Well in theory you can have metal on the pads rather than black. Your Iron Warriors can be a particular company that marked like that due to..Reasons. What are you using for your bases by the way? I want to say slate but the rocks/paving slabs/rubble look very smooth. And is that a discarded poster I see on the base of one?

The bases use plaster to make the rubble. It's easy to work with and pretty durable in my experience. 

And yes, a few of the bases have propaganda posters on them.

Also tried out my first transfer... not a perfect success, but hey, better than my freehand. Haven't used a transfer in years, gonna have to get the knack of them.

Transfer turned out great, practice makes perfect, and compared to my recent lack of success in that department, yours looks great!

So I've been a bit quiet this week, between work and resuming uni studies this week. Mostly just assembling a few more models before I batch paint them. I realised I have the perfect IW siege shields, so suddenly the possibility of a breacher squad arises...

WHAT IS THAT SHIELD?

 

Just sorted my own breachers and I'm using anvil industries riot shields, but for love nor money could I find bullgryn shields (is that what they are?) on their own.

That Breacher looks pretty cool. The texture on the face plate especially looks suitably worn and scarred, ideal for an Iron Warrior unit.

Well brothers, it has been a while. But I'll not bore you with takes of hobby ADD and the inevitable return to 30k. I'll pick up where I left off, conveniently. Last night I decided to undercoat and paint a breacher, so here he is, almost done. Just a few markings and a base to go.

Awesome work on the metal armor and the OSL on that sergeant with red power sword and plasma pistol is really ace. Clearly visible, but not overdone.
