Master of the Forge
Can i use a baneblade ect in 30k for a Imperial fists legion? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/317954-40k-superheavies-in-30k/ Share on other sites
M@verik115
I actually also want to know this. The baneblade is only listed in the solar auxilia list, but no where does it state it can be fielded in a legion astartes list Worst case scenario is you use it as a fellblade or ally in solar auxilia. Caillum
This has been asked multiple times. M@verik115
So in short, yes you can. "In order to represent this diversity when it comes to Super-heavy vehicles and Flyers, it is perfectly acceptable to use specific Imperial Super-heavy vehicles and Flyer units from Forge World's wider Imperial Armour range such as Imperial Armour; Apocalypse or Imperial Armour Aeronautica, which do not already have an era-specific counterpart listed in a Horus Heresy supplement" The baneblade is available in a horus heresy supplement (Solar Auxilia list). So no we cannot :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/317954-40k-superheavies-in-30k/#findComment-4271476 Share on other sites
Hesh Kadesh
It depends on whether you class the 'Baneblade' to be the same as a 'Solar Auxilia Baneblade Battle Tank. If yes, then no you cannot. If no, then you may take it. That however, allows all units to get access to Psychic Pilot Thunderhawks via Grey Knights Thunderhawk Gunships. RandomMarine
Are the stats/cost different between the solar aixilia and the guard if so I'd say they were different. Liquid_O
Technically all of the SA superheavy tanks are different as they have the Explorator Adaptation rules and can take/have Multilasers as options, whereas non-SA tanks do not Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/317954-40k-superheavies-in-30k/#findComment-4271694 Share on other sites

If no, then you may take it. That however, allows all units to get access to Psychic Pilot Thunderhawks via Grey Knights Thunderhawk Gunships. I think the word counterpart covers it well enough. The grey knights thunderhawk is definitely a counterpart of the 30k one, regardless of specific name or given rules (besides, attempts to run it in a 30k force would be laughed at anyway). Same with the Minotaur really. You could argue over semantics, but a Baneblade is a Baneblade at the end of the day. Hesh Kadesh
I've gone over that in the linked thread. Arguments can be given on both sides of the argument, and I leave it to the individual players to make that shout. A GK THawk to represent an allied Thousand Sons, say, or a D-99 Valkyrie to get effectively DPA with them and the unit within. Remus Ventanus.
would superheavies such as the baneblade and shadowsword be painted in legion colours? Soldier of Dorn
would superheavies such as the baneblade and shadowsword be painted in legion colours? It varies. In Massacre on pages 54-55 there's a spread of a Emperor's Children Stormblade in dark-grey with only the turret painted in purple, but four pages later there's another spread of a Sons of Horus Shadowsword almost fully painted green.
