Thanks very much for the kind words, I'll give it a go and see how it looks,  I have painted the pilot now so I'll being gluing that canopy on now. Hoping that I don't screw it up!

 

I found half a Centurion in my bitz box and decided to make an Obliterator. I'm quite happy with how he came out, for a days work. I used bits from the helbrute and anything else I founs lying about my Bitzboxes.

Your guy looks quite cool, I like the head choice and the shield.

To me, obliterator should be somehow more organic looking (don`t get me wrong the current models are bad, yours is clearly far better but I`m still hoping for a creaturewhich is still a marine but also a giant organic machine-thing, which would do this older artwork justice ( http://creativetwilight.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/Obliterator.jpg ) ).

Aside from that cool looking which definitly has some Word Bearer swag, carrying that big "Bible of Evil" and all that.

Cheers for the kind words. I totally agree with you. GW could make some awesome Obliterators if they could be bothered. The old ones are really starting to show their age. And seeing what some people can do with them conversion wise really should give them a kick up the backside. For me it's the squatting pose of the mini's thats the main problem. That and their pea heads.

I really don't like GW's daemon flesh on the Obliterators, but the naff pose and heads don't help either. Good job with the counts as, should look ace painted up.

Thanks Mechanist, it's getting there slowly. Had an awesome all out infantry game on Tuesday which inspired me to get three squads painted up over the last 2 days. They're not toally finished. I want to get some decal on them and stuff. Maybe add some foliage to the bases. But table top wise I'm happy to field them now (I hate fielding unpainted models).

That's some great progress there, one day I might be able to consider knocking out 3 units in 2 day. Looking as good as that would be the icing on the cake.

last time I painted 21 models for an army it took six months and then some.

I've started my Noise Marines. The forge World bodies are too cool to be covered up by Sonic Blasters so I bought a box of possesed Marines to give the Sonic Blasters to. Here's the squad champion so far.

I've currently got 10 Chaos Marines on the painting bench, 4 Terminators and a squad of Raptors. Not a lot

Been playing a few 30k games with my old Emperors Children army recently. They've ben great fun, I'm hoping that with a bit of fine tuning I'll be able to play the Word Bearers as a Heresy era army as well. I'm trying to get the look of the Legion not long after the Heresy or when the Heresy is in full flow, hence the abundance of mk4 armour.

I've been quite busy at work recently so haven't had much time to post up progress, but today I change that. I have a completed Raptor Squad, a completed 10 man CSM squad and a WIP squad of Gal Vorbak. I may have bought Lorgar today so I guess Heresy is calling.

The Gal Vorbak are a kitbash using the possessed bits and mkIV bits. I wanted to see how they work before dropping £48 on the FW ones. We had a Campaign day at the club this weekend, I used my Emperors Children army and did alright. Considering I built the army when book 1 came out and never added to it with all the special units, I managed to beat 2 out of 3 armies. Nicely balanced ruleset that they got there.

looking good.The Possessed/Gal Vorbak should work well in both settings as long as nobody mind the slight size difference as I believe the Gal Vorbak are closer to a true scale size. Still if you do pick up some official ones you should get away with a mix and match. 

The rest are looking great, I recon it must be time soon for some army shots.

Cheers man, when I was looking at the models it looked like they were on 40mm bases and these guys are on the 32mm bases. Might just take 2 units! You can never be too possessed.

I have an army shot here and some close up's of the nearly completed Gal Vorbak. I need to spend a bit more time with the eyes on these guys. But overall I'm pretty happy with how they're coming along. Also a shot of my Terminators.

thanks guys. I've definitley made a conscious effort to try and distribute the chaos bitz around the mkIVs. I've got five more marines to work on but I'm not sure what to make with them. I was considering Seekers or a Tactical Support squad.I like the idea of Seekers gunning down the false Prophets of the Imperium but, then there's CHOOM!!. Decisions, decisions.

Do the Kakophoni come with all the parts pictured on FW's website, or is it an 'upgrade' kit?

 

Could I build five full guys with the FW kit or would I need legs/torsos/pauldrons from another kit?

The kakophoni are 5 full guys. The shoulder pads are sperate pieces but are included in the set. The bodies and heads are all one piece. It was just that the models were so nice I didn't want to obscure the torsos with the weapons. They are a really nice kit with lots of little flourishes on the armour. If my EC's weren't loyalists I would've used them in that army for sure.
