XII Legion 34th Assault Company

Firstly,

Welcome to my Story of the 34th Assault Company,

This project started on the 2nd of September 2014 when I pledged my alliance to the Lord of the World Eaters in the fantastic thread over in the Chaos section:

But given that my first passion is the Imperial Fists I had put this project on the back burner, that is until the release of the B@C box and now I can begin on my WE. From the beginning of my Space Marine love affair I have been a strict loyalist, I even made a loyalist Soul Drinker force because Chaos just didn't do it for me. With the release of the Horus Heresy I was immediately interested in the World Eaters. I love their color/colour scheme and the pure rage that they contain, I knew that I needed to make an army a reality.

My thoughts on the 34th assault company: In my head the 34th Assault Company were separated from the legion in the early stages of development with the butchers nails, my force has the Nails but they are divergent from the Legion as a whole. The Commander had the ability to activate and deactivate them by using an hypnotic phrase. Once activated the Marines loose all ability to act as individuals, all self control is lost and is the 34th assault company as a whole is pointed in the direction of the enemy and let loose. Only when the commander utters the counter phrase do the Marines come out of their blood rage and become normal again. The 34th Assault Company are utterly loyal to Angron and at the onset of Horus's rebellion the commander activates the hypnotic phrase and leads his forces against the false emperor, the individual Marines of the 34th Assault Company remain blissfully unaware of their commanders betrayal and indeed there own, though they would have followed the Primark regardless. (More on this later)

This project is in the early stages and the plan is to start small and expand it from there, I have built a 1000pt Zone Mortalis list that I can make directly form the B@C box set here is the list:

To be fair i was hesitant to get this thing going but I am happy with how it has turned out. There were some mistakes made like not weathering them before the blood but hey you live you learn!

I'm not a 'clean paint job' sort of guy, as I love weathering, and this STILL impresses me. Great job
