Hey brothers!

I am in fact not dead!

Its been a crazy busy 2016 for me, just finished my BFA in studio art, and had a solo gallery show, so I've had no time for painting, but now im rearin to go for the next ETL (on naughty chaos side this time, sorry heresy bros).

First conversion and paintjob after getting back into hobbying, was a slaanesh herald, to add to the gore-tide daemonic incursion army im working on.

The Madmoiselle:

Really fun conversion to make, bitz from daemonettes, fantasy slaanesh stuff, and that fairly busty vampire counts lady karstein!

I apologize for the terrible camera, iphone pics dont do miniatures much justice :(

Thanks Pearson!

Here's whats on the painting desk next, to start off the ETL challenge in a few days!

Fiends of slaanesh (I dont like the super expensive finecast old style seahorse fiends, went for something a bit more updated)

And some seekers of Slaanesh! (again, dont like the usual ones, thought hellstriders with a few conversions would look cool. Slaanesh is an equal opportunity god!)

I'll start on these boys once I Vow them for etl

Outstanding work, Paz!

The herald is absolutely beautiful! I love the use of the icon as a crown/tiara/headpiece.

And those fiends are great too.

The Hellstriders is an excellent box, with lots of great bitz, isn't it? :D

The paintjob on the Mademoiselle of Slaanesh is excellent -- I'm not a big fan of that huge lance arm part, personally speaking, but the painting on it is still striking. Very nice!

Those fiends are utterly brilliant, though! Fantastic GS work, and using those face masks is just a brilliant touch that arguably makes the creatures even more disturbing.

-thanks kierdale! Yeah the crown was my favorite part to make!

The hellstriders is a crazy good bitz trove for slaaneshi stuff, gw can do awesome slaanesh sculpts, now where is that keeper of secrets!! :p

YAAAAAAAAAAAAS

MOAR CHAOS

MOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR

-theres always room for moar chaos.

Yeah, the lance is a bit big for sure. I just wanted her overcompensating with an oversized arm, like those ghost things from FF: spirits within. But i may have chose a claw a touch too big.

And thanks on the fiends!

  • 4 months later...

well, after the debacle that was the ETL (for me), and failing my small pledge, ive finally found some time to get some painting done.

Turns out doing art for a living doesnt leave you much hobby time, but when the new deathwatch came out, how could I resist?

I've done up a little test model for my Fort Pykman deathwatch killteam.

Ive used a little nihilakh oxide on thr armor, black was just so boring against the more vibrant base.

Wow, beautiful stuff here. That DP is amazing.

Thanks! Im workinf towards a full tetrad of darkness.

Very impressive miniature!

I like the way the oxidised edging gives an impression of age to the armour. It highlights (bad pun) that whilst the DW get the best equipment, it's all old and treasured.

Thanks brother! Im picturing these astartes fighting on an old mining platform in a gas giant, so the corrosive air would oxidise their armor quickly.
