Cyrox Posted February 21, 2016 Share Posted February 21, 2016 While I love new Ulrik model as a wolf priest, i think the head is awful and so I decided to convert my Ulrik so he is wearing the Wolf helm of Russ and carrying his trademark Plasma Pistol. I took the hand holding the helmet and slowly carved away the fingers and wrist with a scalpel blade, I then carved out the left side as best as I could to match the right side. It look quite a while and I had to go very slowly. After that I chopped the neck from a standard marine helmet and glued it to the flat bottom of the Wolf helm. I then took a left arm from the Wolf pack sprue that conveniently had the plasma pistol, and cut it at the elbow to match the upper arm on the Ulrik model. I had to shave away the elbow plate on the lower part of the arm as its moulded to the upper part, and there is a recess for the forearm. It's actually better that way as the only place that the join is visible is the ribbed section on the inner elbow. KrautScientist Posted February 22, 2016 Share Posted February 22, 2016 I love bareheaded Marines, but the helmet was always one of the best parts about Ulric, because it made him look so sinister and mysterious. The head on the new model, then, was a huge disappointment in that it revealed him to be ...just another bearded guy. So I really wanted someone to do this conversion in style, and your version looks fantastic! Still need to do some final highlighting, do the gem stones and helmet lenses, and properly highlight the cape and wolf pelts. I want to do a similar conversion to add the Wolf Helm of Russ and the plasma pistol. However, I want to make him a bit more dynamic and also re-do the Crozious arm.
