Tiger9gamer
413th Lucius Extermination Legion ForgeWorld: Lucius Colors: Red Cloaks (Khorne Red) Scorched Armor (Eshen gray) Cream leggings (Dheb stone) and Metallic Weapons (LeadBealcher) Specialty: Heavy Armor, Mechanized Infantry, Vehicle Destruction Battle Cry: “All shall bow before the law of Ohm.” Founding: The 413th Legion, founded in M32, was created in response to a need of arms in a Crusade under the command of Electro-Cardinal Ohminious Volt. The Crusade was to pierce the flank of a traitorous system near the edge of Segmentum Obscurus, and began it’s march when the Beast began his assault on the galaxy. With the galaxy in flames and with no way of returning to the Hollow Forge, the crusade stalled before it could even begin… until it heard the desperate cries of a little agricultural planet called Lorem, home of Household Cibus. The crusade turned it’s eye to the imperial aligned Knight world that was under assault by a vast fleet of Greenskin cruisers. With no junk moon in it’s orbit Lord Ohminious had free reign to smash through the Ork fleet and land his forces in support of the Knight household. The battle was a victory, and from there the Mechanicus began liberating the other planets in the system. The 413th Legion lead the counter-attack, and with the superior designs of the Omnissiah’s tanks they blasted apart the rolling junk heaps of the Greenskins. The holy energy of the motive force destroyed the engines of the Orks and lit up the worlds of Sector Lorem, bringing a new age of energy to the dark times of this galaxy. The Crusade spent all it’s energy in the defense of Sector Lorem, but gained the eternal gratitude of Household Cibus and added more worlds dedicated to Forgeworld Lucius. Since WAAGH! Beast, the 413th have battled across the galaxy under the command of many generals. The Onager divisions and the mechanized vanguard Maniples brought many worlds under the Imperium’s wings, and saw many forces left to rot under countless suns. They are among the longest lived legions lucius has, having been lost and reforged many times in the past centuries but always proving their loyalties to The Hollow Forge and to the Adepts Mechanicus. Forge World: Lucius has been named a marvel of the imperium, a jewel of human ingenuity and amazing technology. This strange world was hollowed out by forces unknown and in it’s center a shackled sun powers the industry of an entire world. Lucius has been known to have some of the most advance tech the universe has seen. The Teleportation technology widely used by the Warp Runners Titan legion being one such example, but some Skitarii legions have been fortunate enough to have transport ships equipped with such wonders of science. Honors: The Motive Crusade has shaped the foundation of the 413th since their founding. They bare the honors normally associated with Electro-Priests, namely the weapons of the Motive Force and the intense power they provide. This in of itself is an honor to the men of the 413th, one they wield into battle to strike down the enemies of the Mechanicus. They also take part in the Scorching of their armor and vehicles normally associated with the Skitarii of Lucius. Their armor and hulls of their vehicles are scorched under the artificial sun of the Hollow Forge, but their weapons and power packs are left out of such a ritual, as the intense heat could damage the delicate circuitry. Recruitment: The 413th draw their number from the millions upon millions of serfs that dwell and work within the hollow forge of Lucius. Many are willing to offer up their children or their own lives to be recreated in the image of the Machine God. Augmentations are mostly what passes for standard among the Skitarii, except for one little detail. Following the designs of Ohminious Volt, their augments are designed to be thoroughly insulated from the dangerous static weaponry and Arc Rifles the 413th favor so they will not suffer from the massive amount of Energy flowing through them. Built in Capacitors and Diodes are even capable of sending the excess energy of their augments into the enemy to stun them so they can massacre them in combat. Present Deployment: The 413th Legion is now under the command of Tech Priest Anguis in his crusades of vengeance across the cosmos, bringing destruction to those who think themselves safe and returning worlds back to the ever resource hungry machine of the imperium Combat Doctrines: An Armoured Company, the 413th Legion of Lucius uses a strange deployment that differs from most other skitarii legions. Using the vast resources of the Hollow Forge, the 413th have been known to field their vanguard inside the Rhino assault tanks, using the speed of enhanced engines to close with the enemy and deliver troops right to the front line in the relative safety the armor provides. This deployment is usually backed up by squads of Neutron Onagers and Dragoons, a mass of armor powering up the field to grab any objectives and deliver furious salvos from Arc rifles into the enemy. Though they favor this style of deployment the 413th legion have been known to utilize the usual method of the skitarii; marching up the field and pounding the enemy to dust. A particular quirk of the 413th lies in the style of frontline troopers they use. Instead of equipping vanguard with the all consuming destruction of rad