Greyedout
So I'm occasionally a dirt-slow painter, and get easily distracted by other personal projects(like the release of Warmachine Mk3). I did however finally finish the BaC Contemptor, and I'm this close [.......] to finishing a volkite charger support squad. Here are some pics of said Contemptor. http://i.imgur.com/sayzMU5.jpg?1 http://i.imgur.com/3LghMYS.jpg http://i.imgur.com/43Cr6aF.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318208-rise-of-the-harrowing-an-alpha-legion-blog/page/2/#findComment-4449658 Share on other sites

Xenith
Great shade of blue you have there! I'm not convinced by the weathering on the feet/shins, though, it's 100 % covering on the feet, then ends very abruptly on the shin, it kind of looks more like a tide mark from wading through mud, as opposed to dust - which is what I assume it is from the bases? It's just a little jarring, especially on the dread, where the tops of the feet are covered in mud, but the lower down shin armour isnt. Maybe extend the gradient a bit more? Sorry if that's too negative! EDIT: Didn't read this before: Just a consideration: I'd blend more the pigment on the legs. As you painted them is a bit too stark the ending of the dirt line, just a consideration, they're great anyway ;-) But yes, more subtle blending. Greyedout
Not negative at all, I appreciate the feedback! It is intended to look like a Mars-esque sort of world with lots of dust blowing around everywhere. What I may have to try is going in with more weathering pigments and lightly dusting more of the miniatures, and then sealing it. Greyedout
Figured I could make myself a dice bag for the army: http://i.imgur.com/f8ddhqW.jpg?1 And did a couple more while I was at it: http://i.imgur.com/CzNsMz1.jpg?1 http://i.imgur.com/QKBoEiM.jpg?1 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318208-rise-of-the-harrowing-an-alpha-legion-blog/page/2/#findComment-4459951 Share on other sites
Greyedout
I feel like I've been making a lot of progress on these lately. Next up I have some Cataphractii that already have the blue/plasma fluid down, and a second veteran squad to finish. http://i.imgur.com/oKH6Auh.jpg?1 Here's a test version of the terminators; mostly I'm trying to decide between this brown vs Elysian Green for the "leather" flaps. http://i.imgur.com/NtpLDi9.jpg?1 http://i.imgur.com/FAEgxOH.jpg?1 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318208-rise-of-the-harrowing-an-alpha-legion-blog/page/2/#findComment-4460230 Share on other sites
