WIP: Knight/Reductor/Auxilla 30k armies.

So I am finally starting a WIP thread about my Horus Heresy Armies.

 

First off when the Knight 2.0 codex dropped in 2015 I decided to build a whole bunch of knights.  Atm i have 16 built and painted to my painting level.  Not long after i started really looking at the B&C forums.  Ive come to check on the Heresy section out on a daily basis. I have a 3k army ready to play.

 

 

My Knight Questoris Army.  The lancer and Acheron are converted from the plastic kits.  The lancer's Lance can be moved.

Since last year once i ordered and recieved my Mechanicum red book, i started figuring out what type of Mechanicum Army.  I fell in love with the Ordo Reductor.  Ive gone through multiple army lists and posted a couple here on the forums  Ive gotten some decent advise and have similarly decided on my army list.  Ive got a 3k army I want to build for it.

 

 

The only Model atm I have finished.  My Archmagos Reductor.  This army won't be Worked on for a while, most likely till the summer at least due to funds.

Since the beginning of the New year ive taken a look at the Solar Auxilla army list and started looking at what type of army I would take with them.  I believe I have the 3k basic army for them. This is my Current Project and will be the basis of my work for the time being.  Atm I have 2 of each type of Leman Russ's and should get the other 2 of each type next weekend.   Waiting on my tax refund to make my forgeworld order for the 35 guys and 4 transports. This is subject to change depending on when we might see book 6 up for pre order. I might then just order the transports and wait to pickup the infantry when book 6 is released.

This is where I am at atm.  I know I don't have the greatest painting skills and I usually choose basic paint scheme's.  All 3 of these armies as I work on them will have basically the same base colors. Mechanicus Standard Grey and Mephiston Red.

So i finished the 8 Leman Russ tanks for the army.  Also got the email letting me know the 4 dracosan's i ordered have been dispatched. hope to have them next week sometime.  Will be ordering the infantry alongside Book 6 when it comes up for pre-order.

Recieved my copy of book 6, along with 3 veletaris storm sections and an auxilla tactical command.

 

 

working on cleaning the infantry and basecoating the 4 dracosan's.

I'm really digging the way they made the Veletaris, with Numbers and the ability to paint it all before assembly.

 

 

 

also digging the leadbelcher spray can's. not even sure I need to use any wash on it.
