We come bearing his word (now with added Sons of Horus)

Recommended Posts

No worries mate.

So this guy turned up at work today asking if i'd heard about this "Primordial Truth"....

I'm painting a section of armour at a time and forcing myself not to rush him. All the pieces are dry fitted so far. I really like the model, so I'm going to try and do him justice. I'll be running him as Lorgar transfigured so I'm painting his armour red.

Cheers,

Rob

That Lorgar's definitely shaping up into something excellent! I think Illuminarium would have profited from being painted - at least partially - in silver, however, as all the bronze/gold does seem a bit overwhelming. And how about adding a subtle glow to the recesses of the spiked ball at the heart of the maul...?

i wouldnt weather him, he just looks to clean and i think he'll looks just as good as is. Also I think green could work really well, maybe even a turquoise for the Illuminarium, looking really good overall though thumbsup.gif

How's this?

The reason I haven't got him looking down the stairs is because I quite like the idea of him standing over the precipice as it were. He has chosen to ascend and has reached the top. I think the rocks need a bit more drybrushing as well.

The green goes well on the Illuminarium, as does the silver to break up all the gold.

I'd also leave him unweathered. Do you have plans to add any glow to the runes carved into the rocks, perhaps in a similar green to the Illuminarium?

Hi all, it's been a while since I've posted but work has been getting in the way of hobby time. (lousy work). Any hoo, I've not been totally idle, I got a Contemptor to convert to a Mortis and made some Blade Slaves to go with a converted Layak I made. I also made an Apothecary to attach to my tactical squad, and a Squadron of Landspeeders with which to annoy and destroy opponents armour. They're all still WIP but my aim is to get them all completed by Nov. 5th for the event thats happening at the local club. Last time my Emperors Children did really well, but I'm still trying to figure out a decent list for the Word Bearers. Oh, in the background you may notice a converted Tarantula Hyperios I built to help mitigate pesky flyers.

Thanks mate, these guys are pretty basic, I layer them with Khorne Red over a MEchanicum Grey undercoat. Then I wash them with Druchi Violet and make sure I push it around the model so it doesn't pool. And really that's it. If i want to highlight them I go back over the high points with Khorne Red, but I tend to let the weathering highlight the edges more.

Evening all,

I have spent the day making CHOOM noises in my head and painted up this squad and an Apothecary to add some survivability. I think I'll probably use them as rear guard support. And try and disintergrate anything that gets too close to the old summoning ceremonies and blood rituals.

The pics arent the best sorry about that, but you get the idea.

Cheers,

Rob

Hiya, I picked up the Herald from GW today. I wanted a suitably bulky looking Praetor for my Word Bearers, and his spiky greaves were just the ticket. So I've given him a Tainted Weapon, a Combi-Bolter and the head from the old Chaos Warriors sprue.

So here is a WIP of Praetor Bacurius.

I think I'll probably paint up the Chaos knee pad in Gold to have it stand out a bit more and get a decal on that big ol' belt buckle. now have a suitable spare head for a Jokaero Weaponsmith.

Cheers for looking

Rob

Howdy gang,

So with the Battle of Prospero being out and all, and me not being a huge fan of the Space Wolves, I decided to convert the not-Bjorn into a Sons of Horus praetor.

He still needs a proper base and some weathering and a chapter symbol but I'm quite pleased with how he's turning out. Maybe I'll go back and look at my Sons of Horus and add a few more guys to them.

Cheers,

Rob