weaponry, the 413th uses a type of Carbine that takes static electricity and transforms it into a potent anti-infantry weapon. Each round shot out of the Carbine carries an electric charge that releases energy upon impact with the target, and though the amount of energy is small when compared to the Arc or Galvanic Rifle, the amount of shots the carbines fire can electrocute even the glorious Astartes with the combined electrical shocks. The amount of electricity released with each salvo have been known to cause arcing between targets, sending the holy energy of the mechanicus through wholes squads. if the enemy manages to close with the vanguard, the skitarii can blast out energy much like electro priests can, paralyzing foes in place so they can be unceremoniously beaten to death by augmented fists. Champions of The Legion: Electro-Cardinal Ohminous Volt: The one who demanded the formation of the 413th and the creator of the Motive Crusade. He was a Giant, towering over even the most heavily augmented tech priests around him. Reports were made that he even towered above the legendary Astartes, but that is up to debate amongst his followers. He was odd compared to most tech priests, as his body had little modifications besides the Circuitry laid beneath his skin and the Metal Spine that ran up his back, along with the usual modifications most of his Order possess. Due to his immense size he could channel and command a A Large amount of Electricity, greater than most other Electro-Priests could ever dream of knowing. He commanded the large crusade known as the Motive Crusade, one that was meant to bring light to a fallen forge world, but instead rescued the Knight Household of Cibus when the Beast Arose. After he secured the world of Lorem he made it his personal home, Creating a monastery amid the mountains of the world. In the perpetual lightning storm amid the clouds did Ohminious made his home, and to this day Electro-Priests make the pilgrimage to see the final resting place of Electro-Cardinal Ohminous Volt. Alpha Prime Rhombus-23: During a past life, Rhombus-23 was an overseer on the Orbital Docks of Plinett. He lived a peaceful life, had a wife and two children, had a nice home near his job, everything an honest man of the Imperium could ask for… And then his world was destroyed when an Ork Waaaagh invaded the planet. He had tried to get his family to the evacuation zones when a group of storm boys attacked. After getting tossed aside like some worthless hive juvie, he watched as his family was brutally slaughtered for no reason other than the Ork’s entertainment. He stood, ready to end his life if he could only kill one single greenskin that grinned at him with malicious glee. Before he could join his family, however, the Orks exploded into clouds of blood and torn metal. A young neophyte of the cult mechanicus had directed his servitors to end the green skins, killing them so casually when the man’s own strength couldn’t stop the slaughter of his children. He saw then that the flesh was truly weak, and in that moment he knelt before the neophyte, pledging himself anew to the Mechanicus and the might of the Machine. He took the augmentations with a glee few surgeons could understand, and he was sent into his first battle amid the ruins of the same city he spent his life in. Through passion and cold determination he rose through the ranks quickly, ascending to sub-alpha, and then to Alpha of his own squad of Static Vanguard. Before every battle he replayed the memory of that moment he lost his family to the enemy, to remind himself why he gave up his humanity one augment at a time. After his a battle against the ruinous powers resulted in loosing 75 percent of his body, he took the final steps to becoming a true weapon of the Mechanicus and was remade into a Thallax. Thus he stripped away the last of his humanity, and soon he rose to the Rank of Alpha-Prime, second only to the Tech Priests that command him. Even in this state he plays his memories on a loop, never forgetting his one goal in his service; So that one day no other father may suffer the same pain as he did on that bloody day. Tech Priest Anguis Diode: The current commander of the 413th had a humble start. Born to the Forge workers who barely managed to support themselves, Acidus was found to be a young prodigy when he completely disassembled and reassembled his family’s cognitor for fun. He was quickly offered to the Tech Priests of Lucius to taught, and though many disdained his lowly start none could deny his ability to repair machines. He was taught how to repair bigger and stronger machines, each challenge he met with an enthusiasm his old teacher found perplexing. In no time he risen to the rank of Enginseer, and rather than be attached to a guard regiment, the young, peaceful Anguis was sent to the Agri-world of Siligo. There he tended to the great tractors and harvesters that belonged to the farmers of the world. It was a paradise, with wars that were far away and endless machines he could fix for the citizens of Siligo. The Paradise did not last, and after 8 years of doing his duty to the people of Siligo, the fertile world was turned to ash. The legions of the Archenemy descended on the world on wings of fire, slaughtering the families that Anguis befriended and burning the vast fields of nourishment