Bah!!! Now I have to respond to multiple points, you Loresmith.....

Bwahahaha, the plan was a success... >: )

Psycho&Loresmith: I have a few other of those sabres. Could you both wait to see what an enhanced sheathed sabre looks like? Maybe meet halfway...? I value both opinions and both swords look cool in my biased opinion.

I'm cool with that, I shall await this "enhanced" sabre with eager anticipation. :)

Yeah, a bit of a curve would definitely be good. Still prefer the broadsword slightly, but this one's growing on me.

How about now...? I still am siding with you Psycho more and more with the broadsword.

New curve looks good, and I imagine more akin to actual Mongolian swords...but I must say, the original has a certain exotic-ness to it.

The more I curve the blade the more I dislike the slimmer blade... Darn it. More tossed up now. Bah!!!

I flipped the broad sword for arguments sake so one could see the oath paper/the paper flows more with the banner...

Thoughts again? (Margaritas and hobbying cause indecision...)

I like the new curve, it's a lot smoother than the previous attempt and looks like the blade could be drawn really fast in combat in an Iajutsu sort of way. That said I'll echo drak in that part of me is still drawn to the original sword as it does have a certain exotic look to it, but I'll leave which one to use up to you Jimbo if you decide on the Mongol blade over the broadsword.

I love the new curve too. Though the scabard probably looks a bit bland when compared to the rest of the model? Perhaps if you sculpt some WS fetishes on it, it will bulk it out to your liking?

(Plus the blade doesn't actually look any thinner then the broadsword to me :P

I have zero sculpting skills so unfortunately that's not happening. It's not so much the thinness. The scimitar has more appeal and it adds a better sense of motion.

I still like the Templar sword better, personally. I think it has more to do with the size than anything else. I like big swords. :P

Oh.

...

I blame watching Deadpool last night. I think that movie wore off on me. Just don't tell my girlfriend about any of this. :P

Well that escalated fast... That movie is amazing.

As I decide what to do I painted up one of my two quad mortar crew men. The defensive gunner... Cause well I'm procrastinating on ETL.

Decided to put together a Knights Errant. Roughly... By no means complete and not for my fists, plus I wanted to use the Garro model. Duhh. Let me know what the peanut gallery thinks please. Still need to add a sheathed sword or sharp pointy object to him.

Yep, a very nice pose. However, I think he calls for a more ornate helmet, if you don't mind me saying so.

I'd recommend not using a reverse grip: they only really work well for daggers or Asian-influenced designs (imo)

How about a mace or an axe?
