Use Meshmixer to work up some custom Decimators...hasty paint job before the escalation league...used them as Iron Warriors with Markof Khorne, CSM Lord with Damonsmith warlord trait, insidium relic, a Master of possession with cursed earth/infernal power and Bloodmaster Herald of Khorne with the  Crimson Crown to make them explode hits on 6's to hit, and more shots on 6's to wound...just friggin crazy ...SLAUGHTERED those Deathwatch game 1 at 750pts...

Been a while since I posted, but it ain't because I've been slacking off (well, maybe in the paint department, but not the creation dept.)...mixed up some more additions to 'The Cindered' walker wing...World-Eater contemptors with twin lascannons. Will work well with my Decimators and Assault drills...I had a skull pancake-error on the left hip chain but replaced that with a Space-Wolf 'volunteer' (hehe...). Head sizes were diff, but hey, variety is good...i think of the big head as part of the casing...he probably can't turn his head (who did he piss off?). The other side project, which will take forever, is me working on my 3D printing of 'Khorn's War-Whores'...yeah that's the name despite the feedback. SO my painting has fallen off as I blend/sculpt/remix stuff in Meshmixer...a real love affair that's very rewarding. So damn good we can now MAKE what we want for our hobby the way we envision it....

I couldn't agree more about the joy of kitbashing stuff in 3d, I love it! It doesn't stop me from buying official models (ex.: My recent skorpekhs, immortals, etc.) but it's perfect for custom models (ex.: My Skaven Lord of Change).

 

I mostly used meshmixer but it kept crashing on me and felt a bit limited. I'm slowly moving to blender with the goal of sculpting more and more of my kitbashes, but I'm not as competent with it than meshmixer yet.

 

I love what you have done so far with the army, your Khorne sisters are going to look great (some already are)! I'm curious about the color transition at the bottom of your vehicle, it looks pretty but is it meant to be from a light source on the ground, dirt / other, or part of the "clean" model's color scheme? It looks fine either way, just curious.

Yeah they are supposed to be burning inside their armor. If you look at the Termis and some bolter guys, their legs are what the whole army is supposed to b like. All of them are supposed to be on lava bases so the glow is from the terrain and their own internal fires

2-hour paint job to get these 5 Chosen/Berserker Lightening Claw Champs I remixed/printed/pushed out for a New Years bash.  Airbrush being finicky the first half hour. Fun models that still need some work but at least it's painted/based as is required.

So these counts-as biker guys are a obviously a LOOONNNGGGG way from being near completed....I messed with the airbrush trying to get the scheme to work on thin disk shapes but the colors just couldn't be vibrant enough is so limited an area so went back to regular paint brush...will use the airbrush to smooth inner-circle transitions after I'm done with the lave look...ah, well...they will get there eventually...
