As for the dancing, he only looks like that on a straight on shot, I've remodelled the legs slightly so he looks more like he's charging then dancing.

Waiting for Forge World order, considering what colours to paint the 'Thirster, decided to catch up on Vikings, suddenly inspired to build this guy.

By inspired I was like possessed by the Gods. Why XII Legion, I don't know, just felt right. Now last year I painted some World Eaters, I got discouraged because I couldn't replicate my nice dirty white over lots of models (it was ETL so stressed over time efficiency, and failed), but since then Ive experimented with oil paints. I really think I can achieve a nice off white with little effort. I guess I will have to paint and see.

After seeing how well the above model looks, I'm gonna have to try plasticard inserts on my Mk. III Marines. Perfect height.

By the way, the subtler lengthening you've been doing on your recent work looks better than some of your past work, which suffered from looking a bit too overextended and proportionally lanky, IMO. Good call on cutting back a bit. :tu:

I'm not sure how I feel about that Phalanx Warder Axe being on a Night Lord World Eater /glare

I kid, I kid tongue.png

Very nice attitude. Not as OTT As the other ones in terms of pose + Victim but he just exudes "I'm a badass, deal with it" /Shades.

Haha, and I was worried that the Word Bearers would distract you from your Night Lords...

The World Eater is one of your best so far. You really do improve nearly every time. Just do a Shattered Legions force, your talent is waisted on a single legion and I think that you'd find a combined force more rewarding.

Looking forward to seeing your new WE colour scheme :tu:
