+++E Tenebrae Lux V - Space Wolves Strategium+++

Recommended Posts

Wow... That is a lot of speeders!!

Well done on the re-vow Wulfgar. smile.png

Gnenthaal, that Caestus is sweet. I would consider the stripes, but I feel that would be too busy for the model.

So with most folks liking the red, here is where I am at for ideas.

If you like the cream then hopefully you can visualise that too.

One again apologies for my super-crappy art work

The cream stripes because it will help tie in with the Spartan. I could possibly do the cream stripes on the lower wing as well.

Red circles are where the Wolves Chapter/ Legion symbol will go.

Dragons will be done in gold, the black spaces will be red.

The second design, Where the bars are in the body, I am thinking to put in some Nores runes & the wing which goes over its head could be extended along the fuselage for a bit of decoration?

Thoughts?

Great to see progress here guys, but I'm a bit concerned with your completion rate here... Wulfgar76made a marvellous completion and lost no time in re-vowing, which is exactly the strategy you guys should be going after! You can do better than DAs and BAs by just matching their completion rates (given your higher average vow) and you can even threaten Chaos and HH with a high enough completion rate. So let's see those completions rolling in!

UPDATED TO THIS POINT!

I did get some work done last night, but no photos yet. Since today is my Father's Day (grumbles about the stupid Army), I'm gonna try to stop into my first ever GW store on my family outing. Maybe I'll be able to score some sweet plastic/resin. Wish me luck.

I, Viddar, rise to the challenge of E TENEBRAE LUX and for the glory of Rout vow to complete :

Wolf lord, thunder hammer, storm shield, thunderwolf, fellclaws teeth 215

Wolf guard battle leader, power fist, storm shield, thunderwolf mount 140

Ragnar 195

Rune Priest lv2 85

Rune Priest lv2, on a bike 105

for a total of 740 points.

SAM 0389

This summer has been crazy but there looks to be a calm in the storm so better late than never.

P.S. for pictures how do I control the size when I post, would like to make the final pictures bigger but not sure how.

Hey Viddar,

Yep summers can get crazy!!

Glad to have you with us.

Your vow is after the deadline, but better to vow late than not to vow at all.

Time to start running with the pack!!

Right ladies and gentlemen. Semper has made it clear we need completions to start rolling in and fast. A high % completion rate could give us a chance of upsetting the ETL cart. It's now down to you to get those completions in. We can do it if everyone pulls together!!!

Let's show everyone what we're made of.

Crunching the numbers, this is how things stand:

IFOR: total points after completion % factored in = 302.382

Dark Angels: total points after completion % factored in = 607.56

Space Wolves: total points after completion % factored in = 1280.92

Blood Angels: total points after % completion factored in = 3872.432

Codex Chapters: total points after % completion factored in = 3965.775

Chaos: total points after % completion factored in = 5239.094

AoD: total points after % completion factored in = 6875.2

We currently stand in 5th position and we are doing okay, but we do need to start seeing completions.

I have been heartened to see progress from many of you and it is a good sign.

Thank you.

I know I will not be able to complete my current vow until week 9, because of work.

But I will be doing prep and other stuff to make sure I can keep things moving along.

Of our first timers, I would like to congratulate The_Mad_Hatter.

He is the first (and so far only) rookie to complete their vow.

I know that Real Life can get in the way a bit, and real life should always take precedence over our little plastic warriors.

(Just ask Fytharin)

So there is no need to apologise if you haven't been able to make progress.

Just do not let procrastination eat into your painting time.

We are a pack and we work together, if you are toiling or need motivation.... If you want to show off a new technique, call on the pack and we will be here.

Lets get this forum rowdy, some more paint on the models and some more points on the board!!!

We may not have the resources of the big 3 but we do have the skill and hopefully the desire to push them all the way.

Who knows if we hit a high enough completion level and get a few re-vows in, we may even overhaul them!!

PS, my bits for Cypher came in, so guess who will be in the next vow msn-wink.gif

As I have said in another post my first vow should be completed this week. At the latest on the 3rd of july. That gives me just over a month to finish a second vow, which with what I am planning on the second vow I should be able to complete very quickly and potentially vow a single model (maybe 2) for a 3rd vow.

So, I promised some progress. This the last of my stock Wulfen to complete, then I think I'll move on to the Storm Eagle.

And then, I went and did a bad thing...

Wife was not thrilled about how much I spent, but she'll get over it. If I can get the lead out, I'll try to vow the Praetor along with the not-Bran. I just have to decide whether I want to take the blade off and but an axe head on or not.

I say swap the blade for a big axe.

A wee bit of fur coming out from under the shoulder pads.

Do not know if the torso and legs are separate.

If so, rotate the body slightly so it looks like he is either about to issue a challenge or start running forward ar a worthy foe.

Get the mk2 command set. Get shot of the hammer head and fit the blade.

Coat the blade in blood and put a head on his base. Instant executioner Wolf a la Eddard Stark.

After all yoi cant pass judgement without carrying out the punishment.

Either that or the blade would look sweet on a White Scar

The torso is separate, but the tubing running up from the pelvis dictates how the torso fits. The head is separate, so turning the head would make it look more like he is running. As the axe is concerned, I have a random TWC axe head in my box, and the paragon blade may get used as my kraken bone sword.

It is really nerve wracking.

Ues Grey Knight hands & halberd if it makes it easier to convert.

If you cut then be sure, be swift & make sure the blade is sharp.

Something about this line made me smile, too, in a good way mindmsn-wink.gif .

It sounds/looks like a quote from a movie, I just don't know which yet.

It's even better if it was not on purposecool.png .

Pushing on to the Storm Eagle, basecoat will come tonight, as well as reworking shoulder pads on the Termie Wulfen. Looks like my Praetor will come in handy before I even build him.

Would have said it was more Raven Guard :)

But its not a quote as far as I know.

If I was going for a quote I would have adapted and gone for

"Don't look away. The All-Father will know" with regards to when you make the cut :p

Actually sounds like a line from the Sword of Truth series. Its almost the motto of the War Wizards. II'll have to scan the books later, think it may be in Temple of the Winds.

Edit: finally found what I was looking for.

The ruby is meant to represent a drop of blood. It is the symbolic representation of the way of the primary edict."It means only one thing, and everything: cut. Once committed to fight, cut. Everything else is secondary. Cut. That is your duty, your purpose, your hunger. There is no rule more important, no commitment that overrides that one. Cut."The lines are a portrayal of the dance. Cut from the void, not from bewilderment. Cut the enemy as quickly and directly as possible. Cut with certainty. Cut decisively, resolutely. Cut into his strength. Flow through the gaps in his guard. Cut him. Cut him down utterly. Don't allow him a breath. Crush Him. Cut him without mercy to the depths of his spirit."It is the balance to life: death. It is the dance with death.  It is the law a war wizard lives by, or he dies."Temple of the Winds: Chapter 48

So no work on the Storm Eagle, mainly because I just had to work on the Praetor. It's amazing how a head and weapon swap can change the dynamicsubject of a model.

I have a couple more things to put on him, but they will come after paint.