as a sacrifice to the dark gods. Anguis and the rest of his mechanicus brethren managed to escape on the last grain hauler to leave the system, watching the chaos ships blast the earth from orbit. Anguis took a vow of vengeance as they left the system, promising his machine god that he will make every enemy of the Imperium pay for every live they took. As soon as he was transported back to Lucius Anguis began his transformation from simple engineer to a warlord. He Studied under the vicious teachers of the Ordo Reductor, and learned all he could about the great war machines that belonged to the Legio Cybernetica. He transformed himself, his enhancements and augments turning his once human form into a snake like creature built only for war, a legend of the Apex Predators that were native to Siligo. He became the apprentice to those Tech Priests that commanded the skitarii legions, and after half a Century of war he rose to be the commander of a great Ordo Reductor Matrix, and after three successful campaigns he was given command of the 413th Extermination legion. Finally, with the tools he needed he waged holy war against the enemies of the imperium as he had vowed almost 200 years before, and through his crusades he rescued countless technologies that would have been lost to the countless enemies of the Imperium. Honored Engagements: Battle of Lorem Prime, 544.M32: The 413th's first Battle in their long history. Under command of Electro-Cardinal Ohminious Volt, The 413th broke the invasion of the Knight World of Lorem prime and sending the Greenskins running. Because of this battle the Knights of Household Cibus pledged new oaths to the Forge World of Lucius, and the Lorem System was saved from the xenos barbarians. The Incident at Calhix-3: The 413th and a successor chapter of the blood angels allied together to battle against the nefarious Eldar, Taking to the field along side the sons of Sanguinius in a hit and run campaign when a tech priest had noticed the peculiar tank designs the marines were using. In a fit of anger he ordered the 413th back when the marines charged forward to meet the Xenos. They had prevailed over the enemy, but not without losses that could have been avoided. The 4th company Captain of the {REDACTED} turned a part of his force around to confront the mechanicus force. The messages and questions over the Vox were ignored, and as soon as the chapter’s Baal Predators got into range of the 413th’s arc rifles the mechanicus attacked. The skirmish was short but bloody, with many marines either dying or succumbing to the Red Thirst, and an entire battalion of Vanguard perishing under their blades. The Captain himself was slain by a neutron laser, but the Marines were able to protect the designs of their Baal Predators and force the Mechanicus to retreat. After the Execution of that tech priest and a generous donation of a new battle cruiser the two forces parted ways after the Eldar were driven from the world, and both sides keeping a weary eye on each other as they parted ways. Raid on Arcus 44, 900.M40: The 413th were sent to deal with the Dark Eldar incursion that came upon the unsuspecting world of Arcus 44. The Armored Transports of the 413th proved vital in protecting the Skitarii from the poisoned weaponry of the raiders, and the Onagers of the 413th were all but untouchable, striking down Eldar transports and murdering blasphemous Talos Engines with ease. Battle of Cavvix, 200.M41: A detachment of the 413th was sent to fetch a fallen relic on the outskirts of no man's land in the battle against the Iron Warriors. The 413th slaughtered the armor sent against them with the holy force of their Arc Rifles, and the Khornite Champion fell to the Volkite of the Dominus overseeing the extraction of this prized relic. Admist the confusion a single marine almost made his escape with the ancient cognitor, but he was vaporized with a precise blast of a neutron laser, turning him to dust and leaving the cognitor intact from the blast. Reaving of Lorem 310.M41: The Lorem System came under attack by the infamous Rak'gol, and once more the 413th were called upon to protect the system they defended millennia ago. The 413th’s war fleet engaged in a running battle against the Xenos Pirates, with the 413th defending their mighty technology from the monstrous Rak’gol. Many ships were lost, as well as thousands of skitarii soldiers, but in the end the 413th was victorious when they sent the Rak’gol flagship into the gravitational pull of Lorem’s sun after a daft tactic that sent boarding parties of the 413th’s Onagers into the scrap ship. The 413th lost a full battalion of Onagers, a massive blow to the armored company that was the 413th. Curiosity on Damocles 740.M41: A battalion of the 413th was sent with Tech Priest Quid to the Damocles Arena to bring back some of the curious tech the Tau created. The small force managed to track down a tau garrison force manning an outpost on a backwater moon, and soon met in battle. Tech priest Quid was logged as laughing hysterically when a Tau commander inside a suit that made him fly like a Lightning fighter was shot down from a single icarus missile, resulting in the suit crashing and the commander liquifying upon impact. In all the 413th managed to recover two Neutron hollowed out wrecks of the Tau grav tanks, 4 stealth suits, a