Here she is, folks. After a year and a half of lingering in her (very popular) WIP thread, I finally feel comfortable opening up a FINISHED MODEL THREAD! I'll post them here with little comment, because frankly every single aspect of this build has been extremely well-covered from start to finish. Feel free to check out my blog if you'd like to read the 33 WIP posts, or just click this to read the 37 pages of WIP musings on her other thread.

Here we go... White backdrop first.

And now the black backdrop full pics.

With the time and the dedication poured into this knight, I am pleased it has come out so well for you. Even if it was merely destined for the table, I think that the Queen Bee makes for a worthy display piece. Kudos to you, brother. :tu:

Well I've watched the WIP thread since the start, and I can only offer congratulations on getting to this point. So many great little touches on this girl, and the depth of colour you've achieved is remarkable. Great work sir, great work!

Now, what are you doing next? ;-)

Haha. Always something else. I can't help but have several things at once. I'd really like to focus on the Land Raider project I started, mainly because I love the Loricatus heavy armor kit from The Dark Works, so I guess that's going to be my main focus right now.

I'm not sure if I ever commented on her W.I.P., but I should have, so I'm going to say the stuff I wanted to.

She looks amazing. A paragon of the hobby, if ever there was one. Just... beautiful. The thing I love about this hobby of ours, so very much, is all the work (and a lot of love) that people put into all its aspects, and you have exemplified that in the painting of the Queen Bee.

Long live the Queen!

A labour of love is always worth it, but it helps if it looks this good at the end msn-wink.gif I will strive to try and emulate the effort you put in on my Knight, inspirational is the correct word for a model like this smile.png

Send her victorious and long may she reign! biggrin.png

Awesome job. Glad to see it done!

Any chance you can snap some shots with the alternative weapon load outs? I saw you had magnetized them in the wip...

Yes! I need to swap the gun out and then I'll take some more. Thanks for reminding me that not every single person on the board saw all the WIP pics. Good looking out!

Wow. She's finished and you made stunning pictures. Be very, very proud. And dude, this is no mere gaming piece. On behalf of the entire hobby community I hereby give you permission to play with her on the gaming table. But she deserves a display pedestal. ;)

Haha. Maybe I can get or make a plinth that would fit her base. That's kind of a fun idea in and of itself.

Magnificent! Looks like some `Eavy Metal/ Golden Demon stuff (in my humble opinion).

There are so many great details...mellow.png The honeycomb- colour scheme! wub.png

I also like the detail-shot, there you see the acid from the stomped necron-constructed melting a hole in the base! Nice!

Overall: thumbsup.gifthumbsup.gifjawdrop.gif

i'm serious. We had a meeting and everything.

And just like that, all the pride I've ever had in my own work is as nothing.

That beast is a masterpiece.  Gotta say that Regina Apis crest steals the show for me.  Bravo sir. :tu:

Don't be intimidated, dude. Seriously. Remember, I used to strictly paint clean marines, and I had never tried most of the techniques I used in her before. That means, literally, anyone can do this stuff. It took time, and a willingness to go for it despite the potential for disaster, but that's it.

She looks magnificent. A real benchmark for work, talent and vision.

Wow. Thank you!

I could be wrong, but I don't see her as a medal winner. It's not the style that's popular right now, and honestly the quality isn't anything that required massive amounts of talent. But I do appreciate the kind words and vote of confidence.

Haha. Nice. If the Internet could ever come to a consensus, I'm sure it would be over something like this.

Ding ding ding ding! I was waiting for someone to bring it up. Yes. I still plan to add lightning arcing from the crushed 'Cron to the foot. It was a special request from the dude who gave me the model to destroy. I haven't found the method I'm going to use 100%. I'm leaning toward the plant root thing, but I can't seem to find roots that will work.
