How about;

Baradiel - angel of hail.
Barakiel - angel of lightning.
Kalaziel - angel who has the power to thwart demons of disease.
Nathanael - angel ruling over hidden things, fire and vengeance.
Rizoel - angel with power to thwart demons.
Rogziel - angel of punishment whose name means "the wrath of God."

So I took a break from uni work to throw together this guy.

He's a proof of concept for a Deathwatch marine I'm planning. I'm thinking he'll be a Howling Griffon if I can scrounge the Chapter shoulder pad from somewhere.

In case you can't tell, he's a big lad. Here he is beside a normal snap fit marine.

Here he's making friends with my Chaos Marine.

The legs are from Marneus Calgar, and the torso has been widened to accomodate the bigger legs.

I took a few WIP photos of the process if people are curious? Everything is held together with blu-tack for the moment, and the shoulder pads are just placeholders. Everything bar the torso and legs are potentially going to be changed.  This guy was made just for fun, but could potentially be used as a character for Deathwatch RPG. I'm toying with swapping out his bolter for a Sternguard one or FW bolter and I'll probably pad out his waist with pouches to cover the join.

C+C Welcome.

Just a quick update to show some of the stuff I've been working on for Loyalty and Treachery.

I've been working on the marines in batches of 5 to try and get them done quickly. I'm currently aiming for tabletop standard. I realized that I am a very slow painter and if I ever wanted to have a reasonable number of marines on the table I needed to stop painting models one at a time. The current plan is to try to get a reasonable amount of heresy models painted up to a basic level, then to add more detail, squad by squad.

Here are the bases for the marines. I'm not sure if I'll keep them on these bases or make new ones when I build more models and decide on a basing theme, but they get the job done for now. I still need to paint the rims and maybe add another wash or two.

It's been a while.

Thought I'd drop a little teaser.

I've just finished rereading one of my all time favourite 40k novels, which has inspired me to try and convert up a SW:A kill team based on some of the forces in the book. I'm trying to keep my force as accurate to the lore as possible, so I've been scribbling down notes in my notebook as I've been reading.

Now, telling you the title of the book or what force I'm planning seems like a boring plan, so instead I'm interested to hear your guesses.

Fight and win.

P.S. Expect beards. Lots of beards.

Maybe Ragnar Blackmane and his old pack mates?

Can't go wrong with a smattering of choom. ;)

Thanks for the comment Olis. I'll have to upload the finished photos of my choom squads when the lighting is decent. They're my first ever fully painted heresy squad, so that's something.

My secret project doesn't involve Ragnar. He doesn't even have a beard, as far as I'm aware, so you'll have to try again Olis.

I'm glad the honour goes to the ash makers.

I'm sure the MDRC thread would love to see them there. :tu:

*grumblegrumble*

Okay... how about... Gaunt's Ghosts? Some of them had beards...

So I think it's time to give you guys another clue or two.

Fair warning, it's not quite as easy as it looks. :whistling:

Their symbol is a winged sword.

Also, there are those in the Imperium who would consider the lot of them to be filthy traitors.

Happy guessing. :biggrin.:

Not the XVIth Obscura.

Well if you're offering, I'm sure the other half wouldn't mind a nice trip to California so I can do a little painting. I'm sure you'd be happy to pay for that, right?  :tongue.:

Speaking of purple...

Here are my finished dudes I painted for Loyalty and Treachery. They're my first fully painted squad for 30k, so I'm pretty chuffed with them.

The plan for these guys was to paint them to a basic tabletop standard that doesn't take too long to do, then to complete an army up to this standard. Once I have an army at a decent tabletop standard, I can go back and add extra highlights etc.

In the interest of painting quickly, I left trims purple. Once I come back to redo them, I'll probably pick them out in a different colour. However, I managed to paint these guys in a week or two, so I'm happy enough with how they look, for now.

Here's one that I converted. I'm pretty happy with how the strap came out. It's made from spare brass from the FW Brass sets.

And here's the squad's Rhino, which is the first vehicle I've ever managed to fully paint, so that's nice. :biggrin.: It's not the best paint job around, but it'll do until I get around to adding some more details and highlights.

C+C welcome, and keep those guesses coming.
