I'd like to know on which Non-Alpha Legion Unit taking Power Daggers on would be beneficial. I can't really think of any since they're Specialist Weapons.

Any unit with specialist weapons. MC Firedrake thunder hammer perchance.

If you're giving them the Stormshield, they cant gain +1A from the Power Dagger.

Thus making the Upgrade useless.

Yeah, it would be nice to have but only if you have the Spare points. Thing is, its for Characters (thus the Sargeant) only.

That said:

  • Red Butchers dont need it, they'll have Dual Power Axes/Chain Fists/Thunderhammers instead.
  • Templar dont, none of their weapons are specialist.
  • Palatine Blades have Two-Handed Phoenix Spears, no need.
  • Rampagers have mostly Two-Handed Weapons.
  • SoH Reavers with Power Fists might find it useful.
  • Gal Vorbak might if the sarge takes a Tainted Weapon / Lightning Claw.
  • Gorgon Terminator Sarge might find it useful since he has to have a thunderhammer.
  • Phoenix Guard have Spears.
  • Deathshroud have Scythes.
  • Tyrants might find it useful but they're shooty more than assaulty.
  • Terror Squads dont have Specialist Weapons.
  • Immortals have Shields and are a shooty unit.
  • Invictarus Suzerians have a Shield.
  • Mor Deythan are Shooty.
  • Justaerin might find it useful.

Every other Legion Specific unit is not an elites choice and thus ineligible.

Of this list, only : Reavers, Justaerin, Gal Vorbak and Gorgons would make actual use out of Power Daggers. Soooo.....yeah >_>

As far as the Templars go, the champion can take a thunder hammer or a power fist -- both of those are specialist weapons and would benefit from power daggers.

But the Solarite Power Gauntlet, which is an explicit option for the Templar Champion, is not specialist and is arguably better than either hammer or powerfust due to gaining a bonus attack from having a Pistol and Master-Crafted.

Just a note, I'm pretty sure you can take any legion specific unit (except IC), they don't have to be an elite unit in the first place, you just take them as an elite in the Coils ROW. Dunno if that changes the use of power daggers at all (I don't think you can take power daggers on 'stolen' units anyway though).

True, but I was just pointing out that they actually do have specialist options.

Awesome!  Well I very much appreciate you using your skills to benefit this project.  :)

What are the chances of you adding an apocalypse force type?

Pretty low.  I'm sticking to the way Forgeworld is intending the Force Organization charts to be used.  If Apocalypse is featured in a HH book, I will add it.

To be fair, you can simply ignore the errors that come up and still use the catalogues accordingly.

Hey, I noticed Gorgon Terminators can take combi-weapons. Is this an oversight? I don't see the option in the red book.

Yes, that is an option... May replace a Combi-bolter for combi-weapon.  I'm using the LA:CAL black edition, but I would be very surprised if there was a difference.  :smile.:

This is wrong.  Please go back and re-read the entry. Only the Sargent may replace his combi-bolter with a combi-weapon.

Additionally, check the immortals entry is correct. The entuire squad may switch to volkite charger, but only 1 in 5 can switch to other special weapons, currently you allow any number to switch.

thanks for all your hard work.

Oh man, I'm not sure how I mis-read that!  Great catch.  I've fixed this now.  It will be uploaded soon.

Just wanted to verify, you're saying that the Immortals are correct, right?  It seems they are...

Hey just noticed their might be an error with the selection of Anvillus Pattern Dreadclaws. I outlined the possible discrepancy here:

http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/314674-anvillus-pattern-drop-pods/?do=findComment&comment=4192154

I brought this point up back on Aug 23rd.

Millicant said he'd look into it.

I'm on it!

Little question:

Is the mechanicum red book already in?^^

No, unfortunately.  I didn't purchase the book since I don't play anything remotely Mechanicum.  I've been waiting to find another temporary source to complete the cataloguing, but it hasn't materialized yet.  :sad.:  Believe me, I'm a little anxious to add it as well.

I already put that in, I was so excited!  I haven't uploaded it yet cause it's a pretty small change, but I will soon.  I also changed it to "Twin-linked" Volkite! Yipee!!!

Just noticed Head of the Gorgon RoW is not giving Blessed Autosimulacra for free to all vehicles as it should.

You're correct, it isn't annotated.  I addressed this a few pages back - but the short version is that I didn't want users with that Rite of War to need to select the Blessed Autosimulacra for each vehicle!  That is quite tedious and unnecessary.  I may go back at some point and try to have it auto-populate with the upgrade, but please remember my mission statement:  this is meant as a list-building tool and the ultimate responsibility for legal and accurate lists/play is on the user.  :smile.:

Overall guys, I'd like to apologize for the long delays and slow updates as of late.  I am currently our unit's Admin officer and we are on the brink of a deployment, so my life has been.... busy.  :tongue.:  I expect it will slow down somewhat when I'm overseas (no family to spend time with) so I plan on doing some good work then.
