Dom_
That Storm Eagle is absolutely amazing. Ready well done on that! I also echo the thoughts of the others with your Horus. Great work on his face! Such a crisp paint job on him! Keep up the good work.
richmarine
Next up. Reavers. Equipped them with 2 power fists, power axe, 5 combi meltas. Very expensive unit. Thinking of splitting them up at some point. Would really like jump packs. Carried the theme of the sauron eye. Fire Golem
Your green is amazing, mine is the green wash over grey which as you said looks a bit messier, yours is really clean and smooth. They look excellent.
Olis
The Eye of Horus in the second picture from the bottom looks really nice. I don't think I would have highlighted the crease down the iris, though. :)
BKZer0
I really like your models. Very smooth and I guess "crisp" would be a good word for it. Are the gold glyphs on the models right shoulder freehand?
richmarine
I really like your models. Very smooth and I guess "crisp" would be a good word for it. Are the gold glyphs on the models right shoulder freehand?Started off on some of the minis as freehand, but they didn't stand out. The regular paints didn't give a sharp enough edge to stand out. I also tried using a tamiya gold with real gold flakes. But decals work best. Which are found here http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/The_Horus_Heresy/Legiones_Astartes/Sons_Of_Horus/SONS_OF_HORUS_LEGION_TRANSFER_SHEET_.html  They're in gold only so I guess it works for reavers/justearin cathonian born marines etc. that use dark sea green/black. richmarine
Last up of my units completed so far is a dreadclaw drop pod. Either for use with getting my reavers to their target or for transporting my Contemptor. It is a large model and looks cool but I'be had mixed fortunes with it. It's rules are strange as it deep strikes but can deviate unlike conventional drop pods. So it can mishap. That's a lot of points to go wrong.  Finished for challenge. by richmarine84, on Flickr Sons of horus by richmarine84, on Flickr  Hopefully as time goes on I can add more to the army. Really thinking of some serious armour and fire support. But the pull of having more infantry is strong. Really like the thought of jump pack reavers and justaerin terminators in a spartan. Next WIP are a pair of Apothacaries.

richmarine
Wow. Some nice comments there. I'm going to round off this topic with some army wide images. I'm currently painting up some Apothacaries for the army. But I'm thinking tanks next. Been a while since I've painted any. I'll continue to post the finished models here in the months/years to come.  Just need games....  Untitled by richmarine84, on Flickr  Sons of horus by richmarine84, on Flickr  Sons of horus by richmarine84, on Flickr  Sons of horus by richmarine84, on Flickr
GrandMagnus
Your SofH are definetly one of my favorite representations of the XVIth legion. The way you took the pictures adds a nice life and character to the guys. And Horus is awesome. Hail the Warmaster.

LokisSword
This is absolutely outstanding work brother - and a Midland'er as well! Standard of painting is uniformly brilliant and Horus is just fantastic. Do you play anywhere locally? Would love to see this in person (although I don't play 30K at all). richmarine
Loken. I decided to weather this chap up to look like he'd been on istvaan a while.
