+++E Tenebrae Lux V - Realm of Chaos Strategium+++

Recommended Posts

I wake up and wow! So many completions and excellent models!

I'm out of Likes already. :D

I just have a cable and decals to do, and my rapier will be finished.

Can I manage another vow...perhaps...I'll see what I can put together quickly and that won't take too long to paint. Daemonettes, perhaps.

I'm sorry I missed the deadline for entry. Could have at least given a couple thousand points to Chaos :/

I'll have to stay alert for next year's game. Gotta get me some of those badges!

You can still take part with out-of-competition vows. These are exactly like normal vows but their points will not count towards the total of your faction! PM me if you need to discuss. smile.png

I has finished! My first ever ETL vow is complete. Sorry I don't have time to do anymore at the moment. If things change I'll try and vow the Vindicator I've got sitting around.

C&C welcome!

Nemac

VERY nice clean job! Congratulations Nemac!

Matriarch of the Brass Brood, Greater Brass Scorpion of Khorne, Incarnate Daemon Engine

Daemon Engines are beasts of living metal, towering engines of war driven not by technology, but by the will of a denizen of the Warp. The mightiest of these creatures are mechanical Daemons summoned into beeing, as was first seen during the dark days of the Shadow Crusade.

A towering monster of armour plating and hellish metal flesh, powered by burning souls and bearing an arsenal of murderous weapons, the Brass Scorpions are an example for the Incarnate Daemon Engines.

Her fearsome hellmaw cannons are able to unleash a torrent of red-hot, molten brass summoned from the Daemon Forge of Khorne himself, and between his twisted form can be seen tormented souls given physical form at the moment of the machine's manifestation.

There are some theories among loyalist Magi about how these hellish creatures first came into beeing èn mass - some speculate a number of Brass Scorpions were forged - or brought into beeing - by the mad traitors of the Forge World of Xana - while other say the engines created by the Dark Mechanicum during that time were just hallow imitations of the Bloodgod's Brass Brood. Whatever the truth is - there are confirmed sightnings of these beasts fighting alongside Word Bearers, World Eaters and Night Lords during the later days of the Heresy ...

eek.gif Look at that paint job! This is truly an amazing piece Atia, well done! Wow...

Oh man, aren't we a lively lot at the moment? msn-wink.gif

@ Brother Kortmer: Fantastic work on that GUO and on the traitor command squad -- and I just love the blistered paintwork on that Leman Russ! Just hang in there now!

@ Nemac Vradon: Excellent work on that Helbrute, mate! Those hazard stripes of yours are just delicious!

@ Atia: Wowzers, that is a spectacular scorpion, indeed! It really says something that the broken Contemptor on the base is already better than what most people come up with as their best work. Brilliant stuff!

So today is the hottest day of the year so far in good old Jhermani, with more than 33 degrees Celsius outside (which is pretty oustanding for the northwestern part of the country). Hardly the perfect weather to be painting miniatures -- quite the opposite, actually.

However, I realised that losing momentum was the biggest danger for me, so I soldiered through my paintjob for my 4th ETL vow nonetheless. There's no way in hell I am heading outside to take some proper pictures, however, so these will have to suffice for now:

4th ETL Vow finished!

As always, let me know what you think! smile.png

It's one of those occasions where 70pts just don't do it justice! biggrin.png Bravo Krautscientist!

Vow 2 complete: 3000 more pts!

I'll probably do some more vows of smaller amounts. Have some nurgle stuff that needs some attention but I just don't know if I can do another 3000 pointer!

Talking about size! ohmy.png Congratulations undeadsoldier, this is a great boost for Chaos! Now be very careful of your next vow (if indeed there is one coming) as failure in the last vow nullifies all previous ones! Right now you're worth 6k pts to Chaos - if you're confident for more that's fine but if you're in doubt, better safe than sorry. Then again, this is not an attitude of a true Chaos Lord! laugh.png

Edit: there is something wrong with the "hidden" tags...

UPDATED TO THIS POINT!

The display errors with the spoiler/hidden and quote coding occur when the spoiler tag is opened inside a quote and the closing tag is placed after the quote tag, if that makes any sense. I can't seem to use the quote function on this page due to said display errors, so I can't view the code, but I suspect that's what's going on here.

I plan on working on my vow today and tomorrow for a few hours. I've been more busy than I predicted recently, but next week I have a camping trip so I would prefer to get done before I leave. The basecoats are all done, so it's all detail work at this point.

A very decent run for you Scourged, the GODS ARE PROUD!!!

Insane Psychopath, what's the tabard bit from on the guy on the right in the first picture?

