Regardless, you've inspired me to attempt remaking my SigMarines into Templars. Here are the previous ones - Chaplain and the Marshal

I just LOVE the lean, powerful way the Templar looks beside the squatty (pun intended) Blood Angel. Where would I get Neophytes this size though?

Lost-Brothers Nothos, Varden, and Malachiel

Hm, I tried shaving the pauldrons off a free Sigmarine. What is the trick to it that you use, so that you can preserve the upper "chest" shape/detail? Is there any?

I don't actually use the monopose ones from the Age of Sigmar starter set. I use the ones from the multi-plastic kit. Just the torsos and legs. Shaving off all those shoulderpads and cutting off the heads is too much work for me haha.

Coudl we get a close-up of your method of attaching the back-packs to the SC torso?  Those SC bodies would make excellent Black Templar, very knight-y looking.

Are you just using PA arms and shoulders for those?

Ancient Galoran, the Sword of Morning

And though verily did the heretics surround the great Ancient from all sides, yet indomitable he stood like Sanguinius himself before the golden gates of Terra. From dusk to morning did traitor machines and daemon engines batter against his inviolate form, only to earn death themselves at the noble warrior's feet. For his sword shone with the brilliance of a newly-born star and his blows were guided by the strength of the angelic Primarch himself.

Seen striding through a trench-field, Brother Raldoran carries a Vengeance Pattern meltagun. An older variant of the specialist weapon, this pattern expels heat over a wide area, akin to a shotgun blast. While this method of firing makes the Vengeance Pattern inferior at melting the armored hides of vehicles, they make for fearsome anti-infantry weapons. Groups of mega-armored nobz have charged Assault Squads equipped with these weapons before, believing their armor to be invincible, only for the resulting spray of heat to reduce their bodies to wandering atoms and hissing vapor.

Chainswords are the common armament for Assault Squads of any chapter and they are prevalent among the warriors of the Angels Encarmine as well. However, it is not uncommon to see battle-brothers take to the field with more elegant close combat weapons, as befit of the dignified nobility of the Sons of Sanguinius. Pict-captured in an assault on ork positions, Brother Tolben wields a Spathatoi broadsword. The blade sharpened to a monomolecular edge, these melee weapons slice through armor and flesh with equal ease. In the hands of a Space Marine, they become death incarnate, scything through the ranks of the enemy like the fury of the Emperor himself.

"I have seen the Emperor's Fury made manifest, and it descends upon the battlefield on great, leathery wings." - Canoness Agalena of the Order of the Silver Mantle

"While I concur that taming these bestial creatures is a worrisome sign, I do not necessarily agree that it is full-fledged heresy. The Codex Astartes makes no mention of approving this unorthodox tactic, but it also makes no mention of disapproving it either. Furthermore, we have sent our findings to the esteemed Ultramarines of Macragge in the hopes that they would weigh in on the matter and the reply we received is... interesting. Chapter Master Calgar has remained studiously neutral on the subject but he has requested... ah... more evidence in the form of pict-captures and the like. Apparently watching these ravenous beasts tear apart heretics and xenos alike over a glass full of fine wine has become a popular pastime among the Sons of Guilliman." - Lord Inquisitor Janiss Valerian, the Hearing of Zyvras

"Our preliminary findings indicate that this beast's body is capable of supporting a wide variety of sponson and turret mounted weaponry. Magos Kurallian suggests replacing all four claws with plasma cannons and adhering quad-lascannon batteries to the creature's armored sides. Kurallian also postulates that the beast's inner carapace is capable of supporting a warship-class lance battery once hollowed out. Personally, I believe that to be a grave misuse of Mechanicus resources. A titan-class Volcano Cannon is more than sufficient." - Arch-Magos Lovos of Forge World Pellea

"I understand you Astartes types can be a bit daft about these sort of things so allow me to give you an analogy. You know how some young noblewomen on feudal worlds can get really attached to their steeds? Well the Eldar have them too. Except add in several millenia of attachment and emotions and well... you get the picture. Look. All I'm saying is that if you start seeing Eldar maidens in full Aspect Armour stalking you from the shadows, it's not because they want a fight or anything. They just really, really like your dragon horsies." - Rogue Trader Illivia Kanossa, upon meeting the Brother-Captain of the Angels Encarmine 5th Company

Looking great. The more technical/practical design of anvil Industry's meltaguns fusion cannons does not fit the more ornate style of the armour too well, IMHO. Maybe file off the "Picatinny rails" on the sides of the gun and replace them with some kind of decoration like FW's brass eagles, if they are small enough.

Bedecked in symbols of his chapter, Brother Numerian levels his Vengeance-pattern meltagun at advancing ork armor elements on the desert world of Kolchis. A pious warrior even among the standards of Astartes, Numerian reverently displays his faith on his crimson power armor. Tear drop sigils and the winged emblem of the Angels Encarmine are proudly shown to the enemy, foretelling them that the warrior facing them will show them no mercy.

The chainsword is a rugged, unsophisticated tool in the Imperium's vast armies, yet in the hands of Brother Ophadiel, it is a duelist's weapon; a twirling, pirouetting blur of destruction. Freshly promoted from the Scout squads that the Angels Encarmine draw their rank and file from, Ophadiel has already carved a name for himself in a company filled with heroes and legends. Such is his affinity with the humble chainsword that he has already been granted the right to personalize the hilt of his weapon, an honor solely reserved for the chapter's Vanguard and Sternguard squads.

As the 5th Company finds itself drawn into longer and longer conflicts without the support of the chapter, its warriors are forced to improvise as equipment and armaments are worn or broken beyond repair. Older variants of power armor are taken from the company's armories, stripped of their components, and doled out to brothers whose kits are in dire need. In Veteran Sergeant Solarion's case, his Mark VII helm was badly damaged in a previous battle and the Assault Squad Sergeant has chosen a Ferrum-pattern faceplate to replace it. Manufactured and produced during the Horus Heresy, this variant of the standard Astartes helmet lost favor as more advanced and sophisticated marks followed its introduction. However, what it lacks in sophistication it more than makes up for in protection as the Ferrum-pattern helm is nigh-indestructible from the front, making it a popular choice for the assault-oriented tactics of the Angels Encarmine.

The Assault Squads of the Angels Encarmine differs from those of other chapters in their deviancy from the Codex Astartes. As attrition wages an inner war among the brotherhood ranks, the chapter's officers have found it near impossible to follow the esteemed tenets of Roboute Guilliman. The Codex dictates that a warrior promoted from the Scout Company must first hone his art in a Devastator Squad before moving on to an Assault Squad and once his tenure there is finished, finally elevated to a member of a Tactical Squad. This process can take years if not decades, time that the crusading nature of the Angels Encarmine simply will not allow. As a result, chapter command has elected to shorten this process, siphoning freshly promoted initiates into battle-ready Assault Squads led by hardened veterans. Equipped with a myriad of specialist weapons and drop-podded into the thick of the enemy, the Assault Squads of the Angels Encarmine rely on shock and ferocity to decimate the foe. It is in the pell-mell of melee that recruits new to their power armor learn the value of target-priority and the importance of guarding their brothers' back. It is also here that these freshly promoted warriors learn to deal with the Red Thirst, sating their need to rend and sunder the foe with the blood of their foe. Only after experiencing the rigors of close-combat and controlling the Red Thirst can a brother be further elevated into the chapter's Tactical and Devastator Squads.

Have to say I'm loving these conversions. Have they been simple to carry out, or is there a lot of work involved in mating the space marine parts to the storm cast parts.

While the flair and excitement of the assault squads is cool, I think the simple brutishness of the tactical squads makes them my favourites so far.
