Mehman's Space Wolves

Father Mehman

Recommended Posts

Hello, fellow Space Wolves enthusiasts! Hopefully this day finds you well. I am Mehman and this is where I will be slowly posting pictures and conversions of my Space Wolves army.

The first picture and post will be of Brynjar the Traveler, one of three Lone Wolves I have planned. He has parts from the new Space Wolves Upgrade Kit, Space Wolves box, Space Wolves Terminator box (the hand behind the Storm Shield is the same size as a regular marine's!), various Space Marine boxes, and the head is from the newly minted Space Marine Devastator box. He is finished with a Green Stuffed beard and mustache. Please enjoy happy.png!

that beard is amazing, how dod you do it?

Thank you! I'd have to do a proper tutorial on it to get the point across better but you prepare some Green Stuff, shape it into roughly what you want the beard to look like, attach it to the face, and then get a tool (the GW sculpting tool works well here but some people swear by an old razor blade- I used both to do the beard) to poke, prod, and pull the Green Stuff from the hairline, er, beardline, downwards. That's not much to go on but I hope it helps some.

@Ulrik- He could always stand-in for my Wolf Lord but, as Valerian pointed out, he's just one of my Lone Wolves. My Wolf Lord doesn't even have a beard, come to think of it... No matter- time for a Simple Green bath! Thanks for the compliment, by the way thumbsup.gif.

Thank you all very much for the compliments happy.png! Next on my list of things to do is to obtain a Light Box. I know of a few good ones thanks to the Photo Tutorial pages on here so I'll give one a go and see how it works. Might even get a tripod. I know, I'm a big spender cool.png.

Anywho, like I said before, my Wolf Lord needs to be soaked in Simple Green and then given a beard. Not just any beard, mind you. His will have bits of bone, jewels, and runes scattered throughout. I've been wanting to do the same thing with my own but the wife won't sign-off on that one...yet.

See y'all after the stripping bath!

Once, after many days of battle and interdepartmental meetings, the beard ran out of shampoo and conditioner. As it had bits of toner and grey matter spattered about, it had to be washed, but with what? To Brynjar's horror, it was washed with...soap! For a normal beard, as we all know full well, this would be the end to shine and thick, manly volume. But, much to the mighty Space Wolf's joy, his beard did not experience these things. Nay. When it was dry it retained all manner of healthy hair!

For Russ! For the Alfather!

Aye, that is a small beard joke. Well, a large beard joke, as it were happy.png. In all seriousness, I'm a bit of a fluff ball so expect long sagas to appear beneath pictures as I have the time and willpower. Suffice to say this: Brynjar the Traveler's Pack were killed one by one in glorious battle for Russ and the Alfather against the vile forces of Chaos on the frontier planets of the Triedes Sector, Segmentum Pacificus. It is now up to this remaining warrior to find a good and honourable death so that he may join his fellows for the final battle.

Whilst waiting for my Wolf Lord to take a Simple Green bath, I've been busy creating a Rune Priest. I used a Space Wolf head this time but the braid on the side of the head was cut as well as the right eye. Apparently, he took a blow to the face in the past but at least he has some hair. I've also made a Runic Axe by taking an extra Thunder Hammer from the Vanguard Veteran Squad box, cut the business hammer head off, and then replaced it with a pinned and glued Space Wolves Terminator axe head. It's one big axe happy.png!

Anyway, here's Frodr Fellgaze, Rune Priest.

Next up will be either my Wolf Lord v2 or a Battle Leader- whichever one comes up first.

Alright brothers and sisters, I have a bit of a dilemma. I'm in the process of completing a Rune Priest (yes, another one) and a thought occurred: should I go the extra mile and put a rune pouch and some fangs and totems, etc on his wolf tabard or should I leave him bare? I would rather not put up a picture of him yet because I want the picture to be the final version of him before painting begins, but he's easy enough to describe.

Already sculpted on him are: a beard, a wolf or bear cloak (that was real fun mellow.png), and a wolf tabard. In his right hand there is a Runic Stave topped with a wolf skull and tail and his left hand is outstretched, as if manifesting some lightning from the spirit of Fenris or, you know, whatever. He also has a bolt pistol on his hip. So, is it too gaudy to make little trinkets for him or is it an alright thing to do?

Add all the trinkets you want :) It's only an issue if he is so bogged down with gear he looks like he belongs with the Cosmic Space Knights (of Doom), look that chapter up on the forum if you want a laugh. As long as the equipment looks good and the model looks like he can fight while carrying it then it's good to go.

Well, in the end, I scrapped most of the trinkets in favor of a simple band around the Rune Priest's bolt pistol. I'll save the fancy stuff for my Wolf Lord (if he ever comes out of the Simple Green sad.png). Enough of me jabbering, here are some pictures.
