FW Horus Heresy Rules Update PDF

I think somehow I'm looking at the wrong one...has none of the stuff on knights on it. Just the old one giving precision shots/strikes, NL Row on 2+, etc.

Same here, I'm getting the old FAQ and Errata that covered the first three black books, and the first two red books.

Change your region to Australia and you should be able to see the update.

So no more staying in Legion Drop Pods....

Getting a free MC weapon (even a ranged one) on the Delegatus makes it pretty good now, especially given the discount.

Having clarification on Terminator armour rules is good too.

Summary of the changes I noticed:

Dreadnoughts with Fist/Chainfist confirmed to get the extra attack.

Terminator Command Squads unlocked by Primarchs and appropriate special characters.

Primarchs can be taken alongside 'must be warlord' characters, but you can't take two regular 'must be warlord' characters.

Master of Legion rule wording tightened up.

Big one - Cataphractii armour no longer has Slow & Purposeful, but gets a basically identically worded version of it that means there's no way of granting relentless to other models.  Tartaros armour is now distinct and allows sweeps.  Indomitus armour gets nothing while paying the same points.  My IF terminators are sad.

Praevians got additional rules for Dark Angels.  They can pay for re-rolls to wound against MCs.  Is this a hint at upcoming rules for the first legion?

The Delegatus gets a free master-crafted weapon.

The Mechanicum Land Raider has been officially retired.

Big one - Regular Drop Pods now force you to immediately disembark, and forbid you from getting back in.  Other drop pods are explicitly exempt.

Regular Dreads got -1BS and +1 attack.

Contemptors got +1 attack and twin choom options.

Both Mortis variants got +1 attack.

The Laser Vindicator rules are included.

The updated Castellax rules are included.

All the new 40K Knight options are included.

The relics from book 4 are not to be treated as part of the standard army list without opponent permission (AL Nanyte Delegatus weeps).

I managed to fix the problem by clearing my browsers cache. It's now showing the updated FAQ for me, a copy of which I've shoved in my Dropbox for anyone still having trouble.

Still no change on the Headhunter combi-bolter brain fade then lol

Ah well... I guess super accurate, semi rending bolter fire is just it!

The unit is totally redundant if you take Alpharius and infiltrate mutable tactic..

Big fan of the "must be warlord" clarification though!

Mixed thoughts.

Bad thing is Relics are no longer a thing for standard play. If you want to use them, ask TO or agree beforehand. Basically, FW :cussed up when they made these. Tbf, there are about 34 which get used (Goo gun, VSH, Photonic Blade, and Thurible), so noping them is basically a good thing. That said, they really need to come up with around 2 more for each legion so that they can D3 randomize.

Sniper still isn't fixed for vehicles; S4 meltaguns vs Vehicles.

As you explicitly cannot ally with the same force, then Fortifications cannot be embarked upon unless part of the same detachment.

1000pts allocation is not clarified whether it is is per part 1000pts or per full 1000pts.

Terror Assault still doesn't trigger on other sources of guaranteed nightfighting, Autilon Skorr, or Curze for example.

Helical Array still cannot work if going second against those going first in the first turn.

Jump Packs, Jetbikes and Bikes are not fixed for Command Squad Interaction with special characters.

There are numerous other complaints with the game, but those are my issues with the FAQ's raised points.

The good things, now. These are good!

Allied Rites of War are fixed and clarified.

Caestus gaining S10

Legion Dreadnoughts gaining attacks, and Dreadnought Chainfists losing Specialist Weapon. Others dreads too, but legion dreads are more relevant to me to keep costs down. Think they took a BS hit too, but eh.

Deathwind Pods with Automated Weapons fixed.

Terminator Command Squads are fixed for Primarchs, who can take them regardless of armour (as there are only 2 with Terminator Armour) and for Special Characters who can do so on basis of Armour. Touched on it above, but not for Jump Packs etc, so Eidolon has to do without.

Knight Titan carapace weapons and expanded roster.

Apparently Jetpacks are now a thing according to the Praevian entry, and Jump Packs are no longer banned for them. Oh, and DA Praevian Rules (basically monster hunter limited to a single model).

And my favourite. Tartaros Armour has sweeps! Whooo!

I literally posted the other day that I'd always liked the SoH Tartaros artwork in Book 4 but had no motivation to buy Tartaros.

Like clockwork, that decision has been reversed. Take my money FW

Now if you just gave me updated Justaerin rules...;)
