Remus Ventanus.
Hey everyone...no update but just thought i would share something. Im having a really hard time wanting to continue this army. Not because i dont like ultras, i just dont like the direction the HH has taken recently. Ive finished a few of the latest novels, and they are honestly quite awful, and make the setting seem very.....well, stupid. I know FW is alot better with the fluff, but the way GW is handling the setting is just really turning me off. Maybe im just burnt out, and need a break from space marines for a bit. Was thinking of starting a small tau army, or even picking up some LOTR minis just for fun. Anyone else ever feel like this before? Lord Blackwood
At times like this you should be able to fall back on the fact that they said they are doing the scouring after the HH stuff is done Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/307780-the-xiii-legion-ultramarines/page/16/#findComment-4312355 Share on other sites

But you know what? When I feel like down on the hobby, I go check what others are doing for inspiration, and then I pick up one of the better ones are give them another pass. You are an Ultramarine. Remus Ventanus.
Alright, finally back at it. Experimenting with some basing, and also giving my veterans of the 4th company a green trimmed shoulder pad. Dantay VI
With regards to how you are feeling. Ignore the books, your band of merry men were elsewhere prosecuting an awesome war & therefore the defiled texts of which you speak of do not apply to you. Burn out is a thing though, and I have suffered it several times. If it is modelling in general then take a step back and go outside. Do something else for a bit, ten come back rejuvenated. If it is dwown to the books, then make your own fluff and do not be hide-bound by what you have read. Lookt to Brother-Captain Arkhan's Ultramarines for example. Btw, I thought te stripe was deliberate, like a veteran marking or something Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/307780-the-xiii-legion-ultramarines/page/16/#findComment-4331584 Share on other sites

Reyner
Love the 4th Chapter representation :) Aurorans ftw! Looks good with the green trim since I was torn between the trim or the pauldron being green. Cannot beat MK2 armour for the XIII Legion either so I look forward to seeing more of your work. Runefyre
Looking great! Good to see you back at it again, man. for calth... ...do you know what you do with all that pain? Shall I tell you where you put it? You hold it tight...until it burns your hand. And you say this -- no one else will ever have to live like this. No one else will ever have to feel this pain. Not on my watch! Anyway, lovely models, I really love the aurorans! Remus Ventanus.
Cataphractii sergeant, along with another veteran. Need to finish the head on the cata, and am strongly considering adding cyclone launchers to my termies, but i dont believe FW sells them....Also might add a wash to the bases to darken them up. I would add some transfers....but uh....I may have spilled some slurpee on my transfer sheet. Dantay VI
Cataphractii Sargeant looks good. Why not sling the grenade launcher under the combi-bolters gun barrels.? It'll look like how Abaddon (the FW model) has his and is pretty neat. The weathering looks good, but the white needs some definition, have you considered giving it a wash of nuln oil and then re-doing the white, leaving the wash in the recesses. Either that or a touch of grey paint. It will help with the white shoulderpads. Lol, Spillages happen to the best of us. I have just lost half a pot of nuln oil, some baneblade brown and xv-88, because 3 times now I have managed to knock over a pot of something Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/307780-the-xiii-legion-ultramarines/page/16/#findComment-4334235 Share on other sites
Remus Ventanus.
Thanks dantay! Im thinking of buying the command squad, mostly for the standard bearer. Now, I also will get Ventanus when his model is released, and he also has a standard. Is it allowed for two standards, or is a special character an acception? Slips
Command Squad Standard, Ventanus and Herald Consul would all be allowed, iirc. Nothing really stops you from taking more than one. Dantay VI
Nothing wrong with more tan one standard. I am using small standards/ flags as vexilla's in my squads. Dantay VI
Imagine, that you are the last of your brothers, alone amongst kin. In the rubble you find the standard of your lost companyy. Are you going to leave it on the ground to moulder and be desecrtated by the accursed Word Bearers or worse? NO! You will raise the standard high, in honour of your brothers-in-arms who never got the chance to fight back against the dagger in the dark. You will raise the standard high, to show that even while one Ultrmarine lives, bloodied but unbowed the fight against the darkness will never cease. You will raise the standard high, so your foe never forgets that vengeance has come for them. You will raise the standard high, for Calth. And so shall all your brothers gathered here, from all the shattered companies and we will fight as one, banners high and our choler to the fore... We march for Calth, and we will show no mercy! Dantay VI
Se if you have any Dark Angel friends. If they run Deathwing, and do not use the cyclones, they may have some kicking about you could trade for. Otherwise your GW manager or bits sites. Although they are a popular item. There are also 3rd party companies which make good cyclone substitutes, but it will depend on how okay your GW manager is with having models using non-GW parts on them, in his store. Someone using Fulmentaris terminators Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/307780-the-xiii-legion-ultramarines/page/16/#findComment-4335413 Share on other sites