I think it's part of the Ork Nobz kit if I remember correctly

Nemac

Yes that them.  Just though they look cool & fitted the IW theme.

Look like I might be order a Dreadclaw later on today..... if all goes to plan this will be my third vow.  I think I've got enough parts to start converting my Knight as well, I'll need to check that out this afternoon & again will be part vow 3.

How are we all on this third day if the British heatwave? I'm just spraying the Rapiers up, waiting for the last of the undercoat to dry before I spray the Incubi Darkness.

Dragonlover

EDIT: My vow is 225 points, I've edited it into the main post as well. Terribly sorry about that.

If it's any consolation, the heat is just as bad on the blasted plains of Jhermani... ;)

Best thing about painting miniatures in really warm weather:

Things dry really fast.

Worst thing about painting miniatures in really warm weather:

Things dry really fast. That includes any paint on your brush and palette.

Comments welcome, fourth vow is being built at the moment

I know I have arrived too late to contribute real points to my faction of Chaos but I am here to commit a blood-pact in any case to show my dedication to the dark gods. Here is my OOC Vow.

I M3TLH3D, Scourge of the Northern Wastes, Defiler of the Pure and Holy, Lord of the Betrayed, Arch-Heretic and servant of the Black Legion, rise to the challenge of E TENEBRAE LUX and vow to complete 4 Daemon Princes from Chaos Space Marines costing 1075 points before August 15th, 2016. I shall bring Glory to the Legion with my sacrifice as failure will mark me as a COWARD and cost me the dishonour of wearing the Badge of the Oathbreaker.

Pucker up mortals! Your time is at hand!

Here are the 4 DP's I have started on; Nurgle DP with wings and Black Mace, Khorne DP with wings and Axe of Blind Fury, Slaanesh DP with Spineshiver Blade and Be'lakor: http://i.imgur.com/s9AnoRa.jpg

@ Tankus Wokus: Oh wow, dude. Those painted beautifully. I especially like the Pink Horrors, but all of them are painted to a very high standard. Only comment I have is: square bases. Why not try the new 60mm oval bases for the Flesh Hounds and Steeds? :)

@ M3TLH3D: welcome to the ETl, buddy! That's a good vow. About your 'before picture'. You're using imgur. In Imgur, rightclick the picture and select 'open picture in new tab'. The copy-paste teh URL of the newly opened picture (ending in the image extention, so in this case .jpg) into your comment. Then put [*img] before and [*/img] after the image (but delete the * in both those codes). Hey presto, your images show up!

Well, thank you for that - I was at a loss... Now I'll try to keep an eye on it to avoid this mess...

What can I say Tanks? I really like your style - really do! The Seekers in particular! eek.gif

Welcome M3TLH3D and good luck with your vow! :)

UPDATED TO THIS POINT!

@ Augustus - These are the old metal models, I've had them kicking around for ages and just used the bases that were supplied with them. I'm starting a new Khorne Daemonkin army shortly so those flesh hounds will have the correct bases laugh.png

@ Captain Semper - Thanks buddy, your kind words are appreciated.

Here's where my first Rapier is at. Still gotta paint the mutations on the Marines and most of the gun carriage. Oh, and the gun obviously.

http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g79/Dragonlover63/Mobile%20Uploads/20160722_140506-1.jpg

I'm not 100% sure what colour to do the mutations. Might go more bony, since I avoided it on my Daemonkin due to the trim.

Dragonlover

My rapier and crew are complete!

Perhaps that's the helmet and skull of a Kierdale's shrineworlder on that backpack there...

That completes my third vow and my activity for this year's ETL.

med_gallery_63428_9407_29587.jpg

Now I have to get my almost-finished raptors finished, do a handful more daemonettes, the three rhinos, the dreadclaw (none of which could constitute a 4th vow or be finished in time)...some Eldar...and the Armies on Parade board...

I'd best get to work.

@ Dragonlover: Nice work on the rapier so far. I'd say go for bone indeed for the mutations. You can always add some colour to it to make it look even stranger. :)

@ Kierdale: Another excellent finish. About the choice of unit for your fourth vow: DREADCLAW DREADCLAW DREADCLAW DREADCLAW!!! I'd love to see one in your fabulous colour scheme.

I also finished a unit: my Hell Talon!

More pics in this post in my WiP log.

Hope you like.

Just been for one of my wanders into enemy territory, apparently we're currently leading. I can well believe this, because we've had a hell of a week.

Keep it up gang, cause the show ain't over yet, and as we've been told...

The Gods want MOAR!

Dragonlover

I guess I better make a second vow

I Madkid523 vow to complete:
1 Chaos lord in terminator armour with chainfist and combat familiar totaling 135 points
