Yes a kind of reddish brown, will be adding foliage to it as well!

I saw the recipe on another thread on here! Dry brushed eshin grey, dry brush administratum grey, silver and red areas. Then a nuln oil wash!

I'm doing some squad markings and such at the moment. Not great at freehand but adding a little more colour to them!

Apologies for my absence! I've been distracted by another game recently. Here's a quick update.

Squad markings added to original two marines:

I've nearly finished the squad sergeant and one of the plasma gunners:

Couple of highlights to do on the sergeants sword and the Legio symbols. Terrible pics! They came out a bit shinier compared to the other two, no idea why though. Every paint I used was exactly the same. The rest of the squad have had their grey dry brushes, just silver, reds and washes to go. I'll be experimenting with weathering powders on a couple of spare marines to find a look I like then these guys will be varnished and weathered.

Veeeery cool!

It's a good black. Nice and matte with some depth!

I think a LITTLE lighter on the silver wouldn't go amiss though. Maybe some more. Not enough to go iron hands, but enough to make them look knightly.

If you're nuts some checker patterns too ;)

Thank you Charlo! The black is really growing on me. I think you may be right, a little highlight on the silver will help them. In regards to checkers, I'm not the greatest at freehand but the company I got the termie pads from actually do a chequered pad for Marines. I will probably order a few and mix them in!

In terms of progress, nothing unfortunately! Been very busy at work. I'm aiming to get some painting done over the next couple of days.
