However the new vows that are to be made after the release of a new Codex are supposed to consist of units as described and as “priced” in the new Codex. It is possible that some units may disappear from the new Codex. Well, tough. You cannot go back to the old Codex even if your chosen unit does not exist in the new one.

How would this effect templars if dropped from the dex?

The Templars will continue as they are now... It's not like there is a Codex BTs right now... They take their units form the Codex SMs and they will continue to do so in the future. If in the new Codex SMs they have removed the BT-specific units then, they just won't be an option.

Which would mean group neophytes into scout squads and use captains for emp champs as far as I can tell.

When the GKs will start reporting completions, their completion rate will jump overnight! Question is, how will the re-vowing rate go from there? ;)

I am so proud of the BA Forum! We are going down swinging brethren!

You are rightly proud!

Hahaha everyone is like "what's up with Chaos this year?" Well, my deluded cousins, it is this: we are planning a Black Crusade in 2016!! When the next Chaos Codex comes out! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA UNtill then, we're putting in just enough points to make everyone gaming in the 40K present on their toes. ;) tongue.png

Actually, yeah. What is up with Chaos this year? You guys are struggling to maintain second place, and I'm seeing a big secondary effort for larger and larger re-vows. This doesn't sound a lot like 'biding our time' to me. It sounds like you lot are clutching at straws. :P

Some of us have temporarily diversified to give others false hope just for this year.

We call it the Long War for a reason.

On a more personal note, I had a setback with the Scorpion when the paint fell off, and then con season hit and works been mental because of it. Hopefully back into the swing of things a touch this week.

Dragonlover

I won't mention that an increase in history lovers has ment a decrease in Chaos. I won't mention it at all.

You actually raise an interesting point and I kind of agree actually. Although in principle the same could be argued for the loyalists, the Legions covered so far are not among the traditional 40k popular a of the Big 4 (although the UMs got some coverage now). I see HH as creating a new market if you like for Raven Guard, Iron Hands - even Salamanders (with all all the specialist units and minis they moved from being a colour scheme in the 40k context to a fully supported faction).

On the other hand, the Traitors were pretty popular already within the 40k context. Now, with all the new toys, I can see a more meaningful migration from 40k Chaos to HH than say DA, BA or SW players... But their time will come soon enough...

Thoughts?

In this thread since the last update, I'm reading that not only are the forces of Chaos are fickle ,but that they are throwing this year's competition as they have no honour.

Who knew? ;)

Yep we're throwing it. I've already completed my first two vows, which for me is amazing.

But if people were happy with the 40k lore they would simply utilize the new kit as upgrades rather than abandoning the lore for 30k.

I feel the depth and detail were given by the FW team is the reason for converts. I got into 40k for the lore and got obsessed with 30k for the individual attention to lore.

But each to their own
