Thanks guys

Tyrannicide, I do feel I am improving with my modelling, I agree the single spacer on the legs does work a lot better than two, which really makes the model look far to lanky. With extending the mark III I find you can use the plate segments as a guide for where to cut. On Mark IV it’s easier to just add it at the top of the leg, but with the mark III I feel you would need to extent the armour plating.

Slips, the Phalanx axes are just so nice. I got a bunch of them off Ebay. With the basing, I wanted to go for something a bit simpler. I was feeling my models were getting a bit OTT.

Kizz, everything is a distraction of everything else. Thanks for the words, until 6 pm yesterday I had no intention of building him, he just happened.

In regards to the World Eaters, there is a little history for them. Last year I wanted to do some terminator based true scale World Eaters, veterans of the 21st Company, calling themselves Mors Indecepta, lit. Death Indeceivable, but meaning the inescapable nature of death, which I thought was apt for the World Eaters. In my mind they would be led by a former Techno Barbarian Prince, and I have the perfect model in mind for him

Yeah I have a thing for axes, I think they are a really really cool tool. Chop some wood, cut off a head, so useful.

I did some cleanng up on the WE, removed the skull and chain, it just wasn't working for me, and GS some little rough areas. Here is a shot of the back, I like my models to be well kitted out, they are after all front line troops expected to take an hold positions. The fact that the nails will drive them forward shouldn't effect how the plan for battle. The sgt here has his Bolter slung to the side, a back up combat weapon and some extra pouches. The World Eaters are a faily superstitious legion so there is an Oath Paper attached to the power pack, the last thing he wants to fail while 'lost' to the nails.

Hydra, you never fail to impress

Very envious of your conversion skills...and the level of patience you must have when building your minis..

The World Eater really is something else...I would say an army of them would look fantastic but........lol you know next week your onto ????? Legion haha

Really impressive ;-)

Oh and dont let the bearer of the true word (daemonclaw) try and sway you haha :-)

I had to make an account to say how much I love your night lords, as someone who's making a volkite armed terror squad army too I'm super jealous of your conversions and access to forgeworld; I tend to try and make up for my lack of conversions with my paint job. Again, great work :)

After catching up on the last few pages or so I have to say how much I love the conversions and the great models. Keep it up!

I know this is Hydra's thread but...Welcome to B&C! :D

SkimaskMohawk, welcome to the B&C, I'm honoured by your words. Please post up your own Night Lords, and also check out the Murders Call in the Chaos section, a gathering of the VIIIth legion, both pre and post heresy.

Operative, thanks dude :)

So been painting the World Eater, I really wanted to try and get a look I liked that didn't take too long, so have tried to limit myself to around 5 hours, minus the drying time for the oil wash process. The metals could be better, but that's always been a weakness of mine. The face is also mediocre but passable.

I'm still figuring out how the image function/gallery on this site works but hopefully soon. OT amazing work as always

Get yourself a photobucket account and then run your photo through it. It'll ask you if you want a URL of that photo. Say that go to your post and look for enter photo. Paste the URL address. After that your golden. Trust me it's easy it took me a while to figure that out for ETL last year. Hope that helps and make sure to stop by the murders call thread, it's a community if night lords.

Not trying to derail, but it was more the limit on pictures per post that threw me off; I thought I was doing something wrong using the image button (all my stuff is hosted on the dakka gallery). I have it figured out now and have started a thread.

I once led a thousand, but now their bones are laid bare on the black sands of betrayal, and only a handful stand with me. Yet stand we do, for our way was never based on numbers, on supplies, our strength is that of a naked blade, fast and sharpe, quickly withdrawn, ready to strike again. We draw no line in the sand, make no glorious last stand, lead no forlorn hope, we hunt, we kill, then we step back into the darkness, for that has always been ours. And these traitors, these bastard sons of the Warmaster and his lapdogs, have surrounded themselves in the darkness, and now they will bleed. Victorus aut Mortis.

Shade Captain Dun Aetos, XIX-21C

Ah the Raven Guard, I can't wait to see how you do my favorite Legion/Chapter.

They are my favourite loyalist legion/chapter. I've changed the head on the praetor and tidied up some of the GS.

Ive decided to hold off on the Ravens for a bit, wait until they get some more FW love. I'm going to work on the World Eaters for the time being, I have 1500 points planed out by which time I hope to have some more kits to play with for the XIXth.

Sticking with the World Eaters is going well.

Early work on a cyber familiar for the Praetor.

I have the basic shape down, just need to add details. And feet. I initially though of giving the raven a raven skull head, but it looked like a vulture so I scraped that.