Ghostkeel and about 20 or so rifles, returning back to lucius with the prize and an amusing story to share with his fellow priests. War of Umbra Aqua, 990.M41: An echo of their first engagement against the Hordes of the Orks, The 413th invaded to the former ocean world of Umbra Aquad to regain it's resources for the mechanicus. The force was lead by Tech Priest Anguis, who planned the downfall of the Ork Hive known simply as "Brawltopia" and sent the Freebootah turned Mayor Kaptin Klawjaw fleeing back into the void. Slime Dog's Uprising 997.M41: When the infamous ganger known as Slime Dog got control of a las-rifle cache he started a worker revolt in the lower levels of the Hive World Lucius, planning on trying to catch a ship to take his criminal empire elsewhere. The 413th were sent down into the depths of the forge to eradicate the Gang overseers and those they forced to take up arms. Only 40 skitarii and 3 dunecrawlers where sent in under the command of Rhombus-23 against a horde that numbered over 100. They were destroyed within the hour by the crackling Static-Carbines and blasts of cleansing Neutron fire, with Slime Dog getting cut down during a duel with Rhombus. The fleeing gangers where traced back to their base of operations, and a KillClade of Ruststalkers were sent in to slaughter every last one of them. Wall Breakers of Obscurus Unknown.M41: The 413th Legion, under Magos Reductor Anguis Diode, joined the Iron Knights during the Constantinus Iconoclasm during the 13 years of the war. Their combined expertise in Siege warfare laid many bastions to ruin and turned many cities into rubble. The 413th's most famous battle was during the pacification of borite-99. Fanatical chaotic cults under the command of fallen blood angels strapped demolition charges to their bodies and charged against a Cohort Cybernetica the legion was supporting. The streets soon ran red with blood as Castellex robots turned their bodies to shreds and their vehicles to scrap. only two of the enemy managed to escape the battlefield out of the hundreds that charged the mechanicus lines. Archived Battle Reports: Battle of Lorem Prime, 544.M32: The 413th’s legacy began when the great Greenskin Warlord known as The Beast launched his assault across the cosmos. The 413th were intended to provide heavy armored support and manpower for the infamous Motive Crusade of Lord Ohminious Volt, but when Attack moons sprung up across the galaxy, They stalled. Their target, a fallen forge held by a traitorous Heretek, was utterly destroyed by one such moon, it’s secrets lost. The Crusade was over before it even began, but Lord Volt did not choose to return to the Hollow Forge. Daily they Received hundreds of distress calls from hopeless worlds, shifting through loss causes until Ohminious found the chance to put his fleet to work. A cry from a little agricultural world of Lorem, Home of the Knights Cibus, was heard by the great Electro-Cardinal, and he brought their salvation. The Fleet that had been designed from the ground up for conquest entered the system to find that rather than a junk moon orbiting the planet, the defenders were beset upon by thousands of junk cruisers. The Orks had thought the battle over, and were in the process of splitting the booty when the Motive Crusade attacked. Magnificent energy arced from ship to rusty ship. Other Greenskin battleships were sucked dry of any electricity, creating lifeless, hollow husks. With the power of no less than three Arc Mechanicii and other wonders of the Technological dark age the Greenskins were blasted apart and scattered to the celestial wind. The way was now clear for the counter invasion. Up until this point, The knights had fought valiantly against the horde, but they had lost many brethren and much of their land. From a great fortress they made their last stand, guns running dry and engines losing power whilst a tide of beasts pounded at their gates with artillery and idols to savage gods. The King of Lorem was preparing a final charge, sending word of their fate into the stars so that the imperium may know of their heroism. Then the unthinkable happened… They had a reply urging them to hold on. Millions of drones filled the sky, Servo-Skulls and Cyber Eagles each measuring and sending glorious data to the mechanicus above. They studied the battlements of the fortress, the sea of Orks and the positions of the Xenos Armor. Every errant stone was taken into account and relayed back to the command centers, and both sides wondered to what end. The drones gathered above the very rear of the enemy, around the flanks that were left wide open. No enemy could have been there to threaten these orks… Or so they thought. Reality Split across the battle field, and in a second a one sided battle turned. The Battle plans of the Motive Crusade were revealed in full, and the mechanicus suddenly had surrounded the orks. the Skitarii of the 413th were unleashed upon the flanks of the enemy thanks to the wondrous technology of teleportation, and not even a second passed between translation before their guns sang. The first wave of the Tech Guard opened up a new front to this war, and more men came down from orbit via troop transports. Ork Artillery was silenced, emplacements shattered, Tank Battalions ground to dust under the firepower of the 413th. when the initial