Not sure if I am regretting the red on the Caestus or not.

The wash is still drying.

I am hoping the dragon design will make it look nicer

What do you think?

It'll be great for the gold dragon to stand out, looking good so far :)

Ulrik the Slayer - FINISHED

He's finished. Magnificent model.
And magnificent paintjob. Really, I don't want to compliment myself much, but I love how he turned out and how good the details worked out... never had a better model in 15 years of hobby.
Sorry, for the grainy picture, but I'll do him justice, once I'm fully finished.

Might help to splash red on some smaller panels on the wings and tail section. Put flight numbers (like on Night Fury) there in gold so it matches the gold on red dragon.

Edit: 5 tries on this post before my phone cooperated :cuss

Almost done with my vow! Work and home have gotten in the way of paint time the last week and a half. Just few things left to finish on the wulfen. Second vow may come in with cypher and a couple rhinos but I'd have to work quickly on it and not sure of scheduling at work as of right now.

Picked up my brushes tonight, and got the fur finished, base coated the weapons, and began working the metal. Man, this would be over so quick if I had more than an hour a night to dedicate, but if I need to take the "death by a thousand paper cuts" approach, so be it.

Old-school Logan Grimnar model finished.
He looks... old-school, I automatically painted him in the way I painted the first few Lord of the Rings models I ever had.
Can't right put my finger on it on why I feel like that, but... maybe it's the pewter? Either way, he rocks.
And I finished another twelth of my vow... so I got that going for me, which is nice.

I have two more weeks to finally finish it all. (Due to vacation)
I can do it, but it'll be hard.

I think the red works very well. In fact it's way better that having it of blue-grey, the surfaces are too big and makes it kind of monotonous. I like it like that very much indeed!

I'm sure the model is really intricate and detailed to work with - I just wished it would be more dynamic... But the paint job looks excellent and don't worry about complementing yourself too much - I believe that's the SWs way!

UPDATED TO THIS POINT!

Great work Anselneo! Looks very good!

I should do my Wulfen (both old and new models) in the dark brown and dark grey color schemes of the old 13th company figures, aswell.
Cool work aswell, Triszin, wouldn't have thought Drakenhof Nightshade would work that well over grey!

I finished the Cataphractiis - giving the power sword guy awesome Kraken tattoos on his bald head and the "Captain" got the glorious HAIR METAL head from our upgrade sprue.
And I finished the Rhino. Called her "Gilla" (meaning Servant). She's dirty and grimy. Was my first model with large flat faces... and you can see it. But... I don't care. She's a dirty old lady and does her job well.

With that I have 1540 points of 3000 done.
31 Models in Power Armor, 6 in Terminator Armor and 5 in Scout Armor to go...
...and roughly two weeks left. Damnit!

Vow fulfilled in the name of Russ!! AWOOOOOO!!!

Finishing the vow was considerably more time-consuming than I expected. The summer brought so many distractions, and painting the Land Raider took the fire out of my painting frenzy for a few weeks. That has reinforced my feeling that I have never been a fan of painting vehicles. The effect to effort ratio is so much lower for vehicles than for individuals! Well, here are the results, enjoy!

Rand: I haven't painted a vehicle since my landraider 13 years ago. That's how much I hate painting vehicles. Of course this was before my air brush. Once etl is complete I will be toying around with vehicles a bit (have a renegade box due in soon at my flgs). But brush painting vehicles is out of the question for several reasons.

Great completions all! Keep up that last few weeks hustle guys!

And the Wolves spring into action! All this waiting is beginning to bring in results!

And he's done and he's gorgeous. Love the way he turned out smile.png As always C&C welcome.

Congratulation Rand! Although the Lord on the bike and the Land Raider are both excellent, what really captured my eye was the Wulfen! Rarely has a single unit captured the imagination of an entire community in this way and you have done them great justice!
