Strata Posted December 20, 2015 Author Share Posted December 20, 2015 I've gotten back around to work on my rapiers and i think that i am just about finished with them now. Im trying to decide if i want to do anything special with the coils near the body of the weapon casing, or simply leave it as is. If that is the case, then they are finished. After these, i have my calth boxes to start work on. A set of cataphractii terminators, and then all those mk 4 marines that i am still fully undecided on what to do with them. Im not fully convinced that they will fit in with the theme i have running with my other power armored figures, plus i would need more chaos bits that i dont have right now on hand. Strata Posted December 25, 2015 Author Share Posted December 25, 2015 ++ Send the report to the warsmith, the bunker complexes are more heavily fortified then initial recon had suggested. It's nothing but a minor inconvenience, but it puts our plans behind schedule. I'm calling in the raptor strike teams, We'll melt though those bunkers before laying down heavy bombardment. ++ I've begun work on my next two units to add to the warsmith's cause. A double team of melta equipped Raptors. I decided against going the easy route of picking up the raptors boxes from GW, and instead i've kitbashed and converted my own. As nice as the stock kit is, i dont feel that it quite fits the design and direction that im taking my iron warriors. I think that i'll put it up to a vote and see what the most popular option is, thats right you guys get a say in the progress of these iron warriors. First is a good chaos kit, Here Second an older style kit, As seen here And finally something just brutal looking, This So have at it guys. Strata Posted August 12, 2016 Author Share Posted August 12, 2016 No pictures for you guys today, Though i did go back to do alittle extra work on the backpacks of everyone so far, picking out the power cables in black and highlightly them.. something i've been meaning to do, but continually put off. Instead today i'm just going to ramble on alittle bit, get out what's been circling around within my head for the last few weeks, and maybe see if any of you guys out there have some thoguhts to add to my own. Now yes, as of late i have been alittle.. despondent when it comes to chaos, the general reasons why are obvious, but i dont want to just moan on about what everyone already knows. I have been giving some thought to putting the iron warriors on hold for now, let them sit untill we get a proper update. I would naturally still work on finishing off what i have right now, get everything painted up, but instead of being my primary focus, it would end up as a deversion, something to work on as a treat, something different while working on a new force. To that end i've recently picked up some Mechanicum stuff for the Heresy. I'm quite excited to start working on these, as much i have them sitting right now, washed and drying after cleaning them off. But even so, there is that small nag in the back of my mind, Work on Power Armor! So, i've been working to narrow down what Legion i might be interested in putting on the field. Ofcourse, i hear the call of Iron.. But i'm still leaning more to i want to keep them strictly 40k. I can't say the reasoning for that is easy of buying and building, when im mixing in mk2 and mk3 armor sets with the chaos boxes. I feel like the chaos ascetic, with the horns and extra banding doesn't fit with the setting of the legion. I've been considering afew of the loyalist legions, Blood Angels, and Ravenguard at the top of that list.. But, and this is a big but in this case, My list is topped by the Thousand Sons. I've read the books, and i enjoyed the characters, But i'm unsure if i want to start a legion without its rules. So i wait. Which Cycles me back around to 40k. Codex Space Marines.. i almost feel like a twicedamned traitor to jump into that codex, but i find some of the formations found in the book, and the supplement very interesting to say the least. Deathwatch. Who hasn't seen the new Deathwatch yet? I could see the possibilities here with them easily! If the rules match to the fluff, which they seem to.. It'd be a smaller sized force then most, but quite effective, as befitting them. But then.. Then i got one last Idea that would keep me right here where i am now. Build up a new set of Iron Warriors to suppliment what i have now, Running with the Purge Detachment, and fill out my elites with Chosen in 5 man groups, 4 special weapons per team. Similar idea to the deathwatch, but not quite the same. (Obviously lacking any of the neat new rules, weapons, or mk8 armor.) Beasts of iron and of daemonflesh are waiting to take to the field of conflict. Soon, soon they shall be fully ready. The Vindicator, i've gone for a weathered and battle worn feel for it, the legion, we have more important things to do then adorn the tank with spikes and keep it cleaned.. we have war to make! The Maulerfiend. Im still going to work on the flesh color itself.