momentum of the attack stalled, yet more forces came from the heavens, and the titans of Warp Runners were teleported to the field, destroying the false idols of the Orks in one fell swoop. This new front was not the only area to see the grace of the mechanicus. The Fortress of Cibus saw itself a sudden host to countless Electro priests that recharged the turbo lasers and repaired the heavily damaged void shields. Battlements once made to hold titans were now occupied by Ordo Reductor artillery tanks, and Myrmidons filled the breaches rent into the fortress walls. Lord Ohminious himself made planetfall in the first wave, Standing amongst the Souless machines of the Legio Cybernetica. They defended the gates of the fortress while the glorious machines of Household Cibus were recharged, and they joined in as the final Knights of Lorem charged into the heart of the greenskin forces. Electro-Cardinal Ohminious dualed against the leader of the Greenskin invasion, sucking his life force from his bones before blasting the corpse to dust. The GreenSkins were crushed from both sides by the Masterpiece gears of a war machine, and none escaped the wrath of Household Cibus . After the battle, the King of Lorem approached the victorious Ohminious, and knelt before him. He renewed his oaths, this time pledging himself to the Forge World of Lucius, a pact which remains to this day. Upon their victory the Motive Crusade turned to defense, fortifying and liberating the worlds of Sector Lorem, holding them from the encroaching darkness of the times. Cibus's fallen knights were recovered, the planet returned to it’s formal glory. Lorem is now one of the largest suppliers of food to the Hollow Forge, and a pilgrimage site for Electro-priests across the galaxy. The 413th deeds were now legendary, forged in the fires of the 32nd millennium and proven to be fierce warriors of the Mechanicus. During the battle this legion fresh from the forges had honed their skill of armored assaults, and for the remainder of the crisis were a model of the might of the Motive Force. War of Umbra Aqua, 990.M41: The 413th, Under the command of the Ambitious Tech Priest Anguis, were drawn to the planet of Umbra Aqua. The planet was once a world almost entirely submerged in water, but due to the massive amounts of natural minerals and unrefined Promethium the Adeptus mechanicus had the planet entirely drained of water, committing mass genocide on the peaceful civilization under the waves just for the sake of resources. Since the great draining, the mechanicus began a colony to start the mining, laying the foundations of a massive hive on the former floor of a great ocean. The forge world of Lucius received much from Umbra Aqua, and though it was only a drop in the bucket compared to all the other resources it gathered. Still, It was enough for the Forge to notice when the shipments finally and completely stopped. They sent a scout fleet to see what had happened. Upon entering the system, The fleet was met with the rough engine signatures of a freebootah war band, and the scouts barely had enough time to leave before the Orks fell upon them. Tech Priest Anguis was sent to discover the means of this infestation, and he was sent with An Oathsworn detachment of Household Cibus, A Maniple of the Warp Runners, and the entirety of the 413th. The 413th itself had around 70,000 engagements, both large and small against the greenskins, and their tactical knowledge would prove vital in this extermination. In an echo of the Fleet engagement over Lorem Prime, Tech Priest Anguis used his Ark Mechanici’s arcane electricity based weaponry to absorb all the energy from the freebooter’s ships, and the rest of the guns pounded the Xenos ships back to the scrap they were made from. The fleet soon made orbit over Umbra Aqua, and scanned the planet, but they could find no human life, and millions of green skins. The drones sent down to the surface were harried by DakkaJets and other attack craft, but enough made it down to see what became of the the former hive… and the Ire of the 413th grew. The 100 million strong population has been replaced with a near infinite amount of Greenskins, it’s towering steel and strong walls defaced with the ugly glyphs of the Xenos, and the new name of the city was painted in the blood of slaughtered humans… “Brawltopia” The 413th no longer had the ways of the mass teleportation as they did during the Motive Crusade, but they still possessed enough tech to teleport down a battalion of skitarii to create a beachhead, a landing zone to receive the rest of the fleet’s armies. With Mechanicus interceptors engaging the Ork fighters in the atmosphere, the troop and titan transports landed under heavy ground fire. the Orks had come out to meet them, driving blasphemous tanks against the beach head like the ancient tides the planet once had. Skitarii barely came out of the transport before falling to the defense of the landing zone, but soon the enemy was driven back. With Brawltopia on the horizon, the mechanicus set out to reconquer this imperial rock. The Mechanicus began a great march to the city, with titans blasting the Greenskins that poured out of the city gates to get to the first real fight in years. After the initial mob rush of the Orks, the 413th found that a quick approach would be murderous, for the hive’s