Vow 1 is FINALLY complete! (Sorry, I've had work and studies so my painting time is very short and far between- Aaaaand I'm a slow painter).

 

 

The Daemon Knight Paladin of Tzeentch, Anubis, the Celestrial Voidstrider of Change, armed with a Rapidfire Battlecannon, 2 Heavy Stubbers, a Foe-Reaper Chainsword and a Dirge Caster for a total of 445 points.

 

A unnamed, unblooded Renegade Knight bearing the sigil of Verum Venatores, stands firm, ready to unleash a holy firestorm upon those who would seek to impede the Liberators of the True Way! He stands armed with 2 Avenger Mega Bolters, 2 Heavy Flamers, a Heavy Stubber and a carapace mounted Stormspear Rocket Launcher for a total of 475 points.

 

The total vow cost: 920 points.

 

 

...I think next vow will be a bit faster (hopefully).

My two Iron Warrior Contemptor Dreadnought, useing Armour 13: Lost & the Damned in games or if it against friends useing the Iron Circle rules.  Ether way there cool models & I want a few more.  Really like & enjoy painting these models, ever Iron Warrior hobbiest need them in there army no matter if it is Heresy or Chaos era.

2nd ed era Khorne Berzerker to mark 20 year since the 2nd ed codex was release.  Just wanted to try keep the models, beyound the 32mm base, as they where for old time sake.

Then the Black Legion force I'm painting for my friend.  As said before I sort work in a diffrent mind set when painting for other.  Right now I've gotten the models to this stage.  Aim now to try get other models near finish between now & up to the next two weeks.  Then spend the finial week just tidy up anything, adding any extra detail or trying to get set things all done that the same time for the whole army.

 

I should hopeful have a whole army photo from there first event on the second week of Auguest.

Gutted the flash sort drowned out the highlight on the yellow.  But I'll go back & add sepia shade mix with medium onto the yellow icon.  Then Chaos rune are going to be painted onto the hull, but as said that going be done when the whole army (rest been done Vow 2) are painted so it can all get painted same time & be in that sort same mind set.

I would like to add more, but while thing are pushing forward in my life.  I still need to get a few thing back on track & then it fully back to the hobby & hopeful able to make a few more vows in a few weeks time as there still a LOT I want to add & still got my Knights that I'll need to have ready for the 20th Aug - just want to wait until I can spend they time these models need to convert & paint them.

@ InsanePsychopath: A very impressive achievement, indeed, and some very promising models for your second vow as well! It's crazy how well those Daemon Prince parts fit on the plastic Contemptor -- it should be so obvious, really, but it's still the first time I have seen it pulled off.

It will spur me to actually complete these guys for Gilgamesh and add the points to Chaos in both forums. Both ETL5 and Session 12 end around the same time so it will all tie in nicely.

Somebody will have to help me out with the points (please!) because I would like to make my second.

 

I, BrotherJim, heed the Call of Chaos, and rise to the Challenge of the El Tenebrae Lux for the second time, I vow to complete 1 Chaos Demon Prince, with wings, armour, murder sword, aura of dark glory, mark of Nurgle, for 270 points, and 5 Possessed Chaos Space Marines, with VOTLW, two gifts of mutation, mark of Nurgle, for 180 points, which gives me a total of 450 points from the CSM codex, on or before the 15th of August. Success with bring Glory to the Chaos Forum, and failure will doom me to wear the badge of oath breaker until years end.

What upgrades does the prince have? Right now I am seeing wings, and of course a god dedication is mandatory, although if you aren't painting for a specific god I don't know if you get points for it. Depending on how you paint the blade you could call it a murdersword/spineshiver blade/blade of the relentless/blade of blood/greater etherblade....

@ teenengee - Yeah I know that's the problem huh... Let's go with Nurgle for now as I will want to keep him fairly versatile in terms of appearance, so I won't be doing any conversion as I may change him later.

Haha I promise you guys I will buy my codex this month. That way we won't have to go through this again. I will probably even start gaming too, so then I'll start hassling the jeske for advice :)

Regarding the marks of the DP, all of them have the same points value, except for Slaanesh who is 5pts cheaper. So you can really go for Tzeentch, Khorne or Nurgle without changing anything about the total points value for the vow. Just sayin'...

 

Going with either of the three marks would put the Prince at 200 pts without the Etherblade. Cannot help you there, though, as I just have the bog standard Codex without any of the fancy supplements ;)

So if you want the greater Etherblade that makes him a Daemon Prince from codex Chaos Daemons. He would have flight, mark of Nurgle, greater reward (the sword) and his points points as well. Did you want to make him a psyker too? Each mastery level is 25 points which you can take to level 3. Do you want your possessed marked as well? A non psyker prince as you have right now will be 220. A non marked 5 man possessed squad is 130 with no upgrades. Hope that helps!

About the DP:

I see some mutated power armour plates too, so you could give him that. He also looks pretty creepy, so you could add an Aura of Dark Glory. I´ve seen some pretty stretchy stuff (vowing the Imperial Space Marine (which in the rules is a free upgrade - so 0 points) as a Captain with combi-melta and meltabombs à 110 points), so I think we can allow those armour plates to count as 'mutated/decayed/ warped power armour...

Which would mean: Daemon Prince, Wings, Armour, Murder Sword, Aura of Dark Glory, mark of anything but Slaanesh: 270: If Slaanesh: 265.

Extra Mastery levels come at 25 points each, up to three, but you´d have to represent them all and i don´t see anything which would warrant them ATM.

The possessed:

With Veterans of the Long War (hey, they've been around long enough to mutate, for crying out loud) and two gifts of mutation for the Champion (his arms are mutated) come at 160 points for those five. But you'd best give them the same mark as the DP if you're going for the same look. That's an extra K15, T25, N20, or S15 points for the five. I can't spell the marks and their points cost out, but you can figure it out from the beginning letters, no?
