Lachdannan
Great poses. I also quite like the position of the grenades on the shoulder pads. Very cool. Soldier of Dorn
Thank you for all the lovely comments, brothers, they always put a smile on my face. I'm afraid I lost a bit of motivation in the past month, so didn't actually finish the Seekers, but I'll be redoubling my efforts in the next month. That's helped quite a bit by just how sexy the new Prospero box is, it's reignited the spark within me. I mean, just look at this: Proper Storm Battalion armor, indeed. The 284 will be getting at least a couple Tactical squads worth of these guys. Anyways, I'm gonna try to get my Tale of Hobbyists list completely built within the next month, all 3000 points worth, and paint as much as I can just to catch up. Hopefully it goes well. :P This is basically just a preview, I've got a couple other things almost ready to show off. Not quite, though. Soon. Thanks for looking! Runefyre
I am absolutely in LOVE with the plastic MKIII Â Can't wait to see what you have in the wings for the 284th! Soldier of Dorn
4:20? Whaddya mean? Â ... Â Ah, just realized you meant the time. Different time zones, mate! Was confused for a a second! :) Â But yeah, absolutely. Can't say how much I love the Mark III enough: it's second only to Mark II in my opinion, which I love for the monolense helmets (they just look amazing.) Soldier of Dorn
[inload] [work in progress] [Pict-capture: Terminator (Tartaros pattern,) Wallbreaker Cohort, VII-284 BTN] +++ Going to try to do more frequent updates from here on out, even if they aren't so substantial. Like this one. Just a headswapped Terminator (still don't know if I'm a fan, honestly. Kinda like it, but at the same time it's kinda odd.) In the pipeline are my last Vindicator, some Sisters of Silence, and a few Custodes. Expect to see those pop up in the next few days. Marshal Rohr
I would definitely go with the tartaros heads. The problem with power armor helmets on terminators or vice versa is everybody immediately recognizes it and it snaps you out of the immersion. Maybe try a cataphractii head if you've got one or a GK terminator helmet. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/319687-the-burden-of-duty-the-end-of-the-beginning/page/10/#findComment-4550809 Share on other sites
Soldier of Dorn
I think I was gambling on a bit more flexibility with Tartaros than with other patterns of Terminator armor, seeing how similar the standard helmets are to Mark IVs. I'm not sure that a Cataphractii head would work due to how the torso of the plastic Tartaros is laid out, and I absolutely *despise* Grey Knight Terminator helmets aesthetically (not saying that other people shouldn't use them, I just don't care for them in any of my armies.) Just a quick update today, trying to get back into the swing of painting and modeling and keeping this thread updated. Did a quick paint job on one of my Silent Sisters, basically just testing out the color pallette. Learned a few things: firstly, that I am rubbish at applying Blood for the Blood God well with a sponge, so will be going back to brushing the stuff on: gives me more control anyhow. Secondly, Stirland Battlemire is not nearly as thick as I expected it to be, so I'll be rebasing her when I get the chance to make up a batch of my basing material. Runefire: Thanks bud, been absent a while, so I don't blame you for forgetting me. :) Afraid the Tartaros sergeant isn't mine, but rather one of Phedias' boys. bluntblade, Brother Pheidias, Pyroclast91 and 2 others 5 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/319687-the-burden-of-duty-the-end-of-the-beginning/page/10/#findComment-4569082 Share on other sites

Pyroclast91
Glad to see your getting your hobby mojo back brother I've been feeling the burnout a bit here recently too as all I wanna do is get my hands on several copies of BOP. But I'm forcing myself to finish what I have and wait til after Xmas before I buy them myself. Don't feel bad about the bloody sponge technique I couldn't figure out how to do anything but make a mess with out I think that stuff just plain works better with a brush if you want splatter rubber gloves and a stiff bristled brush have been my go to. Of course since you're actually splattering the paint like blood this can be extremely messy and isn't something you should do in a white shirt (trust me). Either way awesome work brother I've long been impressed by your work and can't wait to see more.