walls were covered in guns to a ridiculous degree, annihilating anything in it’s range with sheer firepower. A decision was made, and the 413th would dig in. The 413th guarded construction servitors that made trench lines. Bastions and Vengeance Batteries were raised to the precise order of Tech Pries Anguis, measured and dug into the earth to provide barracks, fields of fire and protection against the city. A no Man’s land was created between the gunline of the mechanicus and the guns of the Orks, and though there were countless skirmishes as the circle grew, the fortifications were completed in a few weeks of non-stop work. After further surveys of the world, Anguis found that there were more points of Ork Civilizations dotted across the world. The canyons carved by the world’s currents were home to workshops that burrowed into the rock, ones that constantly created scrap tanks and ugly walkers. The great dune sea all around Hive Brawltopia was also home to roving bands of speed freaks that charged through the sand. The Orks thus far have been divided amongst many petty warbosses and warlords, each with their own style of quick moving vehicles that ruled the sands. More information was gathered, and the Mechanicus found the names of each warlord of the different tribes. Mel Boss Clacktoof owned the mountain factories, HelRusha was gathering the warlord of the dunes, and the city was owned by a Warboss known as Mayor KlawJaw. This latest name had stuck a cord with the Mechanicus, for KlawJaw was a Freebootah responsible for hundreds of lost ships in the last hundred years, completely shutting off a shipping lane until the Iron Knights chapter was sent to deal with it. Records were corrected, and a battle plan was laid out. The 413th was to split, Omega Army holding the fortifications, Beta Army to crush Clacktoof, and Gamma to chase down Helrusha. The allied forces also split, with the Knights assigned to Beta and an Ordo Reductor detachment sent to assist omega. Omega army had the task of besieging Brawltopia since the start of the war, but even while attacking the mechanicus had to be on constant guard. Every day brought a new attack, a new attempted escape the encirclement or to stomp the humans into dust. Every defense against this was measured, however. When Ork Zeppelins rose from the hive, Onagers armed with icarus arrays swatted them back down. When the floodgates opened to unleash the green tide, they were broken upon the servitor manned trenches in short order. Rangers designed after the famous Death Korp of Krieg repel Komando excursions almost nightly. Ordo Reductor artillery bombarded the city constantly, but the guns of Brawltopia meant that the famed onagers of the 413th could not get close enough to bring their weapons of pinpoint destruction against the walls. With the rest of the 413th battling the other warlords, Tech Priest Anguis only needed Omega army to hold the line and keep the orks trapped. Beta, under the command of Tech Priest Anguis was met during it’s approach with an army of mechanical madness. Ork walkers of various sizes stumbled out of the canyons, tanks rolled through the rocky outcroppings to take aim on the quick moving armored column of the 413th. The Knights of Cibus was the spearhead of the assault, the ancient battles of Lorem still echoing in the souls of the mounts. Behind them the armored spearhead of the 413th rolled forward in their Rhino transports, Skirarii taking shots of opportunity against the horde. The two lines met, and the Knights carved a great wound in the enemy while the 413th disembarked and advanced, Static carbines on full auto and arc rifles creating sizzling wrecks in the sand. Though they were many, the Orks were unprepared and were slowly ground back into the canyon walls before breaking into a retreat once the final Gorkanaught was slain. Though there was great slaughter as Beta Army rolled through the retreating orks, many got away from them and took shelter inside the labyrinthian canyons. For the next month the vanguard flushed the canyons of the orks, burning corridors with precisely measured fire from flame throwers and destroying the factories that produced the Ork Walkers. The fighting was grim and bloody, but quality prevailed in this battle. The final blow was stuck when the knight of Household Chibus, named the Thunder Child, destroyed Klacktoof’s personal Stompa in single combat, kicking it back into it’s own hanger before it’s reactor exploded and took out the Workshop… along with half the cliffside. Leaving only a small force of vanguard to torch the cliffs and ensure that no orks survived Gamma, under Alpha Prime Rhombus-23 had a much more difficult time battling against Helrusha and his road-bashas. Their vehicles were much faster than the closely regulated engines of the mechanicus, and ran circles around the relatively slow APC’s of the 413th. The commander had to find an alternative for catching the orks, and thus he turned to the tenants of stealth laid down by the masters of the Raven Guard. Such knowledge was a gift from the Sons of Corax from times unremembered, and only found when a deep query was put to Tech Priest Anguis. Using the theories and doctrines put into the book, the Thallax alpha used one of the most basic ambush tactics he could find. With drones following the massive warbands