MithrilForge
Well haven't we all been bitten and now suffer from "shiny shiny new toys" syndrome , well i have and i need to find a cure so lets start with the treatment shall we.... First purchase was the termie captain(which incidentally is a vow for the Imp Fists forum call to arms) here's my first WiP's, he's about halfway done, very happy so far, it's a 3 piece model which can easily be painted in separate parts although the head is a pre-shaped head at the back so swapping out heads may require a little work so i opted for the normal bare head. Not sure what to base him on.. was thinking of putting my deathwatch on some eldar like bases to show them "taking the fight" to the enemy... C&C always weclome Mithril Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325257-mithrils-deathwatch-painting-challenge-plog/ Share on other sites
Ordo Machinum
Well haven't we all been bitten and now suffer from "shiny shiny new toys" syndrome , well i have and i need to find a cure so lets start with the treatment shall we.... Rashbold: the only cure is to BUILD... and then.. to BUILD MORE! Rashbold: That is a very cool idea. I wish I had thought of that before getting the Sector bases. The new AoS 'Shattered Dominion' bases would be excellent for that as well. C&C always weclome Mithril Stunning! Absolutely stunning work! Ciao, R. Black Cohort
I think the black armour could use some kind of highlighting, otherwise when you get to less blinged out models they will look kind of flat and boring. Â Otherwise it looks great. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325257-mithrils-deathwatch-painting-challenge-plog/#findComment-4482871 Share on other sites

ONDIG
Super clean paint!Nice job.Did the terminator come from a Deathwatch kit or kitbashed? And can a kilteam have a bike mingled in a unit of vets or say TDA?I'm not positive how that works. Father Mehman
The Clerics are back on go after several months of meandering down more fantastical paths. It seems I couldn't bear the thought of power armour for some time but, now that all the silliness is over, it's time to get back to my favourite Unforgiven Successor Chapter ! I still think of you and the help you gave me - so much so my wife knows who you are. With that being said, work harder and faster, damn your eyes! We need more pictures ! Father Mehman
Proof indeed, my friend. I see you have found a suitable head for our biker friend, as well. Consider this idea stolen ! Your level of detail is quite grand and you've really just started - the Terminator Captain doesn't count . I think I'll just put my brushes down now... MithrilForge
Flesh recipe ... man i gotta remember to write stuff down, sometimes when im on a roll i just phase out and paint and add this then add that From memory(i'll meticulously document the next painted head) i started with white undercoat i never paint heads from black undercoat neatly base wash with reikland fleshshade to bring out the features, carefully avoiding the eyes and mouth with the wash, lets keep them as white as we can. base colour paint is i think cadian fleshtone or kislev flesh applied with a bit of Lahmian medium, (will double check tonight and amend my post with the correct colour) i then wash again with reikland very finely then work up the flesh with cadian and a touch of white added and then continually add white to the mix to get to desired lvl of highlight. the head and chin stubble was done with Mech standard grey watered down and dappled on with a tiny drybrush, when i thought it was too dark i then dappled on watered down celestra grey and then watered down cadian fleshtone or Kislev . and thats it ! working on these guys tonight so should have much more done for the next pic round ! thanks for looking guys, it motivates me to work when i know someones expecting to see something cheers Mithril Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325257-mithrils-deathwatch-painting-challenge-plog/#findComment-4495619 Share on other sites