of the greenskins, Rhombus allocated half of his dragoon outriders to the chase. He had them push their engines to their limits to pull them into a crater ridden landscape, and then the trap was sprung. The APC’s of the skitarii enclosed the only opening between the rocky hills, creating a wall of blessed metal across the only escape, Rangers from positions atop the hills picking out targets amongst the horde. Arc Rifles destroyed the simple circuits and Arquebuses punched holes in engines and flesh alike. With fire raining down from above, Rhombus sent in his killclades to rush through the Orks while Thallax moved swiftly from position to position to deal with the rowdy pockets of resistance. No ork survived the ambushes, and thus no word came to the other hordes of the tactics. Rhombus used this tactic again and again until finally he captured Helrusha’s mob against a mountain range that reached into the sky, pinning him in place and slowly crushing the war band against the unforgiving stones. Rhombus-23 and Helrusha got into a duel on top of his crushed Battlewagon, ending with the Thallax brutally ripping the commander in two with his power fist. Again, not a single ork survived the slaughter, ensuring the encirclement of Brawltopia remained unbroken. Finally, with the other two armies destroyed, the 413th could regroup and prepare for the final assault. Anguis deigned the attack with assistance from Rhombus-23 and his Ordo Reductor Allies. The Onagers of the 413th were to gather from their positions around the trenches. gathering together into one force, their shields growing stronger and stronger from each onager joining the force. Soon the combined field was as strong as any Void Shield generated on a capitol ship, and at a command the onagers walked forward, protecting the APC’s of the 413th behind them. The rate of fire from Brawltopia was fierce, a constant rain of heavy caliber bullets striking the armor and shields of the 413th. Many tanks were destroyed from local field overloads, but still they marched until finally the guns were in range. Combining fire from the Ordo Reductor artillery, the Neutron lasers of the 413th annihilated the great walls of Brawltopia, bringing the reinforced metal of the hive crumbling down. Orks rushed in to fill the breach, but the Onagers parted to reveal Tech Priest Anguis and his personal cohort of cybernetic warriors. The Onager tanks and soulless robots cut down swaths of Greenskins with directed fire from their guns, marching into the horde without fear to crush the Orks into paste. Anguis commanded the advance from his Dias, Using it’s arcane weaponry to blast through the hordes as well as repair the damaged robots around him. The crawler tanks climbed what was left of walls, the robots sending the defenders running back into their city. With the breach secure the tanks of the 413th drove into the city unmolested, and thus began the grueling months of city fighting. Building to building the battle was fought through the once imperial hive. Static Rifles cut down rushing mobs of the Orks while Shootas blasted them down a second later. Galvanic rifles picked off the Nobs and other large green skins, only for the rangers to get burned to a crisp a by Burnas. Rhombus-23 led his thallax warriors in clearing the roofs of Mek Guns, meeting the charging storm boys in combat above the streets. Buildings fell, tanks were destroyed, but still the 413th marched on. Anguis barely left his command throne as he directed his Cohort Cybernetica through the streets, providing mobile fire support when needed. Servitors were sent on suicide missions to bring down bunkers that seemed to be at the end of every avenue. finally, the location of Mayor Klawjaw was found… Directly at the heart of the city. The manor that once was home to this feeble planet’s governor was now a gladiatorial arena, a place where even during the battle his men fought each other to the death for his amusement. With the precision characteristic of the great forge of Lucius, The 413th spearheaded an assault towards the Town Hall, battling through the Greenskins that stood in their way. Neutron lasers killed the gun emplacements of the Hall, and vanguard advanced behind a line of APC’s to deliver death at a close range. The fighting pushed into the cramped, claustrophobic halls of the once great manor, orks seeming to just materialize from thin air as they rushed towards the attackers. Finally, in the center of the arena, Anguis and Mayor Klawjaw had their duel. Feral might meant the cold calculations of the machine, and where ever the ork stuck a counter attack was created and executed. The ork warboss was bisected from shoulder to hip after the final blow, but before his body could hit the bloody ground a teleportation flare blasted the arena in light. The war boss’s head was torn from his body, and not seconds later reports from orbit came down that a small warp fairing vessel took off from the planet. without a leader the orks predictably fell to infighting and Brawltopia was soon ground to dust and cleansed of the Ork filth. The materials were recycled to replace the materials loss in the battle and a small contingent of Skitarii was stationed there, waiting for the arrival of a new workforce that was to be sent down on the planet. The 413th were severely depleted by the end of this war, but the amount of resources regained was deemed worthy of such a sacrifice. Tech Priest Anguis was given them as his personal legion for further crusades, and little time was wasted between recruitment and the next campaign. Tiger9gamer
So I thought that I may as well put down my army submission for the 2016 Brotherhood of angels in a seperate thread to get more feedback... and only now do I realize the crappy dollar store novel of fluff I wrote for my battles! seriously, I know I wrote a lot but not to this extent! I put the two battles into seperate spoilers as not to make this page a wall of text, but I would still appreciate feedback on my writing! even if it means cutting back on the long winded battle stories. Tiger9gamer
Alright, did some major fixes in my update. After committing both major battles that took up way to much space I decided to put the two detailed battle stories into two separate spoilers to keep the page from getting too long. Don't worry I will edit the War on Umbra Aqua, just... Some other time. I made shorter reports in the honored battles (most of which are based on actual games I had) and moved the rest around. So far I'm pretty happy, but I would like to hear more feedback for this! Grand Master Belial
I'll need a bit more time to read the battle stories but it works to keep them hidden as spoilers. Almost like clicking the link opens up the whole story of the battle and allows it to be "long-winded" but the short excerpt will suffice for the casual glance. Tiger9gamer
Alright, Added The Honors, Recruitment and A legendary member of the legion's history to the page. What do you guys think? CommodusXIII
I'll echo Belial's compliment about using the Spoiler tag. It's a great tool for organizing large blocks of text, and one that I might have to make better use of in the future! I think every army should have a strong central theme, and your choice of static/electrical weapons is both unique and characterful. It's a great way to represent the mechanics of rad-weaponry in a completely different form. I also rather like the wordplay in the name Ohminous. It's clear that the 413th Legion is exceptional at its work. To make future stories even more gripping, I'd stack the odds heavily against them. Leading your troops to glorious victory is a great feeling in the 40K universe, but it's even better when you win despite horrendous loses or incredible misfortune. Stories are driven by conflict, whether internal or external - true character is forged in the fires of near-defeat, while unchallenged success can lead to fatal hubris. Something to think about. Thank you! I tried to have a dual theme going on between the electical weaponry and the armored company aspect. I like to imagine there are places where the Mechanicus maybe doesn't want to create a Fallout style wasteland, such as a recaptured forge world or an improtant agri-world. And Thank you. I had that name and general idea kicking around in my skull since I started my Appliance repair corse, and i'm glad I was finally able to share it. I am going to try and make it so their battles are less glorious victories and add in a few more close victories, especially in the extended reports. maybe make it so one company was almost completely wiped out or something, I dunno. I did try with my latest battle to make it less one-sided, though. Also as of this update I added Alpha-Prime Rhombus-21 to the Legends of the Legion, as well as the Reaving of Lorem. Hope to hear what you guys think! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/321848-413th-lucius-extermination-legion/#findComment-4383818 Share on other sites
Tiger9gamer
Alright, Added one of my final fluff pieces I think (aside from edits and such) for my overall commander, Tech Priest Anguis Diode. I really hope I didn't make him too mary sue like with what I had in mind. Here he is in a seperate little spoiler collapsable: Tech Priest Anguis Diode: The current commander of the 413th had a humble start. I would love some Critiques and comments! Carrack
One of the things I like, is how you have created motivations for the characters, they are well done. Tiger9gamer
One of the things I like, is how you have created motivations for the characters, they are well done. Thank you! One of the things I like to think about while writing this stuff and 40k in general: Why would someone give up so much of their humanity? what could be their motivation for a guy who doesn't want power or fame to become a general? One idea I have that's simple: To end all war, and no matter what they give up or how hopless the task is they still fight. Tiger9gamer
Long time no Update!! Here is something I just decided to add after reading about my second favorite chapter, the Iron knights (Wait, Self insert, what do you mean by that?!) Wall Breakers of Obscurus Unknown.M41: The 413th Legion, under Magos Reductor Anguis Diode, joined the Iron Knights during the Constantinus Iconoclasm during the 13 years of the war. Doctor Perils
No trouble reviving an old thread as long as it's your own ;) Unfortunately, I'm not really up to date enough with much of the Skitarii stuff so can't comment much on your work, but it's looking good :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/321848-413th-lucius-extermination-legion/#findComment-5120644 Share on other sites
